here's an idea - we can't get much for Frenchy - Johnson has been an outfielder - And seemed to hit better when he came up as an outfielder - keep conrad up - play prado at second and at first - send Frenchy down bring Brandon Jones back up and see what he can do while kelly is on the dl - we don't need to make some crazy trade just to get something for frenchy - send him down for at least three weeks - he'll be hurt at first and after two weeks he'll start to work on his swing - if it doesn't work, we aren't getting much for him anyway - non tender him and brandon Jones may become potential trade bait for a payroll slashing club by the 31st

Just got up and skimmed through the postings about yesterday's game, and about possibly trading Escobar. I was busy yesterday trying to survive my "Day 1" of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker here at The Rio Casino in Las Vegas, so I didnt get to engage in the back and forth banter of the events of yesterday concerning the Braves. For those of you interested, I made it through my Day 1. Today is the last of the "Day 1s". I'll play again on Wednesday for the 2nd of the "Day 2s".

Anyway, the Braves do not need to trade Yunel Escobar. The Braves need right handed power. I seriously doubt that the Braves could trade Escobar and get a corresponding player who is of equal value. I could care less about him not being the best person to get along with. He has pop in his bat, delivers in the clutch, has a cannon of an arm, and will only get better as a player. Plus he has one more year after this before he is eligible for salary arbitration. The Braves would be FOOLS to trade Escobar. I do not see Frank Wren as being a "fool".

Derek Lowe will work out his struggles. He just needs to work out his mechanics and get his sinker sinking properly. I'd rather see him struggle now, when other teams in our team are struggling as well, then struggle in August and September. He isnt hurt. He's just in a little funk that he needs to work through. He will be fine.

Baba,
That's a different point of view and I somewhat agree. I always appreciated baseball because it was not a "style over substance" game. If that's what's important to some, we have an NBA franchise in town...

I will take good players, regardless of "energy level". You must've hated Barry Sanders.

You sound like a sheep that just follows the flock. I never "set" on a bench. Explain what you mean by "high energy"? Chest bumps? What skill in baseball could you do better with "high energy"? Waiting?

Whats with all this learn English crap? Angel Cabrera wins the the US Open and the Masters and people say the same. Boo Weekly doesn't speak English either yet no one gets on his case. As long as Yunel plays the game as he does...who cares?

Baba O'Riley...do you really believe that baseball does not require"inflated energy"? You sound like a guy with no talent who sets on the bench and collects splinters in his butt. The Braves are a low energy team that is boring as hell. I will take "inflated energy" players any day over some of the Braves players.

Moving to the Orange Bowl will further alienate the fans to the north. Palm Beach County and Broward County fans will go to fewer games after the shine of the new stadium wears off. I think you will see some "convert" to Rays fans. Marlins are putting a lot of eggs in the Latino basket down here.
