“Bryan McCann (a catcher) notwithstanding, every Braves hitter has regressed and failed to improve under TP, and before you say Chipper, where the hell has his power gone? Kotch, KJ, Yunel, Chipper, Schafer, Frenchy, even Matt Diaz last year. STOP BLAMING THE PLAYERS! THEY NEED SOLID COACHING! We are only as good as our weakest link, and unfortunately, when it comes to hitting, we don’t seem to have a clue! I got an idea: Trade Roger McDowell for Rudy Jaramillo and bring back Mazzone!”

Maybe those particular players (AJ, Frenchy, Schafer) just wouldn’t listen to him? Wouldn’t be the first time a ball player acted like a know it all. Also, maybe some of those players (Kotchman, KJ) just can’t put it together and it’s on them. TP can’t get out there and swing the bat for them. Seriously – EVERY player has regressed under TP? Wow.
Oh, oh – I get it – this is really Robert, isn’t it? Good one!

My AL MVP pick might be Greinke, he mowed through a pretty nasty side in the 4th: Ibanez, Wright, Victorino and struck out the last two (earning the most Ks in the game so far)

Sorry DOB, I liked Sheryl Crow better in the 90’s, when she was a natural, distinctive beauty. She’s been yanked, nipped, tucked, pulled and Botoxed to the point that she’s unrecognizable. She looks like all the other 40-something surgically-altered celebs. She could stand to eat a couple of meals too. And frankly, a lackluster Anthem performance tonight. Probably a nice lady though…just needs to kick the cosmetic surgery habit, and quit starving herself.

If Mac goes to a few more All-Star Games, he might compile a full game’s worth of playing time (nine innings).
That ain’t right, not letting the best catcher get some serious time. Especially with the rule that the starting catcher can go back in in case of emergency. So that’s no excuse.

McFann – I think all of us Braves fans are frustrated by not seeing Mac in these games enough. I guess it goes to show if the Braves fans don’t flood the ballot box or internet vote…the rest of baseball won’t either.
Let’s hope next year we can do better.

Paul LoDuca, Rusell Martin, Geovany Soto, and this year Yadier Molina.

Good grief! Why trade Yunel? He’s a flame throwing young athletic with a nice attractive price tag. We know Padres want Yunel, maybe we can cook up a Yunel/Kotchman/Reyes for Gonzalaz? Yunel should not be traded to Oakland, we don’t need more dates with Boras in the offseason. See the Lowe signing for details.

I think Manuel is sending the Braves a message that he could care less about us. Not only is Mccann not in the game yet, there is not one pitcher from the Braves who arguably have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. I will feel bad if he does not get in, however if the chance that the NL blows this game, i hope Trevor Hoffman is the pitcher that blows the save because Soriano deserves to be there more than any closer in the NL Bullpen

I’ll do better than one. Escobar, Diaz, Kotsay, Prado, Laroche, Renteria and several others. Not to mention, the dude is a freaking former MVP. I think he knows something about putting a bat on a ball and, again, he can’t get out there and hit for them. These guys have so many things going through their minds and so many well-meaning batting coaches that sometimes they get jacked up. And sometimes, they just lose it or, more often, can’t adjust to big league pitchers learning how to pitch to them. It’s not all the Batting coach.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Trading Yunel Escobar is just plain DUMB. You won’t get equal value back because shortstops who can hit .300, 25+ HRs, 20+ SBs with 90+ RBIs never hit the trade block – especially when cheap and young. Is this guy that “hated” in the clubhouse and by Bobby Cox? And, if this is something between Cox and Escobar – well how many more seasons will Cox be around? We don’t even know for sure if Bobby Cox will be the manager in 2010.
I don’t get it – please Frank Wren – keep Escobar – you have already traded Elvis Andrus – we have no more stud shortstops in the minors….
