A. 3 guys pitching like aces (TH, JJJ, JV)

B. 1 Guy pitching like a #2 pitcher (KK)

C. 1 Guy pitching like a #3 pitcher (DL)

D. 2 Guys pitching like closers (Soriano + Gonzo)

E. 3 guys doing good middle relieve: OFlaherthy + Moylan + Acosta

How the hell arent we in 1st place???

Hey. Whaddya know? These guys have enough speed for Bobby to actually make sh!t happen, when he wakes up and let/orders them.

Nothing like waiting until late June to realize that your 25 man roster isn’t the roster that you can wait for the 3-run HR with.

Somebody make sure that Bobby hasn’t been given a sedative and one of the players aren’t calling the shots.

Nice summary of the Braves needs. I’m not as confident about first base as you, but Casey does bring gold glove defense everyday. Truth be told, if we had decent outfield production, Casey’s lack of power wouldn’t look like such a glaring need (as many have pointed out).

Chill out – pitchers argue strike calls all the damn time. Nothing unusual or inappropriate by Hanson there.

I guess one person’s “nothing unusual or inappropriate” is another person’s “showing up” or “unprofessional”. Well hitters react to calls too, I’ll just add that. But I want to know where the line is drawn because it seems to me Hanson hasn’t been here long enough to come back at the umps yet.

Dammit, I missed a homerun. I wondered what everybody was talking about.

That’s something you gotta see first-hand, doesn’t happen every day.

Seriously, everybody needs to give it up to GA. He may not impress based on his expressions of casualness or whatever but he’s been hitting the ball all over the place.

Again as I said before though, why couldn’t he have just done that in the 9th inning?

He did double but Chipper hits a homerun and GA hits a homerun. Not the greatest of timing guys.

Leave GA and Escobar alone—those two are at least a threat and are producing at the plate. With Chipper and McCann, they represent our only consistent bats. Hopefully, Nate will keep plugging away. Besides those five players, we got nothing.

Instead of focusing on things like a lack of hustle from GA or Escobar flinging his bat, THE ANNOUNCERS AND MOST OF THE FOLKS ON THIS BLOG NEED TO TAKE NOTE OF OUR MAJOR PROBLEMS AND BENCH FRANCOEUR, KJ, AND KOTCHMAN AND BRING SOMEONE OFF THE BENCH OR SOMEONE, ANYONE FROM THE MINORS TO PLAY RF, 2B, AND 1B. And Jeff costs us a run again. Or at least a runner at 3B with less than two outs.

THAT is why this team is NOT going to win squat this year.

This team needs to be gutted of the guys that not only don’t perform, but don’t think.

I (along with some others), have stated many times that if 3 or 4 of the guys on this 25 man roster were simply replace with LEAGUE AVERAGE guys, we’d have a winning record.

It’s that simple. We have two guys (Jeff and KJ) who just aren’t good ball-players. Then when you add that to guys being hurt, and other guys that are probably alright on good teams, but not good enough to make up for the rest of the crap on the roster (Garret, Kotchman – love his glove), it just makes for a team that can’t sustain rallies or winning streaks.

We’ve got the pitching to hang with anybody. ANYBODY. But this lineup has to be the worst lineup that the Braves have had since the late 80’s. Possibly even worse than some of those squads.

I’ve seen that play they’re talking about. ‘78 world series, reggie jackson let’s the ball hit off him and goes into foul territory and an extra runs scores.

That’s the Yankees, they get away with it. Always have always will.

And you’d think if you’re Reggie Jackson and you hit three homeruns on three pitches to clinch the the world series a year before against the very same team, you wouldn’t stick your ass out to let the ball go into foul territory like a bush leaguer.

Sort of like something A-Rod would do.

Apparently “all I’m saying is…” is unaware of GA’s -17.1 UZR/150, his -.6 WAR (right on par with Frenchy) and his -5 +/- over the last three years. That’s not accounting for this awful, awful defensive season. Meanwhile, Kotchman actually has a postitive WAR and was 2nd overall among 1B with a +31 in the +/- statistic.

Yeah, GA is producing and Casey sucks, all right. Casey ain’t a great 1B, but he’s a heck of a lot more valuable to this team than GA right now.
