People assessing the Church trade have to look at RF before and after. As far as the Braves’ everyday lineup numbers are concerned, it was not just swapping JF for Church, it was JF for the new platoon of Church and Diaz. Check out those numbers and see if the team is not significantly better in RF now.

Trading Escobar is just senseless. To have so much patience for guys like KJ, Frenchy, and Schafer, and have such a short leash on Escobar… That’s just stupid. We had three guys murdering the team’s chances to win a game given 3 times more chances to right the ship than any other team, but with Escobar who actually contributes to the team we give him a 2 strikes and you’re out policy.

Just no more moves. We have a decent make-up for the rest of the season and a decent foundation for the future, just leave it alone before you screw it up.

In Buster’s blog today he talked about how he feels that players lost focus the last week before the break, looking sluggish and ready for a break. He thinks it is because they don’t have access to the drugs that they once did. I know you have mentioned that a lot of the Braves drink coffee now, would you say that a greater percentage of players in the clubhouse do that or something else to boost their energy like drink the Red Bulls and Full Throttles before games?
