I’ve been picking McLouth for my ESPN fantasy baseball team lately. However, I kind of figured that he wouldnt be in the line-up so I didnt pick him. I was right.
Enough of Francoeur and his stupid A$$ underwear. I dont want to hear about what kind of drawers our no hitting right fielder is wearing. Hit a freaking home run more than once every 3 weeks or so……..then you can maybe talk about wearing some gay A$$ underwear.
How can a grown man who has only hit 5 homers all year have the “nerve” to say that his “lucky underwear” is helping he Braves win. How about you tell those mofo drawers to help you hit some freaking homers. If our line-up had some right handed power, then maybe we could win a few more games.
DOB is it safe to assume that if Schafer has a hot stretch going into the break, that we won’t be at AAA for very long? Or with McLouth on board, do you think they intend on leaving him down for the remainder of the season?
thats a sign that Cox has no authority among his players
Oh, brother…players take themselves out of the lineup all the time. Chipper does it, too. Maybe, just maybe, Escobar doesn’t want to hurt himself even more by playing.
So now you want to trade Escobar for another wife beater? What is it with you people? Headstrong young player i a problem, but no problem with guys who abuse women? Sheesh!
it looks weird the way this has gone down with him and Cox over the past few days. (Salamander)
It only looks weird if you buy into that crap about Bobby punishing him.
The only other option is that he did bench himself lying about being hurt, and if that is the case he needs to be traded ASAP, because that would be total egocentric BS.
“gee, so much for all that “punishment” Bobby was unfairly handing out by “benching” him. Wonder where all that started anyway? Funny how so many posters just “know” what is happening in the locker room all the time.”
Exactly what I was thinking. That’s one thing I try to stay away from, not assuming I know what’s going on in that locker room, but the way some folks talk I would think they know these players personally.
“gee, so much for all that “punishment” Bobby was unfairly handing out by “benching” him. Wonder where all that started anyway? Funny how so many posters just “know” what is happening in the locker room all the time.”
It doesn’t take a washed up catcher to know the Braves have been feeding the announcers and this website with anti-Yunel crap.
Man, Blanco really sucks. I hate that after watching his relative impotence last year in lineup he’s somehow found his way into the starting lineup again.
I just love the way Blanco works the count……….he is good on that. Braves will get rid of that guy……..but I can assure you he will become a very good leadoff hitter.
Could Chipper be slumping because of NOT being on the DL….I mean it’s a crazy idea but this year has got to be the first where he played almost every game in June.
Gregor might not give you a lot but he does work the count often and usually makes contact and that’s a hell of a lot more than you can say for Schafer and DH and Jeff and oh yeah, Kelly Johnson.
Rodney, I don’t know what to tell you, other than he told me, two TV stations, and everyone else within listening range (including MLB.com writer) that he did NOT wear the stupid underwear today. Did not. Negatory. No. Period.
ave you ever WATCHED Prado play defense? He’s horrible. (PWH)

Does Chance the Manager really and truly believe that the Braves are a better team with Blanco in CF as opposed to Diaz? Blanco brings nothing to the table. Diaz at least can hit. As I write this, Blanco butchers a ball in center. Way to go Booby.
At some point this season, KJ is going to hit to his established level. Prado, on the other hand, is never going to be much of an offensive contributor. Might as well let KJ work his way out of his slump. At least he walks sometimes.
Don’t care how close the Braves are to the division lead. As long as the Nose Picker in Chief is also the Decider in the Dugout, this team is headed for a 4th place finish in the division.
Chances are at least 50-50 that the Braves’ season ends this week. Hope I’m wrong. Maybe the rotation will make up for all the other problems, most of all the genius Hall of Fame manager.
Yeah, Blanco’s not going to win any Gold Gloves, people. But at least he hits a ton….
Rodney, by “MLB guys,” are you referring to the TV people? Because I just asked Bowman, and he didn’t write that. He was told same as the rest of us — he didn’t wear them.
If you’re listening to what MLB TV guys are saying, you’re hearing info that’s second-hand. They’re just reading what was supposed to happen (i.e., he said he was going to wear them) and not what actually happened. The network has no representative here, so they wouldn’t know until they read later what we’ve written (or unless they came on the blog and saw it already).
It’s only an error if there’s a reasonable expectation that you make the play. In Blanco’s case, there is no reasonable expectation that he makes a play, even on a ball hit directly at him when he doesn’t have to move aimed directly at his glove.

Interesting stat from Joe, the Braves are the only team to not have a player hit 10 home-runs. Thats embarrassing. Doesn’t surprise me, this is one of the worst offensive lineups ive ever seen put on a field.
1. Blanco – need I say more? He wouldn’t be on any other teams minor league squad, also cant field particularly well.
2. Prado – career .280 hitter which isn’t bad but no speed or power and limited defensive range.
3. Chipper – old, slow, no power, declining stats, bad defense, and piss poor attitude.
4. McCann – overrated in general but is a good offensive catcher, bad defensively.
5. Garrett – old, bad defense, slow, no power.
6. Kotchman – Worst offensive 1B in the majors, slow, absolutely NO power.
7. Frenchy – need I say more?
8. Diory – Horrible hitter, career minor leaguer, decent defender, no speed or power.
KJ – sucks equally in the field and at the plate.
Diaz – hustles but not great defensively, swings at everything, career .270 hitter with minimal power.
McLouth – decent average but all around good player now injury bug has taken him out.
Yunel – good hitter, good defender, piss-poor attitude but along with McLouth & McCann, he is one of the 3 bright spots.
I think Yunel is really injured and he doesn’t want to go out there and play injured. I think that is a good thing. Sometimes pain is distracting. (KIRK)
