I said Chipper was heating up…
Chipper finally comes through! I guess having Loaf on your ass in the HR dept. might get me going too.
I thought Rowand caught that
Escobar . . . 1985 just called, it wants its frost back from your hair.
Man, I thought Rowand robbed that for a sec.
Tell em Milton Dawg!
Thatta boy Chip!!!!! Clutch!!!
Rowand made a good attempt at it.
Crap! Rowand almost had that!
that will work Chipper, that will work
Dude, Yunel’s hair looks like gay Brillo.
Not a bad thing…they need a little flare in the dugout. Just saying…
July 20th, 20098:09 pm
Sanchez at 55 pitches now after 3 IP. So, he probably won’t last long…
First pitch inning ending groundout after a homer….McCann’s doing his Frenchy tribute.
It’s still 1985 ….in Cuba.
There we go. Second BOMB of the night for the Braves. Now THAT’S what I’m talking about. Way for the offense to pick up Tommy Hanson and score a few runs for him.
Now hopefully Hanson can build off that easy 3rd and shut the Giants down for a few innings.
I dont worry about Chipper. Even if he struggles, I have faith that he will snap out of it.

Uh.. Is the game still over?
Consistency isn’t in Mac vocabulary.
I feel bad enough already…you don’t hafta get nasty about it…
July 20th, 20098:11 pm
Bottom third, should be a low pitch inning.
Huge huge huge. Thought Aaron had that
Who’s your daddy, braves fans?
Does Boog remind anybody else of Kevin James?
that’s right, Hanson hadn’t had more than five Ks in his first seven starts. So career-high six through three….and counting.
It used to be.
not lying, was at game last night and called Escobar’s 2B & Kotch’s 1B. Pissed off some Mets fans that were around me. Now Chipper! Maybe this is a sign.
July 20th, 20098:12 pm
McFann :Ô: BMac will get his tonight eventually. Hopefully it will be a HR (2B)…
That was a nasty hook. Wow.
Steve from OH
nolie–that’s probably a safe guess right now. I’ve also seen KG refer to him as “Rob Deer.” I think he sells him short because, despite his huge K totals, he hits for a respectable average and walks a ton. His OBP is really good. I agree that the contact (and therefore the AVG/OBP) don’t project well right now at the higher levels, but I see him as more Adam Dunn than Ron Kittle right now…
Young and Stupid
Now that you mention it, yes.
Career high 7 Ks now.
Make that 7
At least you’re guy is staying hot…
Def. Nolan Ryan on the trivia question.
Tommy is starting to settle down..looking good big guy
July 20th, 20098:13 pm
Let me know if you start seeing a series of 6 numbers . . .
Steve from OH, Cody Johnson?
jeffrey d………..Brian McCann will be fine. He cant have a quality at-bat all the time, lol.
And I can’t believe people still comment on Yunel’s hair. Sheesh you’d think he has a blue mohawk with an anarchy symbol shaved into the side of his head the way some of y’all act. So what if he doesn’t have the white boy buzz cut? Open your eyes, people. Its a big world out there…
Nova Scotia Steve
Mr Hanson is starting to get into a grove…wow
Yeah…he’s looked rotten at the plate, though (again ).
Course, thank goodness I was in here Blogging and didn’t see his freaking GO.
Now go high and tight.
July 20th, 20098:14 pm
Hanson is dealing
…or paint it on the outside to get your 8th.
Make that 8
Wooooo, Tommy. 96 on the paint. Love it.
Rob from SC
Wow, he looks great. Explosive Fastball
Tommy’s straight dealin now.
I know man. I hope he can re-capture it.
uh, folks…please allow me to be the first to say…I am AND idiot…
Tommy not having an issue putting hitters away when he gets to 2 strikes. Kid is dealing…
Can’t pitch to the pitcher…ha!
July 20th, 20098:15 pm
That’s for sure. But there’s no “lol” involved, here.
Curd…I missed Tommy’s last two K’s…I gotta get outta here…
hahaha, make sanchez swing!
I think it’s the new aerodynamic haircut for young Hanson. …..the locks are gone.
Yeah, jason. Maybe I’m just being too glass half-full with him, but the fact that he’s made those improvements really stands out to me, tells me that he’s got the tools (somewhere, LOL!), can make adjustments, and is willing to take advice. I hope he can parlay it into success at the higher levels.
9 k’s, anyone????
Me, too, man…me, too.
9 Ks is pretty good isn’t it?
9 K’s thru 4
July 20th, 20098:16 pm
there ya go..
dont understand why he doesnt trust his outstanding fastball more (Joe)
perhaps because he really doesn’t have an “outstanding” fast ball?
McFann, I want them all to be hot at the same time. Usually Chipper and Mac are in sync. I’d like to see Bobby put GA in the clean up spot and switch up 5 and 6 between Mac and Yunel and see how that worked. It couldn’t hurt…but Yunel hit in the 2 spot, the 5 spot, the 6 spot….I’m just saying. The “spot” isn’t to blame for everything.
9 k’s so far throught 4 innings. After throwing a lot of pitches the first 2 innings, he’s thrown 68 pitches through 4 innings.
“Forget about the curveball Ricky bring him the heater”.
Wait…he struck out the side? Dangit! I miss all the fun…
Opie’s on fire tonight!
9 k’s and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for building the fantasy stats Tommy
Yeah Jeff. Chipper “finally” comes thru.
July 20th, 20098:17 pm
So what if he doesn’t have the white boy buzz cut?
Everyone should have the white-boy buzzcut. Frosted tips are unacceptable. There’s no hair gel in baseball.

dont understand why he doesnt trust his outstanding fastball more (Joe)
“perhaps because he really doesn’t have an “outstanding” fast ball?”
Looked like an outstanding fastball to me.
This is a big game…we need some more runs!!!
July 20th, 20098:18 pm
Hanson must’ve touched the brim of Spanjer-Firstandthird’s hat during the break
Don’t worry about McCann folks, just a little fatigue setting in. He’ll get his groove back soon enough
You see? If he had a real man’s haircut, that woulda been a double in the corner. Namby-pamby.
First pitch high fastball to Garret again?
Hoyt Wilhelm ~_~
Didnt think so, lol.
July 20th, 20098:19 pm
I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance.
Told yah it was Hoyt Wilhelm!
riiiiiight. lol Who would have guessed that?
Hey now…I have the white boy buzzcut
Hanson’s fastball really jumps on you late.
jaglawyer- you thinkin Braves put up 6 tonight?
July 20th, 20098:20 pm
Damn that outside corner.
RHR I want them all to be hot at the same time.
So do I. Just can’t put my finger on what’s up with my mann…show’s promise that he’s coming out of it on Friday, and now we’re right back where we started. At least Chipper homered instead of walking…I have a feeling it’d still be 2-1.
I’d like to see Bobby put GA in the clean up spot and switch up 5 and 6 between Mac and Yunel and see how that worked.
Me, too. We should present our case to Bobby.
Yeah, you can’t blame the spot in the order for a player’s struggles…but, if he’s struggling, you can remove him from that spot and give somebody else a chance there…
Way to move away from the pitch GA!!
Garret didnt have a chance that at-bat. Sanchez threw him some nasty pitches.
So I get home and fly through the first two innings watching Tommy Hanson throw the ball kinda all over the place, finally catch up in the middle of the 4th and realize “holy s***, kid’s got 9 K’s already???” I think he settled down rather nicely…
Oh no…the “fatigue” thing starts…
July 20th, 20098:21 pm
I will NEVER understand Boras allowing Matt Holliday to go to Oakland…1 year before his free agency. Matt is another “Coors Product”… He is a career .270 18/20 HR hitter anywhere but Coors….and will prove it this year…Gonna hit around .270/.275 with 18/ 20 HR’s…Should lose a boatload of $$ thanks to this strategic “move”…
Diaz need to shut up before he gets tossed
McFann- BMac will redeem himself for you tonight. I’m calling for a 2B with runners on in the 5th or 6th
July 20th, 20098:22 pm
Yunel slid early on that slide.
