Jman (Release Frenchy, and trade Escobar NOW!)
July 7th, 20099:53 pm
Steve… I’d love to see a guy like Alexei Ramirez at SS instead of Escobar. Granted Yunel has started to come around lately and seems to be behaving somewhat better. So as long as he keeps his nose clean and doesnt whine and pout like that fool Francoeur then keep him around. I just hate guys that aren’t team guys. They kill me. Yunel and Frenchy have acted so spoiled. At least Yunel can back it up with the bat though.
Steve from OH
Corey Hart friggin’ sucks. Please stop mentioning that clown’s name.
July 7th, 20099:54 pm
Ever since he got broke off from his contract year, Soriano has been garbage…! he looked like Loaf on that last play. he just gave up on that foul ball….I’m glad we didn’t get him!
Rob from SC (Please don't trade Escobar)
July 7th, 20099:55 pm
Take your Escobar trade comments elsewhere. Escobar will grow up. Cuba is so different from the United States. At least Escobar is a great baseball player.
There We Go Nate-Dawg!!!! Good At-Bat!
McLouth starting to show why we traded for him
McLouth making Guzman work…would be nice to see an AB like this to start the game…
Tomahawkin…………it isnt that Infante is going to save the offense. It’s the fact that he can hit…combined with the fact that Bobby will hopefully insert him in right field (taking Francoeur’s rally killing bat out of the line-up permanently). A positive added to the line-up, a negative taken out. That can only help the Braves offense.
4-3 Reds, 1 out. Ryan Howard up.
July 7th, 20099:56 pm
Keep all our pitching, trade Lowe in the offseason and then outbid everyone for Bay. Add Heyward and Freeman and World Series here we come
Bruce Chen pitched for KC tonight. Got knocked around. 7 ER n 4.66 innings, 5 walks, gave up 3 bombs. Season ERA 6.88. I was shocked when I found out that he was still in baseball…probably not for long.
Steve… I’d love to see a guy like Alexei Ramirez at SS instead of Escobar.
You gotta be jackin’ me, right? Ramirez is a below-average hitter. Yunel, on the other hand–really good for a SS. Got a great glove too. Did you know Yunel is the 5th-best offensive SS in the majors? What does Ramirez have that Yunel doesn’t?
We need to send him to Danville to take some pointers from Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg Steve
Yep. Speaking of Riaan, I see the Danville pitchers have finally started pitching around him…
Chen pitched well last time out
If you can have your (Please don’t trade Escobar) crap on your name then I can certainly have my opinion on mine. I’ve eased up on him a little since he’s finally started playing with his head and quit running his mouth. I’ve moved onto to that idiot Francoeur now. Just dont like guys who run their mouths without cause… Sound familiar?
I hate to be missing the Braves batting right now, however I have to watch the bottom of he 9th inning of the Phillies game.
July 7th, 20099:57 pm
I’d love to see a guy like Alexei Ramirez at SS instead of Escobar.
Howard walked. runner on 1st, one out. Jason Werth up.
July 7th, 20099:58 pm
And I can live with Yunel’s transgressions if he keeps performing like that. We need a few more dudes with a little fire in their bellies like him.
Rob, you make it sound so easy.
Werth flies out. 2 outs.
You’re due GA.
Jman (Release Frenchy, and trade Escobar NOW!)
You have to realize that Cuban baseball is all about entertaining the fans. It is hard to get rid of 20 plus years of duing it ine way. He will grow up. Francoeur on the other hand needs a reality check.
July 7th, 20099:59 pm
Chris, what do they say? Don’t tell me Glavine/Smoltz thing because everybody knows Glavine wasn’t wanted by ANY team after he was let go and Smoltz… have ya seen him pitch lately? Could it be the Furcal, Burnett, Peavy deals that didn’t pan out? Check out those three guys numbers this year and we should all be glad they’re not Braves. I’d say Vazquez/Lowe/JJ/McLouth/ have all worked out so far. What are they saying?
I seem to remember you being on here a couple of weeks ago talking about how you were not afraid to use your real name on the blog. Now that someone called you out on your made up WSOP story, all of a sudden Paul Lentz is a screen name! LOL!!
I know, but we need a power hitting RH
If we can clear Lowe’s contract, Trade or DFA francoeur and Johnson, we should be able to make a good offer to Bay.
Braves have a chance to get one of the those games back…Phils lose.
2 out in Philly
I think I should make up a nickname for Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg.
What do yall think about “Ri-Ri” (pronounced, “Ree-Ree”)?
July 7th, 200910:00 pm
Mitchell, it isn’t so bad if Frenchy strikes out looking: at least he saw 3 or more pitches. It’s his first or second pitch swing at balls off the plate for weak out in rf!
Rob from SC
You’re right. Maybe Chen still has a chance.
I’ve eased up on him a little since he’s finally started playing with his head and quit running his mouth. I’ve moved onto to that idiot Francoeur now. Just dont like guys who run their mouths without cause… Sound familiar?
JMan, how about you start blogging with your head, and quit running your mouth until you do? At least, Escobar is good at playing. You at blogging? Not so much.
I hope the Braves have made a deal by the time I see them against the Dodgers at the end of the month in Atlanta. If not we are in for what the Mets are going through tonite.
You really Think That Bobby would start “O” In RF…
No Offense Bro, but as long as the dumb-fan-favorite Francine is here that won’t happen “Bank On It!”
I think Infante’s biggest asset, is that he can give guys days off, and we don’t lose a ton offensively. Especially with the lack of power Chipper’s been showing this year.
He can spell McLouth in CF. He could spell (or replace) Jeff as the RH half of a platoon in RF (better arm than Diaz), he can spell Escobar, he can spell Prado or KJ, he can spell Anderson in LF.
Only two guys he doesn’t give much help to in terms of a break, is Kotchman (which Prado can provide), and McCann.
Infante is not the save all to the lineup because of his big numbers he would put up. He is the save all for the lineup, because his versatility can give the big guns days off so THEY can save our offense.
NO MORE BOBBY
Rob from SC (Please don’t trade Escobar) – I meant Hudson. Guess more people would have gotten the joke if I posted correct. Ha!
July 7th, 200910:01 pm
Looks like Andy Marte has figured it out.
Rob…..the problem is that the Red Sox can pretty much outbid anybody if they decide to keep him, whch I think they will
July 7th, 200910:02 pm
I think we should just start a petition for the Queen to create him Lord Bloemfontein.
Anderson really steps in the bucket
Working the count
Corey Hart would be our 2nd most productive OF after Nate and hits right-handed… Gamel is the key to the deal Hart just is better than what we got
Garrett has worked the count in his at-bats tonight.
If the Braves are still in it by September. It could be a big month. The Braves play 18 of 27 games against division rivals. They play 11 this month and 13 the next. The Braves are still in this division race. During those games, we play the Philles 9 more times, the Marlins 13 times, and the Mets 13 more times. We are currently 16-12 against our division rivals. We need to improve this but we still have a shot.
July 7th, 200910:03 pm
You have to realize that Cuban baseball is all about entertaining the fans. It is hard to get rid of 20 plus years of duing it ine way.
I appreciate what you’re trying to do for Yunel, but can you can it with the Cuban excuse already? That ain’t it. It’s a Yunel thing, not a Cuban thing. I’m cool with Yunel being Yunel, but not cool with the Cubans being Cubans thing.
I don’t know if you saw my comment, is it really hard to learn to throw a good two-seam fastball.
Hey braveheart… dont knock my blogging ability until you’ve actually read it. This isnt my blog. This is where I go to see other non-realistic fans whine and gripe…
July 7th, 200910:04 pm
Good At-Bat By “The Professional Hitter Known as Loaf” I’d wish more of our hitter would fight like that! Nice!
Good fight by LOAF.
WGN seems to show quite a bit of canoodling in the crowd. You almost never see that on a FOX or Peachtree telecast. Now, they show their allotment of hot babes, but not much touching. We probably just aren’t use to seeing it.
Has Fancoer ever battled like this? lol
July 7th, 200910:05 pm
Not the best result, but Loaf battled.
well, alot of time spent for nothing. Oh well, atleast we still have a lead
Get Marte for LF. Cleveland doesn’t want him.
I am not talking about Cubans, I am talking about the way they are taught to play baseball. They are taught to be flashy. Just like in Japan they are taught not to backhand the ball.
Nate and GA have both put up very good ABs this inning. Both are making sure Javy has plenty of rest before he comes back out to pitch.
Did I mention that this AWFense Blows…? Well At least Load Went down like a soldier….
July 7th, 200910:06 pm
Tomahawk Talk………I agree, the Braves are still in this race. Lots more baseball to play. Winning this game will put us 4 back.
I like Bobby’s move of leaving Vazquez in the game. We need him to get through the bottom of the 7th. Both Soriano and Gonzalez have had the past couple of days off. They should be strong for the 8th and 9th innings. Vazquez has shown that he is strong enough to throw 110-120 pitches in a game.
ok, i don’t want to see stupid Loaf batting anywhere in the first 4 spots EVER again. That’s like batting Jeff leadoff and expecting results.
July 7th, 200910:07 pm
Good outing for Scott Diamond
Black Like Me
The Braves do not need the Matt Gamel/Corey Hart combo package. They need Vasquez. Don’t get too over confident with JJ, Hudson and Hanson.
Vasquez can flat out pitch. Also, Yunel can flat out pick them at shortstop. If anything, Wren needs to put the untochable tag on both of these guys. Ask the Cubbies.
Have no interest in ever seeing your blog. Your content sucks here, so I can’t imagine it’s any better in whatever silly personal blog you have that you’ll surely abandon for lack of interest before the season ends. Can’t make fun of non-realistic fans whining and griping when all you do is whine and gripe in the most non-realistic fashion yourself
I don’t have a nickname for RSF, but how about this for Oberholtzer:
Brett “The Howitzer” Oberholtzer
July 7th, 200910:08 pm
This is probably the inning that makes or breaks…
Chipper is losing his MOJO. we really need to consider who will take his spot
For a pitchabilty guy, Diamond has been racking up the K’s…
Why didn’t Cox yank Javy?
July 7th, 200910:09 pm
If we can pull this out, we will move ahead of the Mets into 3rd place.
Lidge gives up a run in the 9th (that non save, closer thing I guess)
Steve from OH
July 7th, 2009
For a pitchabilty guy, Diamond has been racking up the K’s…
I would like to see him given a look in the AFL and then ST
Thanks WGN for the HD broadcast, Sports South is too cheap. The announcers are better as well.
July 7th, 200910:10 pm
What the hell?
That should have been two.
He wasnt showing signs of fatigue
chrisw148….how bad Wren handled the offseason??? If ignorance is bliss you must be one happy mofo.
Brooks Conrad has played a nice game, but was a little slow getting the ball out of his glove on that potential double play.
July 7th, 200910:11 pm
HOW ARE YOU 5-7 WHEN YOUR ERA IS 2.97?????????????????/// GUESS VASQUEZ WISHED HE SIGNED WITH THE BREWERS.
Braveheart… you have no clue how much my blogs are read and commented on. This is where I go to get away from it all. And then I run into fools like you who spew nonsense and believe that everyone else with an opinion is completely wrong while you are the top blog dawg. Show me some substance fool. Quit dogging on everyone else and provide us with your outlook…
Jeff321………Vazquez is a horse. He has shown this year that he can get through 7 innings. Just because a good hitter like Aramais Ramirez gets a single, does not mean that Vazquez is going to have a meltdown inning. I’d rather see Vazquez pitching now than Moylan.
July 7th, 200910:12 pm
In general it isn’t hard to learn, but like anything else some master it and some don’t. Each players mechanics influence what pitches they throw and which have the best effect. Javy seems to be having some better results at keeping it down and that may be from working with McDowell who threw a lot of worm-killers in his day. Let’s hope so..
Bold prediction: Javy puts 2 baserunners on, Moylan comes in and gives up a gapper and Javy gets the L. Bank on it.
I still feel like there isn’t enough being said about Paul Lentz lying about being in the WSOP. I don’t know if I should laugh or feel sorry for him.
Javy for Cano
Watching this team all year, I just don’t think one bat will make that much of a difference. We have no power at all.
“Corey Hart would be our 2nd most productive OF after Nate and hits right-handed.” Goodoleboy
First of all, you’re wrong. He’s BARELY better than Loaf and Jeff. As far as I’m concerned, he’s NOT better than Loaf, because he’s had about 100 more PA’s than him. And he’s NOT better than Diaz.
Hart: 329 PA, 9 HR, 35 RBI, .249/.320/.420/.740
Jeff: 312 PA, 5 HR, 35 RBI, .247/.280/.342/.622
Loaf: 223 PA, 5 HR, 30 RBI, .279/.305/.419/.714
Best case scenario, he’s a better platoon partner with Load, and Diaz should play everyday.
Diaz: 171 PA, 4 HR, 22 RBI, .311/.382/.477/.859
Why would we trade for Cory Hart, when we’ve already got Diaz’s bat on our team, which is likely better? Jeff can come in for late inning defense.
July 7th, 200910:13 pm
Hmm…each team is allowed 7 players in AFL (one A-ball player)…I figure Heyward, Freeman, Johnson, Rohrbough, and Cordier will be there. Perhaps Hoover will be our A-baller? Don’t leave too many slots for Diamond…
chrisw148……….Javier Vazquez didnt “sign” with the Braves. The Braves got him in a trade with the White Sox.
7 innings of 1 run ball
Hey, you guys wanna know why this isn’t like a playoff game?
Because if it were a playoff game Wrigley Field would be empty. They would have all left after the opposing team took a lead.
July 7th, 200910:14 pm
“HOW ARE YOU 5-7 WHEN YOUR ERA IS 2.97?????????????????/// ”
Remember when Nolan Ryan led the NL in ERA in 1987 and went 8-16?
You know what I do like about Loaf’s defense? I love and respect the fact that he usually uses two hands when catching the ball. To many show offs that the young kids emulate.
Now if he could just cover more ground….
If you don’t know what I am talking about, which obviously you dont, you are ignorant of the facts.
Because of injuries I don’t see them putting Rohrbough, and Cordier in the AFL.
Lars Taint……….say what you want. I know what time it is. And I know what I said.
1 out from putting in a VERY nice performance for Javy here.
We needed Diaz tonight. How does he get benched?
July 7th, 200910:15 pm
Come on Javy.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
