Maybe Frenchy didn’t feel ENOUGH pressure to produce here after a couple good years. It’s like he felt he’d earned a spot with those first good years that would always be his, no matter what. It’s like he lost his focus. Also , when he landed the cash, I’m sure his life outside baseball became much more enjoyable. Maybe the game itself became something he HAD to do, rather than something he looked forward to. I’ve always felt it was something like that; nothing physical, all between the ears.

Without an internal fire to play for the love of playing, I just don’t see how a player could be as focused and/or productive, even if 100% effort were there.. No matter how hard folks try, they can’t MAKE themselves WANT to do something. An enthusiast is apt to be 10-times more successful at a given field than an apathetic soul.

I honestly believe Frenchy gave ALL he had.. He did that because he felt he had to, it was his JOB….. Not a fun game; JOB.

If anyone has ever followed a game on MBL Gamecast, you’ll have seen the stat lines that pop up on the bottom that say things like “Odds of scoring one run this inning, with the one current out: 22%” or some such.

I wish during any game that the Braves score a couple of runs early, it would put up something like “Odds of Braves scoring again this game, providing whichever would be all-star who’s pitching with additional breathing room, pretty freaking unlikely.”

“THE MORON” PAUL “DUMB A**” LENTZ said:
Uh, MORON, Jair has an ERA of 2.88 while Marquis’ ERA is 3.63. The reason why Marquis has a better record is because of the fact that the Rockies have scored FAR MORE RUNS for him then the Braves have for Jair.

Do some research first, before you look at someone’s won/loss record before you make another MORONIC posting

Hey STUPID!!! where did I say ANYTHING about about … you know what, you’re just stupid lets just leave it at that. You’re an obvious 10 year old trying to start something out of nothing at all.

an illiterate MORON

bigmacattack………..What you “did say” was that the umpire was basing his strike zone on a won/loss record. I said that you are a MORON if you believe that.

If an umpire was going to base his strike zone on a pitcher’s ability…..then he would look at his ERA before his won-loss record.

bigmacattack………..What you “did say” was that the umpire was basing his strike zone on a won/loss record. I said that you are a MORON if you believe that

I didn’t SAY that’s what he was doing, nowhere in there did I SAY “The umpire is calling Marquis differently because he’s a 10 game winner and JJ isn’t!”

out of all the “joke” posts you see on here, you take mine to rip as real??

“Marquee is a 10 game winner and Juggins isn’t … maybe that’s what he’s basing his K Zone on”

Maybe I should write “sarcasm” and the end of those types of posts, help ya out a bit?

5-3 Pirates over Phillies, top of the 7th. I have a bad feeling that the Phillies are going to come back and win that game. The Pirates bullpen leaves a lot to be desired.
