Man, I know everyone gets on Kotchman a lot and the dude’s got no power. But I really like the guy. I’d rather keep him for a long time and find power elsewhere.
“Francoeur’s not wearing them, has never worn them under his actual uniform, and didn’t even wear them to the ballpark today as originally planned” — DOB
The Lowe collision of his body part with the baseball (and Chipper’s reaction) reminded me of the Reds’ Duane Walker about 30 years ago, sliding in to make a catch. But the ball hit him in the jewels instead. He lay there on the ground, rubbing a fairly sensitive part of himself when he realized the cameras were on him. He looked up right into the high first base camera with a huge sheepish grin. I was laughing too hard to notice if Pete+Skip were laughing too. But I bet they were.
Thank you God for Rob from SC. How refreshing. You are the first person to sound reasonable on how to improve our team. You represent the voice of hope I am **not hearing** from Steve and his pathetic fanboys like Wayne and Braveheart. How very, very lame.
To Wayne: I could care less if he is **respected** on this message board. He has *no* credibility with me without stating Cox must go. Cox is responsible for putting together these lineup cards that lead to no hitting. We have hitters with much better on base percentages that Bobby *prefers* not to play for players like Jeff Francoeur and Kelly Johnson. If you have not yet realized this, PLEASE think about that.
Wayne, Regarding your comment: I find it very pathetic to look for respect on a message board if you are not actually contributing to the ways to improve the Braves. As far as I see it, Braveheart is just a loser who spends his life on a message board with ZERO cojonas to call it like it is with our team, so that powers that be can and will improve our team!!
Wayne, by your comment I can tell that you obviously suck too. My advice to you is to learn to think for yourself and *quit it* with the message board gang mentality. It makes me lose all respect for what you stand for.
Have to agree with the other post as well regarding DLowe..nice to see him back on track!
Also, Prado has now got my stamp of approval from now on..hands down that 2B position should be his. Not sure where that leaves Kelly Johnson but frankly I don’t really care.
Here is my concern about not selling at the deadline. I understand that there are great players in the Major Leagues that have been selected as compensation picks for lost Free Agents. But look how many are not stars. With several teams in the race needing relievers we should get really good prospects back for Gonzalez and/or Soriano. I would not trade Vazquez, but instead would try to trade Lowe. There are people on here that think Lowe is untradable but I disagree. If we did get a bat to play LF that won’t make Johnson, Kotchman and Francoeur hit.
Steve, I don’t know stats better than you. You are just much more perceptive and can figure it out without wasting hours upon hours tearing it apart and examining it inside and out the way I have to.
Just out of curiousity…do you think that playing Jeff Francoeur over Matt Diaz makes Bobby Cox worthy of getting fired after winning 2007 games and 14 division titles?
You might as well go ahead and lose any respect for me, too, while you’re at it. That way, I can sleep easy, knowing that the person who most recently found the 2001 Bill James Handbook in the bargain bin has cast me aside.
Ignorance, the lack of available knowledge, is a curable condition. Stupidity, the inability to process available knowledge, is not. Jury’s still out on you, but I’m guessing the verdict is the latter.
How’s that, numbletard? You want to tango, or just adjust your dress?
He’s lucky Lew’s not here, Wayne. You saw what he did to Shaun, and I personally thought Shaun had insightful things to say. Plus he seems like a nice guy…
If anybody cares, he does plan to wear them tomorrow. Said if the Braves can get through this game tonight without him wearing them today, they’ll be in good shape. Besides, he said you can’t go to the well too often, which is why he was reluctant to wear them two games in a row, even if they’d been clean or he’d had time or the motivation to run the dryer.
Wow, really can’t believe I’ve written so much about the man wearing holiday-themed underwear.
Prado and Blanco Are The Only ones who showed up on AWFense tonight…We gotta get the linup clicking altogether if we are gonna make a run, not just 1-2 guys per night…
His streakiness would lead me to believe its more mental than physical. When he is doing good I don’t think its because he’s lucky.
