The post at the top of the page @8:34 outright said “TRADE CHURCH!!!11″ (obvious sarcasm) and yet you passed over that one

Pretty impressive to see two young guys, Hernandez and Conrad, turn that double-play so smoothly. Not sure how much those guys played together in the minors, but right there, they looked like they had played together for a long time.

During last season, I commented that I thought the Braves were in the midst of a bottoming out process, that would likely end at some point during the 2009 season.

I believe that with yesterday’s shipping out of Jeff Francoeur, the Braves have completed the bottoming out process.

I think that Jeff was the last real weak link we had on the roster, and he is no longer here to inflict damage upon us with his inability to consistently get on base.

This isn’t me saying that I think the Braves are now destined for 90 wins this season. It is simply me saying that I think that the general direction of the Braves will be forward-moving for the next few years.

Tomorrow, everyone in the bullpen should be available. They will have 3 days to rest their arms due to the All-Star Break. I imagine that Kris Medlen will be on a short leash.

Nice walk there by Chipper. That is one thing I never understood about Francoeur. He played with Chipper for 4 years, yet could not learn plate discipline. His buddy Brian McCann has learned.

I don’t understand the term ‘blowpen’ with regards to our bullpen. i think it’s out of line…they’ve been mostly outstanding, especially the back end, and now that bennett is gone, it is very solid. brave’s blowpens consisted of the reitsma, kolb and wickman years.

God I miss Ken Tremendous and firejoemorgan.com.

And for those mad at DOB for not pointing out whatever failings or bad tendencies Cox has — save that vitriol for Bradley and Schultz. It’s DOB’s job to tell us what happened and why. Bradley and Schultz are supposed to deliver the both barrels of praise or blame, as columnists. DOB likely has his opinions about what happened and what should have happened — but opinion is what Bradley and Schultz (and why isn’t Hummer writing columns? Is he even still there? Dude’s good.) are there for.
It sure ain’t for their looks.
Every longtime Braves observer knows Bobby has his favorites out of the pen and will continue to run them out there, even when it’s painfully obvious to everyone else that their effectiveness is questionable on a night to night basis. Bobby’s loyal to his players, perhaps to a fault on more than one occasion. Players love it.
