Fair enough. I still think Frenchy is playing hard, he just is thinking too darn much. KJ plays as hard as anyone in the league and I agree he should have been benched as well. Esco is still young and immature. He is a helluva a talent and I think Bobby is forcing him to grow up or his ass will be shipped out. I just think people go a bit overboard with the criticism of these guys. Lets root for a strong second half…I don’t want Corey Hart as my RF, I’d rather have a resurging Frenchy

Did you win the lottery to attend the pervert Jacko’s services?

Don’t assume that you know my political persuasion simply because I’m concerned about the anthropogenic removal of wildlife. That doesn’t mean I’m liberal or conservative – I’m simply interested in what’s happening to the world outside of our comfortable American lives.

For the record (because YOU brought it up): I can’t stand the attention Jackson’s death is receiving. There is actual news to report on, but you wouldn’t know it from the media reaction to this guy over the past week.

Paul Lentz is real. A few weeks back, he mentioned he lived in the Bay Area or something like that.

I got on Facebook and did a search, and sure enough, there was “Paul Lentz” in San Francisco.

Needless to say, there is a very good reason he talks so much inane crap.

But Beekay, you trip over your own point. I like KJ exactly because he acts right. He’s slumping, but he’s not in the AJC whining about a lack of playing time. Instead, he’s at G-nett trying to get his stroke back. What the hell has Francoeur ever won to merit kid-glove treatment. Trade the vermin, keep the class, I say.

Typical Cox style – Keep trying to use a broken piece for months and years on end, thereby ruining the team. Then, out of the blue, get sick of it, hee haw a few times, and throw the piece away. But never ever consider trying to FIX the piece. No, that would require brains and logic (ROBERT)

I’ve been a Braves fan since the 70’s. What happened to the days that you supported the players when they were down

Beekay,

I turn around and ask the same question upon you. What happened to the day where a player supported his manager? When a struggling player admitted as much and said (no, really mean it) “I’m struggling so Bobby is giving me time to rest, clear my head, regroup. I would like to be out there, but I’m not playing well enough and am not helping the team right now….”

Instead, what we have today are a bunch of arrogant, money hoarding, a-holes like Francouer who think their respective teams owe them the kings ransom because they were God’s gift in high school and their 1st season and a half of big club action. Unfortunately, sports is a what have you done for me lately form of entertainment, and this sport, the sport that ran even Babe Ruth off it’s groomed fields, will do the same to anyone, especially a guy that has a .277 OBP, .a .342 SLG%, and kills every once of his bat to diminish every ounce of momentum his offense tries to eek out over a stretch of 9 innings of ball.

Am I supposed to be supportive of that? Maybe, and I have. But when so-called “player” shows his disgust by not being in the lineup and hints that he liked to be moved so he can continue his lame attempts at being a successful team player for another club who will be less forgiving than his home town team, then I am NOT going to be supportive of that individual. After all, with his performance and his lame excuse of not playing, he is after all, an individual in this fans eyes. I could care less at supporting that individual.

The last I checked, you are NOT guaranteed playing time on a Major League roster. I have been a huge supporter of Martin Prado and have long supported his case for playing time. I believe he deserves till the end of the season, and if fails to help the team win ballgames over the next 79 games, then I will be not be as supportive as Martin as I have been. He has not guaranteed, nor has any other major leaguer guaranteed the right to play 162 a year. You slip in your performance, you deserve to get benched. Get it? Francouer does not, and he is lucky he has a manager that does not as well.

dogsbrekky……………no doubt Jeff Lissandro has been on a roll for a number of years. However he had a lot of heartbreak at the World Series of Poker until a year ago when he won his first bracelet. This year he has been on fire.

You are correct, avoiding bad luck is a big thing in tournament poker. Whereas in cash games, you can always rebuy and as long as you play well, you’ll come out ahead. However, in tournaments, you can go through stretches where you dont win anything.

On Sunday, I had a key hand that helped me build a decent stack. I had pocket aces and another person had ace king. The flop came A-K-K. Needless-to-say, all the money went in and I was able to double up. A few hands later, I saw a guy with pocket aces lose to pocket kings when the board came A-K-3-K-7. Both players flop a set, on the turn one player gets full house while the other gets quads, lol. I’m glad I didnt have aces on that hand, lol.

Paul, I’m not looking for somebody to say “screw you god”. But the general idea of your post is what I’m getting at.

What I’d rather see, is an athlete say, I’d like to thank god for giving me the natural ability to do what I do, but I’d like to thank my trainers, my cook, my doctors and my coaches for helping me be better prepared to compete today than the other guy. But in the end, I deserve credit for working harder than the next guy.

Some may think that is pompous, or would be arrogant. But ultimately, it is usually the reality of the situation. Those better prepared to battle, usually battle better.

All this talk of Frenchie’s cursed turkey undershorts and New Jersey got me thinking. The sopranos and the braves have some parallels.

Think of the Braves as the Sopranos. I guess Chipper would be the de-facto leader of “the family”, Tony Soprano.Bobby Cox should be the leader, hence he is Corrado “junior” Soprano. (kinda can see the senility angle coming in already). Then Frenchie becomes the “Christopher Moltisanti” of the family. Chipper took him under his wing, tried getting him to learn the ways, but his attitude has gotten to him. Think of his brief demotion as the rehab. Chipper hasnt quite liked him the same since. He knows this isnt going to end alright and now that he is back to his old bad-swinging ways, Chipper will try to get him out. And once he does, just like with Tony, all this bad luck will be gone. Tony and his family will be back to winning ways. So who is Brian McCann in all this, you ask. I’m inclined to go with Silvio – silent, efficient and the consigliere. Just missing the pompadour hairstyle.

What I forgot to add in my post about athletes and praying, when I stated that the better “prepared” guy usually wins, is that I think other than a few freaks of nature, MOST professional athletes are pretty comparable in size, strength and general abilities that pertain to their respective sports. In other words, Chipper probably has as much natural “ability” to hit a baseball as Albert Pujols does. And Tom Brady is no better or worse of an athlete as Peyton Manning is.

But the guy who works the hardest, and commits to excellence, USUALLY comes out on top in the end. Now, luck (good or bad), umpiring/officiating, and supporting cast obviously has a big part in team sports.

But when a linebacker is left as the only guy between a RB and the endzone, the better conditioned and prepared athlete makes the “winning” play.

In baseball, a pitcher that is better prepared to hit the targe, and has “scouted” the hitter, will usually prevail. Same with boxers.

Very rarely does a poorly prepared athlete win or succeed consistently. Say, like Jeff Francoeur. Sure, the sun will shine on a dogs ass once in a while too. But there is a reason that some guys just don’t succeed, and others do, imo.

We’ve gotten a temporary boost from previously jackless players like Diaz and Anderson, but they have reverted to form. It will not be long until Diaz is back on the bench.

taking on additional payroll = no big trade coming that don’t create a hole to plug another. Trade Yunel and Javy Vasquez and get a outfield bat, maybe another arm in the bullpen and that’s about it. No shortstop and you’re hoping that Medlen can get you through to Hudson. We all see what happened last season when you have to hope about you starting pitching.

Give it a few spins and report back. I’m still getting into it but it is pretty good. Find myself singing it quite often. I got distracted by the new Wilco briefly but I plan to give it my full attention in the coming days and then go back to the new Wilco, which I am liking.

And did you know, iphones are freakin amazing? Gonna have to get on in Dec.

I’m not really digging this Patterson Hood record so far. I tend to like Killers and Stars better. I’m on “Pride of the Yankees”, which sounds like a Coldplay song.

LARRY – thanks, I am Australian. I sold my inv bank and retired when I was 38 and moved to USA bacuse I like Americans but thanks, keep trying to appear smart.

BTW the systemic problems the global economy faces have little to do with “debt” as you say because USA debt is and will remain at very low yields (I am a bond trader so I know).

But something you said is correct…… that would be your screen name…………

But let us just all do this… I can post my audited net worth and dick size on a public web site and you can do same…. whoever is preceived to be the lesser douche on thsi blog can stay… the other can piss off

What do you say hero

or maybe you could just shut the eff up cause there are many people out there trying hard to get by and you come across as a hateful “douche”

Gotta spin it at least 3-4 times uninterrupted before reviewing. There are some throw out songs but I think it is above average.

Well the track after “Pride of the Yankees” is “I Understand Now” which I can tell will be a favorite of mine.

Bocabrave –

Are you surprised? The gossip around many hospitals (according to staff, nurses, etc) is that doctors are egotistical jerks, and the biggest jerks gravitate towards surgery. The more important/rarer the abilities of the surgeon – the more pretentious and arrogant the doctor.

I wonder if Larry fits that stereotype… hmmmm.

About time I posted an “Enter your comments here.”

Larry the Loser – I second the dogsbreks and will do the same

actually let’s just meet in your town for a face to face in a quiet alley and see who comes out

We could measure the worth of our lives

We could see the $$$ value of your life versus mine in net assets

We could even see if you are a surgeon or just some old bigot

or are you just some hater, you hate life, you hate anyone disagreeing with your “putrid” point of view
