spectatorIt is amazing how the baseball “know nothings” on this blog have decided that the Braves big problem is Francoeur. Are you aware that he and your hero McCann have the same number of RBI? Why not trade McCann?

its funny that you would insinuate that other might not know much about the game of baseball when your post shows that you clearly dont.

first of all, brian mccann has 64 fewer at bats than jeff because of being DLed for a bit and getting plenty of days off because he is a catcher. you think that might contribute to RBI totals? plus, RBI totals can be skewed if there are always people on base for you. well, jeff bats lower than brian, so maybe jeff has so many RBI because brian is busy getting on base for him? runners not being on base when he gets hits is not his fault, its the fault of the guys not getting on base.

I’ve been a Braves fan since the 70’s. What happened to the days that you supported the players when they were down. I remember rooting for those crappy teams with crappy players. We didn’t have cable so I had to pick up the scores from the morning paper…. back then if someone made fun of one of the Braves you always defended them. It didn’t matter if they were scrubs like Andres Thomas,Bruce Bennedict, Ken Oberkfell, Glenn Hubbard, Mcmurtry, Camp , Mahler, Terry Harper, Claudell W.. Pocoroba, etc, etc. It was your team and no matter how much the guy sucked you rooted for him and hung with him. You guys need to give this Frenchy thing a rest. He is a Brave so support him. If we ship him out then boo the hell out of him but until then shut up and see if he can turn it around!!

Mark Bowman is a shill for the Braves first, MLB second, and a journalist fourth. The notion that he squashes any talk of an Escobar trade speaks directly to holding the company line regarding secrecy.

You knew Escobar was a bad “manzana” (”apple”) when he refused to play second because the pivot on a DP turn would place his left knee in danger (poor sissy). He is a prima donna playing for an organization that does not tolerate such types. Hell, even Gary Sheffield behaved himself the one year he played for the Braves, for crying out loud!

Don’t use chemo on this cancer; cut him out! Ship him off to someone who thinks they can rehab this head case. Same with Jeffy Francoeur; he doesn’t like to sit on the bench because he thinks his life is supposed to be like Parkview? Sh!t-can his a$$ and ship him off to any MLB Siberia, where he can get all the play time “widdoh Fwenchy wants”.

“What track record, LOL? Hey, there’s no doubt that Diaz should be starting instead of Francoeur, but let’s not get carried away. So far, Diaz’s “track record” is that he hasn’t done as well when given a regular’s appearances. Some of the swings last night to which you alluded might be the reason, ya think?”

What track record? The track record that says he is a lifetime .330 hitter in the major leagues. The track record that says he has a lifetime .802 OPS.

Oh I forgot Matt cant play because because he cant hit RH pitching right? Lets put that to rest right now shall we.

Matt Diaz against RH pitching this year -
.260 ave 787 OPS

Francouer against RH pitching –

.222 ave with a .575 OPS.

By all means we better get Jeffy back in there with his .575 OPS against right handers because Bobby says Matt can’t hit Righties.

.575 OPS? Are you freaking kidding me. I’ll take my chances with “Richard Simmons” against the righties instead of Jeffy.

“They like the Braves pitching and feel that the Braves will stay in the race.”

Well of course the Braves pitching will keep them in the race. It has to this point. But until the offense gets fixed (IE: new players in the lineup), or gets off their asses, nothing will change.

We had our window last week, and I suspect without major changes for the better, that 2 game defecit is as small as its going to get.

Then (as DOB kind of states), the lack of offense will take it’s toll on the pitching. So, in about 3-4 weeks, we will fall into a major tailspin. Just like last year.

Only so long that the bullpen and arms in the rotation can keep it up.

If no major moves are made, this team will finish with at least 90 losses, despite the fine pitching. With or without Vazquez.

A loss, is a loss, is a loss. Doesn’t matter if we lose 3-2 or 9-2. As Vazquez’s losing record shows. Even good pitchers can lose on bad teams, and this IS a bad team, despite the very good, all around pitching.

Diaz is in a 13 for 25, but Frenchy’s infield single last night made him 1 for his last 9, time to get his “hot hand” back in the batting order! The Cubs should do the right thing and spot the Braves 2 runs to compensate for their mentally handicapped manager.

Can David Ross play 1st base? He really needs to be able to.

Put Frenchy back in the lineup. He’s probably so p*ssed that he may actually hit the ball.

Someone needs to tell Chipper & B-Mac that they’re a huge part of the Braves problem lately.

I don’t get the Braves on TV here in Baton Rouge, do the Braves have any cute 18+ year old ball girls?

Are you Braves bloggers going to be jealous of me when football starts?
