I’m done Bobby. Get someone up!
Who the F is Ian Stewart?
[expletive deleted] !!
Welcome to Coors Field, Mr. Hanson
niether pitcher is fooling anybody
July 9th, 20099:11 pm
I love this compulsion to bash Frenchy. The Braves are 7-3 in the last 10 games and most of those wins are with Jeff in the lineup and most of the loses are with him out of it. So we have gone 10 games or more without him costing us a loss, but y’all still feel compelled to pontificate on the problem. OCD is alive & well on the ol’ board as always.
Jeez people. Communication is key!
Hanson just wants to make things interesting.
Shades of the Milwaukee game Hanson pitched where he is leaving everything right down the middle and this is the wrong park to do that. Ballgame.
Steve from OH
July 9th, 20099:12 pm
Good changeup there from Tommy…he’s really gonna need to refine that pitch.
Nolie: And what has Frenchy contributed to those wins.?
Nova Scotia Steve
nolie, frenchy sucks it’s a fact. He’s at or near the bottom in every stat for his position.Get over it.
Tommy won’t last four if he doesn’t get the ball down and out of the heart of the plate.

Drive by blogger – question, how can you say Chipper “has a lot of game left, though his legs are shot”?
One of my favorite Braves’ hitters ever – Rico Carty – ended up with shot legs, and DH’g for the Red Sox, after a season or so at first base, I believe. He was a good hitter to the very end, though.
Jeff should have caught that ball….DAMN IT FRANCOUER
There’s the first homer offa Hanson. Gonna get worse!
Rob from SC (Please don't trade Escobar)
Can’t pitch Stewart down, he is a dead low ball hitter. Pitch him hard up and soft away
I think i know why both Bobby and Joe Simpson keep defending and excusing Francoeur. It’s because way back when, when they played baseball, they had many of his same problems. “Hit hard, but right at ‘em”, the favorite excuse. They see this modern-day reflection of themselves, and feel about Frenchy the way they felt back then. If only somebody believed in me, gave me a second (third, fourth, fifth, sixth…) chance. The problem is there are winners and losers. Bobby and Joe lost as players, now they win as an HOF manager and the guy who does every local TV Braves broadcast no matter what. It’s fairly obvious to us they Frenchy will not succeed in playing baseball. But Cox and Simpson, blinded by the pain of the past, just don’t want it to happen. They, like a lot of parents, want to relive the dream through the kid.
Maybe that’s too sophomoric, but it does explain it a bit. Doesn’t it?

I liked it better when it was 2 – 0
Correlation does not equal causation. In 2004, I attended 13 Braves games. The Braves won 12. Where’s my complementary season tickets?
Got here late, but everybody is missing the important part of the blog- lyrics from Robert Earl Keen. The man is the greatest American songwriter today, and he is way too unnoticed and underappreciated. He is stellar like Maddux and Glavine 10-12 years ago. Now let’s go get more runs- we’re gonna need them.
elton might be a closet braves fan
July 9th, 20099:15 pm
Go start Nate
Elton Rules…! It has to be Hubbard who bumps that…
Nate’s hitting .350+ in his last 10. Time to bench him also.
July 9th, 20099:16 pm
bobby just gave nate the don’t steal sign
Huge break there.
SAFFFEE AND SAFE
July 9th, 20099:17 pm
Ha. That like never happens.
Bunt with Loaf
Wait, did they call him safe?
did the cubs fly to Colorado and change unis?
Nate’s the man. Let’s get him home.
Blog ate my last post…try this again.
There you are. I found you!
Hanson is not going to be perfect every night. Not worried about the last inning. Hits and homers just happen here. It’s Coors Field. I think there will be plenty of runs tonight anyway…
McLouth was out…lucky break.
This game is going the complete opposite as I thught it would. Welcome to the world of baseball, I guess.
Semiballcoach: Sir Elton is an OPEN Breaves fan
good as a bunt
July 9th, 20099:18 pm
Well, I guess we can say he bunted. Got the runners over.
Looks like Mr. Wren took that money we didn’t spend on the draft and used it to bribe the second base umpires of America. Money well spent, IMO.
Come on Mac, we need ya here.
Say what you want, but the Braves have benefited from some lousy calls the last two days.
Bout Time We get a break…!
I miss the games in Denver, which is why I hate the unbalanced schedule!
We Went Undefeated against the Rockies in 93…! Gawd I miss them days
you haven’t found me yet
Mlb.com is streaming super slow today. Jerks.
July 9th, 20099:19 pm
Should I start talking about you-know-who?
Ah, what the hey?
Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg, Future Hall-of-Famer.
Come On B-Macc! Don’t let this Cat settle down and find a groove
July 9th, 20099:20 pm
Its perfect on my setup, eh.
Come on Yuni, no GB
Please no DP!
No…I have…I was looking for you on here and suddenly you appeared. You were cussing when you appeared. But appeared anyway.
Too many hyphens, Roman Gal.
Well that’s not exactly what I had in mind, but at least it’s not an out.
July 9th, 20099:21 pm
nolie, first of all, jeff has done absolutely nothing to contribute to the 7 out of 10 wins you referenced. I mean, it might as well have been me playing in his spot and the outcome would have been the same. second of all, I just don’t like him, mostly because he thinks he’s great and that the braves should be ashamed for ever questioning his greatness by benching him or sending him to the minors or not giving him as much money as he thinks he’s worth. So yeah, he’s always an easy target.
Time for Yunel’s 2nd triple.
With Hoss Out, Everyteam we face isn’t gonna let our All-star Catcher beat them, especially in clutch situations…
We Need the 5-8 Hitters To Step Up!!!
Son of a…….
TRADE HIS CUBAN @SS!
Esco’s hurt. Normally he’d beat that out.
That hurt-he’s usually clutch there.
It took a lot to censor my comments A lot…
Fine. Good AB, BMac, but Yunel? WTHeck?
July 9th, 20099:22 pm
Is that really all the faster Yunel can run? I’m a big fan of his, but that looked really slow.
The Braves cannot afford to blow any of those opps.
as soon as Mac walked and Joe Simpson said “double play”
you knew Yunel was going to hit into the DP
I’m gonna have to find a Yunel Escobar replacement in our system somewhere if that’s the best he can do!
Well, that sucked
Escobar is my favorite player on this team. But, he really needs to work the MF count with the bases loaded! Sheesh. (Now if he gets a hit on the first or second pitch, you won’t hear a peep from me.)
AWFense Blowing Chances Yet again…! This (exepletive) gets old
That inning will be a deciding point in the game, “Bank On It!”
C’mon Tommy, hold ‘em to only one bomb this AB.
July 9th, 20099:23 pm
That’s the only thing that really bothers me about Yunel. That flashy stuff he does doesn’t get me but him being too aggresive and the dp’s always seem to kill a rally.
Esco looked like he was jogging that DP out. Way to hustle
I don’t think Yunel is 100%, he didn’t look too good walking back to the dugout after he scored.
He is hurt
July 9th, 20099:24 pm
Dear Brian McCann, I know you’ve been trying to be patient but with a 3 – 1 count and Yunel “El Double Playo” Escobar behind you, you have to swing. This is like Chipper not swinging on a 3 – 1 curveball in the dirt when K – Rod was pitching to him, with Francouer batting behind him in a clutch situation.
the hopes of the braves nation rest in your hands mr. hanson
yunel has been crucial for us this year….
but he has always grounded into double plays and he always will.
but inning enders with the bases loaded will lose you ball games in a second.

I’m sorry about you-know-what. I get so happy-go-lucky when I see the hyphen-key on the keyboard.
July 9th, 20099:25 pm
Yunel is playing in severe pain folks. Face it.
I’ll censor you.
The Braves are at least getting Cook’s pitch count pretty high and making him work pretty hard. If they keep that up, they’ll break through.
I still think Jeff should caught that home run ball…
July 9th, 20099:26 pm
What a stupid I am!
pay attention to the game!
I don’t want to hear any excuses!
All The People Bashing ESCO Please STFU…Dude is hurt more that most think. Hip injuries are no joke for all you people out there that have never played above little league…You Guys are feeding into the Joe Simpson school of having ESCO as the only on to be held accountable for this Garbage offense
BJE – just a thought here (after you count me among those who say JF is through as an everyday player for a near .500 or better club), but sending JF to minors for what (less than a week) was punitive/pointless/counterproductive. What a bush-league move that was-emotionally gratifying ‘though it undoubtedly was. I have read – what 300,000 posts since then – and I wonder, am I the only blogger who ever commented on the uselessness of sending a slumping player to Rome, Mississippi for a week? Just wundrin’!
How quickly we forget…
July 9th, 20099:27 pm
isn’t key-board hyphen-ated?
A few more glasses of wine and I may need it
All Bobby haters go to hell – no Bobby hater will ever be welcome in my house as long as I breathe air.
July 9th, 20099:28 pm
I will protect and defend Escobar, just like you do Schafer
A few more glasses of wine and I won’t want to censor you!
