she looks like maria bello. hot chick that likes beer. though if you dont look like sidney crosby or malkin. good luck.
Torchwood? Never heard of it, but I don’t watch much TV other than baseball, the news, and cartoons so not a big surprise. (Salamander)
It’s a BBC production Sci-fi show that takes place in Cardiff. Originally a spinoff from Dr Who I believe a few years ago. I watch no tv at its scheduled times. I download a lot burn them to DVD and watch a bunch of the same show at one time.
June 27th, 20092:56 am
Sounded like fun…your wife taking you to see that game.
Salamander, my partial British friend
If you were to throw out all of the cartoons, and some of the news, then we’d agree, totally, on our TV watching.
June 27th, 20092:58 am
cabravesfan— Good night, my love
June 27th, 20092:59 am
what happened to esco today?
It could be the fact that he knows he’s got to be nearly perfect to win. The run support is poor..Frenchy, KJ, GA…See ya!

If you were to throw out all of the cartoons, and some of the news, then we’d agree, totally, on our TV watching (TOM)
you know, the funny thing is that there are a whole lot of TV shows that I like on now. I never used to watch it much, but I like detectives, forensics etc so now is as good as it gets for me. I just refuse to watch them except at my convenience. Gee I wish the recordable DVD had been invented first instead of all those messy blurry tape types. God knows how often I’ve recopied some of that stuff through different formats. Now that I’ve gotten so old that I will never have the time to rewatch all the product I own, I have the nearly perfect format top (not) watch them on.
What can I say? I like animated gibberish… Really only 2 cartoons which I like:
(1) Venture Brothers – probably my favorite show on TV
(2) Family Guy
The plot holes are just as big (if not bigger) on cartoons, but they bother me less than shows with real people.. I hate most of the rest of the stuff that’s on TV, and pretty much everything that comes out of Hollywood.
Partially British? I’m culturally American (been here a while), but my passport is still issued by the United Kingdom.
June 27th, 20093:05 am
hong kong fooie,
number one super guy?
June 27th, 20093:07 am
uga-brave… “what happend to eco today?”
I don’t know, read Bit!*
June 27th, 20093:10 am
Well the blog ate my post adding to my comments regarding TV shows… anyway, I like British detective shows (Inspector Morse was one of my favorite), but Americans shows are overly dramatic and generally implausible. When people put CSI on I want to die a quick death… hate that show. Law and Order is OK, but I’ve seen most of them at this point.
a friend to you and I.
June 27th, 20093:12 am
Eat more posts? Lets see…
he hurt his hip about 3 different times on Thursday…nothing serious…he just aggravated it. Night off I presume…he’ll probably play this afternoon.
June 27th, 20093:16 am
got a hunch that bobby is tired of his antics. love his talent, but you know. he is somewhat BORING.
Man, I’m not sure where to start. I figured at this time of night, who’d even listen to me? Instead, I’ve got a response or two. OK, number one, I still strip down & slather on the blue clay when girding up for the blog wars. — nolie OK, I have no answer to this post. It just took me awhile, after several antacids, to just be able to type it. I feel that is an accomplishment on its own.
The Phillies lose 9/10 and have a closed door meeting after the game….we lose 4/5 and do NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 27th, 20093:18 am
Trust me they showed Escobar a couple times tonight….he didn’t look to be benched….he really did hurt himself Thursday…diving for a ball and running out 2 infield hits….he was safe on 1. Either way he’s not the least of their problems.
June 27th, 20093:22 am
he is walking a thin line.
too bad, he is borderline the best hitter on the team.
June 27th, 20093:27 am
bravos2249 & uga-brave
are you guys discussing whether or not, Esco, is hurt or is being disciplined?

you handled that like a man, TOM> you know the Celts used to paint themselves with woad- a blue pigment-and often fought naked, so I am simply continuing a time-honored tradition from my ancestors. Some of yours too likely.
June 27th, 20093:35 am
Can’t really call it that when obviously the guy didn’t watch the last 2 games….Whether he was benched or not he DID get hurt Thursday. You don’t bend over in pain about 4 times and expect to play the next day.
June 27th, 20093:52 am
Wow! A hot nurse with a job and from Pennsylvania too. Sounds right up my alley, but I don’t look like them guys you mentioned. Much better looking. I could use a good nurse in my old age. Wonder if she’ll move to Fla>
June 27th, 20093:57 am
I’m sorry, XM is playing a “live” version of, Iron Butterfly’s, “In A Godda Divida”, that is actually longer than their 18 minute album cut. I’ll be back in about 20 minutes. Oh, I’m playing the drums to it, forgot to mention that.
June 27th, 20094:06 am
> you know the Celts used to paint themselves with woad- a blue pigment-and often fought naked, so I am simply continuing a time-honored tradition from my ancestors. Some of yours too likely.
nolie, my friend, and distant brother. If what you’re saying is true, logic would dictate, then, why we are not controlling the world.

Man, I’d quit drinking for a coupla weeks. Then, the Extra Innings package struck. And, worse, this blog turned borderline unreadable. Could our boys play any worse? I guess I’m trying to say: buy Canadian Mist stock.
UGA, how’s that for financial advice? And, shut up about your freakin’ wife (jealous much?). I’m on a computer after midnight, on a weekend, and was kicked out of the bar last night, empty-handed, for being “obnoxious.” On the other hand, please elaborate on this Maria Bello look-alike.
And, a thought similar to Nolie’s came to mind: what kind of lawyer can she be if she married a guy who drinks more than I do?
June 27th, 20094:14 am
I bet UGA wisely hid the whiskey jones till they got hitched.
June 27th, 20094:17 am
For what it is worth, the FOX game of the week, in the NY area, at least, is the Red Sox vs. Braves. I’m thinking that most of the country is going to see that game. (weather permitting)
I’ve always enjoyed your Saturday-Fox rants. At the moment, I’m thinkin’ a day off from watching this team might be a good thing. Does this make me a bad fan?
Run Heap Run,
I’ve never checked the vent, but great find about Bennett’s pitching/non-pitching hand.
Though, I am conflicted. A month or so ago, I posted that he needed to go. Then, he threw me a ball during BP in San Francisco (let’s not ask why a 31-year-old was asking for a ball during BP). And, he actually pitched far better for a while. Lately, not so much.
I am starting to think that he would do better if Bobby would stop using him as the ground-ball guy. Bases empty, I tkink he’d be serviceable.
your and idiot.
June 27th, 20094:22 am
I get the feeling that come the All-Star break we’re gonna get what we all want…and that is a house cleaning by Frank Wren.
If Kansas City wants Jeff Francoeur so bad, then hell…we’ll take 2 or 3 prospects for him, and they don’t have to be their top prospects. Maybe a couple middle tier prospects and one current player on their 40-man roster. KC has a pitcher at the AA level named Greg Holland that I have heard mentioned recently, the word is that he is very close to making the majors as a reliever that throws mid to high 90’s gas. We’ll gladly take him now in the pen so we can give Jeff Bennett the pink slip.
Then on top of that we package Gonzo and Kelly Johnson (if not Kelly, then maybe Matt Diaz) to a suitable contender for prospects and a major leaguer.
As far as a new manager, I’m ready for Bobby to go home. All due respect to the man but it’s time. And when he goes, I don’t want any of his guys (TP or Eddie Perez) taking..we need to completely clean the slate…that may be something that would have to wait till the off-season.
nolie, makes sense.
Perhaps I should try hiding all of my character-flaws. Well, I could try, but nobody can hide that many; refill?
Run Heap, I’m starting to wonder about your DOB-curse theory.
DOB, can we get some sort of “The Braves May Never Win Again” blog?
Or, even better, a “Robert Won’t Ever Post Again” blog?
June 27th, 20094:25 am
That sounds like a sensible plan, BAS.
Nate the GR8
June 27th, 20094:30 am
You need some more to drink dude you are starting make sense.
June 27th, 20094:32 am
The bravery of the Celts in battle is legendary. They often spurned body armour, going naked into battle. Celtic society was typically more equal in terms of gender roles. Women were on more or less equal footing as men, being accomplished warriors, merchants and rulers. Other Roman historians tell us more of the Celts. Diodorus notes that:
Bronze ShieldTheir aspect is terrifying…They are very tall in stature, with rippling muscles underSpear head clear white skin. Their hair is blond, but not naturally so: they bleach it, to this day, artificially, washing it in lime and combing it back from their foreheads. They look like wood-demons, their hair thick and shaggy like a horse’s mane. Some of them are clean-shaven, but others – especially those of high rank, shave their cheeks but leave a moustache that covers the whole mouth and, when they eat and drink, acts like a sieve, trapping particles of food…The way they dress is astonishing: they wear brightly coloured and embroidered shirts, with trousers called bracae and cloaks fastened at the shoulder with a brooch, heavy in winter, light in summer. These cloaks are striped or checkered in design, with the separate checks close together and in various colours.
Bronze Helmet[The Celts] wear bronze helmets with figures picked out on them, even horns, which made them look even taller than they already are…while others cover themselves with breast-armour made out of chains. But most content themselves with the weapons nature gave them: they go naked into battle…Weird, discordant horns were sounded, [they shouted in chorus with their] deep and harsh voices, they beat their swords rhythmically against their shields.
Celtic HelmetOrdinary Celtic soldiers, often naked except for golden neck torcs, worked themselves into a fury before entering into battle and then fought wildly like beasts. After battle a victorious Celt would ride off with the heads of slain enemies dangling from the neck of his horse. Later, the heads would be nailed to the doors of their homes or embalmed with cedar oil in order to be publicly displayed. Typically, this preservation treatment of heads was reserved for distinguished, high-ranking enemies. Diodorus also describes how the Celts cut off their enemies’ heads and nailed them over the doors of their huts, as Diodorus states:
In exactly the same way as hunters do with their skulls of the animals they have slain…they preserved the heads of their most high-ranking victims in cedar oil,
keeping them carefully in wooden boxes
Bay Area Steve, cabravesfan is long gone. Tomorrow’s Fox game is the Red Sox vs Braves, at least here, in the northeast. If she can’t get it, get on the blog. She’ll let you know.
RHR, is also, long gone. She may be back by mid-morning. Try telling her about how much you appreciate her post then.
As far as “Robert” goes, I, for one, will not argue with you.
June 27th, 20094:36 am
my above post was to you about the Celts not to STEVE OH. I had typed in his name a bit ago to make a post and then didn’t do it, but forgot to erase it when I posted to you. Sorry.
June 27th, 20094:41 am
Before I read the 85 paragraphs of N8, no I mean nole, I just have a question (nobody’s around). You said you have a friend that goes to games with you, that likes the Braves, also. Is she the one that shows up on the blog, as “lagnamor”? Or is that just you when the dyslexia really kicks in?
June 27th, 20094:44 am
OK, nolie, I understand, but did you have to shout it all?
June 27th, 20094:45 am
Can’t be sensible, Roman; must be obnoxious; a professional told me so.
Anybody seen that Ron White bit about bouncers and Roadhouse? Good stuff.
Actually, damn near anything from Ron White is good stuff; best stand-up performing today, methinks (miss ya Bob,j), since Chris Rock hung ‘em up. Which reminds of another great White bit: if they die (his rich in-laws), “you’ll never see my fat-ass again.” I’ll drink to that.
I think if I had this blog, I’d do it nearly the same. My only change would be stand-up material in place of the music. Luckily, for the world, I’m too lazy to do it. Then, of course, is the fact that nobody would read it. Other than that, it’s a solid idea. Sort of like Robert telling Cox how to manage. Same, but different (miss ya too, jjs).
June 27th, 20094:48 am
NADY out with TJ surgery, may miss most or all of next year too. Guess it’s a good thing we didn’t get him.
June 27th, 20095:09 am
Well, she does read the blog…
June 27th, 20095:11 am
Tom Petty is hosting this show on X M as we speak. He just played “True Love Ways” , by Buddy Holley (sp). I’m 31 and grew up listening to late 60’s and early 70’s. I morphed into jazz rock and progessive jazz.
The thing is, the more I listen to music, the more I want to go back into time. Is that weird? I really loved the “original” version of “True Love Ways”. I thought it was a “Peter and Gordon” original. It’s just that I want to go back to the beginning, rather than what’s happening now. Am I messed up? Is that normal, or abnormal? Don’t worry, I’ll only consider answers from a select few of you.
June 27th, 20095:12 am
Ok, when you say professional, do you mean a real professional or an Anders-like professional?
June 27th, 20095:14 am
Man, I just realized I screwed up my own joke (or drivel, as it may be). Only an hour later, by the way; pretty good for an alcoholic.
For accuracy’s sake, I was trying to imply that I hope to never see a Robert post again.
To reiterate: I’d rather read 755 Anders’ posts, than one more of Robert’s.
And, to the dude who said the Braves might be on Fox on the west-coast tomorrow: I appreciate you givin’ me the palpitations, I really do. Luckily, I’ve checked, and I get The Great Chicago Rivalry, so I can go play golf, all the while knowing that when I return, even if the Braves have lost, I won’t have to watch another error, or another 0-2 strike, or another Jeff Francoeur broken-bat.
June 27th, 20095:18 am
ADY out with TJ surgery, may miss most or all of next year too. Guess it’s a good thing we didn’t get him. nolie
I’d say so.
June 27th, 20095:19 am
Dang…that 5:18 is about as bad of a failure as one could possibly have.
No wait, I could’ve added a smiley face…
June 27th, 20095:21 am
Is there really someone that posts with that name?
June 27th, 20095:26 am
Roman Gal, listen, you long-legged, young, smart-witted, Braves fan ……… good answer!
p.s. I hope Jordan Schafer becomes a super star, and you and he have a boy and a girl.
June 27th, 20095:31 am
an Anders mention by both of us. Sad, really. The dude does get his attention, as I’m sure is his goal. Still a numbletard, though. And a douche-bag. Sorry to the folks who don’t want use of that word. I tried, I really did. I even backspaced to go with numbletard. But, I’m drunk, and it applies, perhaps more so than to any other being (including Dayn Perry; sorry scoots).
By the way scoots, I know you’re frustrated with the direction the blog has taken; I think many of us are (OK, I am, but I shouldn’t speak for anybody else here). But, you’ve created a following for yourself here (of that, I will speak for others), and you owe it to us to keep contributing. Your own priorties be damned; you created the monster. You too, Braveheart, Steve from Ohio, Efrim, DOB, Carroll. Man, listing names is numbletardish, I know I’m going to forget more than I remember, so I’ll stop.
And, this applies to anybody else who posts worthwhile stuff; you know who you are. (It occurs to me that everybody, including me, thinks their stuff is meaningful, but those of you to whom this is directed, you know who you are.) For clarification: MFin09, please feel free to stop at any time.
Roman Gal, I’m surprised you’re still around. I promise that I’ll stay until you depart, being there’s nobody else around. You asked me @ 5:21 if anyone else posts, with that name? You’re kidding right?
June 27th, 20095:32 am
You always know just the right thing to say!
June 27th, 20095:33 am
Oh, and Roman, I wanted to come up with something about professionals, and “servicing important clients.” But, I forgot, and now that I remember, don’t have the wit. Hopefully, you’ve got something, or bubdylan is still around.
June 27th, 20095:36 am
I only mentioned him because I know how high he ranks on your “Favorite-Bloggers List”.
Bay Area Steve—
Don’t worry. McFann has this interpreter that is unbelievable. She’ll be able to put your last post into it, and be able to tell us all (including you) what you just said. Amazing stuff!
June 27th, 20095:39 am
Oh, BTW, BAS, once McFann interprets your post, I’ll be sure to get back to you. That is, of course, if your post was directed to me in anyway, at all.
June 27th, 20095:40 am
I guess I don’t really pay much attention to who posts most of the time. If I don’t feel the need to respond, I usually just skip over their names. What has this person been saying? Hopefully nothing bad about me! Then again, I’m sure I’ve made my fair share of enemies…
I’ll probably be around until I crash at about 8pm. I’m making a pie right now, and it’s being difficult…
June 27th, 20095:51 am
June 27th, 20095:53 am
I’ll probably think of something around 4 o’clock. Then I’ll come to the computer and it’ll be lost in the oblivion of moronic less than stellar posts.
RG, I seriously doubt if you have any enemies. You may have some that (both male & female) are envious of your wit and popularity. That can easily happen to anyone that appears to be popular on the blog, to someone that is jealous. I have already changed my moniker, oddly enough, to my real name (well, almost).
June 27th, 20095:56 am
New Doctor Who tonight. Will Torchwood have new episodes too? So Can Bobby be transformed into Eddie Perez or Phil Waldman? Give Braves some fire. Unload the Loaf. We can not digest his lazy play any longer, no matter how occasionally professional his hitting.
June 27th, 20095:59 am
Key Lime Pie. The problem I’m encountering is that I don’t like it, so I can’t tell if it tastes right…
Also Furman is right. It is time to do a Herschel Walker type trade with Chipper.
June 27th, 20096:00 am
How are we four games back? Unreal.
Ya know, it’d be awful fitting for the Braves to get hot, slide into the Wild Card real late, and win a World Series. How many times, over the years, were they head-and-shoulders better than the rest of the league, only to get beat by a hot team in post-season? I imagaine I could cope with the other side of that particular coin.
Then, of course, is the fact that we’ve all seen this team play half a season, and that this scenario is nearly as likely to happen with Washington as it is with us. But a drunk can dream right?
Bay Area Steve, it’s probably none of my business, but does your 5:33 make any sense at all? To someone or something? You don’t have to reveal what the “secret” is, all I’m asking, I guess, is there something there?
I hate to send McFann on a wild goose chase.
June 27th, 20096:01 am
(Dang…I forgot about the censor)
Well, someone did call me something that has to do with a butt conjoined with a head the other day. But, the entire post was so outlandish that all I could do was laugh…
June 27th, 20096:03 am
I’m surprised you haven’t heard about Anders’ profession…
June 27th, 20096:04 am
Key-lime…never tried it; would be a willing taster, just to assist you, of course.
We need LeTwan (still miss ya, jjs).
I need a drink.
June 27th, 20096:10 am
Well, someone did call me something that has to do with a butt conjoined with a head the other day. But, the entire post was so outlandish that all I could do was laugh…
RG, I’ve been away all week. I don’t know the other side of the argument, but I’m betting you were right.
If one could pick one’s dream…
UGA’s Maria Bello in-law, a Braves World Series ring, seats with cabravesfan on the fifty-yard line at the new 49er stadium in my hometown, or a glass of whiskey, with two ice-cubes, at this moment, without having to leave this chair?
June 27th, 20096:18 am
Ok…I don’t consider it sad that I went back and looked these up. I mean, it is 6:15am.
Tom, RG hinted at it, but my 5:33 had to with Anders. I’m obsessed; it’s not healthy. He, in his more nubletardish past, once referred to being away from the blog (after a poor Mets streak, or a bad Braves run, I forget which) because of needing to “service important clients.”
Again, per my 5:33, there is something there, along with professionals, but I ain’t got the wit, and won’t wade through to find RG’s mid-game snark. You got somethin’ now, while I fill this glass?
And, for your benefit: in the future you shouldn’t try to find meaning in my posts; you could tweak something.
June 27th, 20096:19 am
Ok…I don’t consider it sad that I went back and looked these up. I mean, it is 6:15am.
June 27th, 20096:20 am
June 27th, 20096:22 am
If you’re wondering why I posted these separately, it’s because when I tried to post them together, I got the “Your Comment Awaiting Moderation” statement. And I’m not sure the moderators are here yet.
June 27th, 20096:23 am

Roman Gal, I’m sorry…. every time I hesitate, and stop to read one of BAS’ posts, I disolve and reappear into the ZXmosphere. It takes forever to recover
June 27th, 20096:28 am

June 27th, 20096:32 am
I’ve missed you so much. It feels like centuries since we last talked!
June 27th, 20096:33 am
THIS TEAM IS NOT ANY GOOD PERIOD MY BANK ACCT PROVES THAT.
That’s all the proof I need…
June 27th, 20096:34 am
RG, are you now asking me to link into ….. whatever….?
BTW, I’m now understanding BAS, it took a few paragraphs, but I’ve got him.
June 27th, 20096:35 am
Those links were for you. I didn’t specify, but they were…
June 27th, 20096:36 am
here is facts for all of you today its wakefield, tomorrow penny, next week the phillies, the braves now have to past the mets ,marlins, and phillies its not gonna happen see you all dreamers in the FUNNY PAPERS
June 27th, 20096:37 am
roman gal did you go to any games this week
June 27th, 20096:38 am
You know what. Im and idiot.
I should say:
I’ll save you some time and tell you that I won’t be here during the game.
June 27th, 20096:39 am
Yep. I did.
June 27th, 20096:40 am
OK, nolie, I understand, but did you have to shout it all (TOM)
shouting is all caps. bolding is just above normal vocal levels, besides at that time of night I couldn’t remember what to include to italicize- the entire thing was a quote-.so I bolded. Now of course i remember.
Roman Gal, I checked those links out, I didn’t know what your point was. I’ll go back, but give me a reason. BTW, stick around. I have saved something for out “friend” willieg.
That’s the conversation I had with the person who called me a smartarse. Post 3 is pretty funny.
June 27th, 20096:41 am
It feels like centuries since we last talked! (RG)
you just wish it were
June 27th, 20096:42 am

You’re looking at the comment at the top of the page…by Lamar1Banks2
June 27th, 20096:43 am
I saw that RG, glad you went, and sorry you had to endure Red Sox Nation. I only said that ’cause you posted earlier about having an Anders, on his knees, servicing important clients post, ready tomorrow (told ya, I got nothin’…but there’s something there…Chop Chop or bubd could work with that.
Tom, the sad part, for me, is that I think I’m being perfectly clear. Perhaps if I drank less, my posts would make more sense. Or, maybe a drink or two would help your comprehension. Or, more likely, you understand best when hitting on any and all female members of the blogosphere.
willieg, I’d like to propose trading two of your posts for one of wilymo’s. Wily, tell me Soriano is smilin’ at the way he’s throwing right now. That cutter is awesome; I’ve long doubted his slider, thought it was too slurvish, but that cut is Mariano-like.
June 27th, 20096:45 am
Yeah…I got it. Umm, my excuse is that it’s really late.
June 27th, 20096:47 am
Oh…I can’t even tell you how much I’ve missed you. Words cannot express the depth of the, uh…sorrow I’ve felt while you were away.
showing off with the italics after I said I forgot , huh?
June 27th, 20096:48 am
Aaah, thanks for the clarification, RG.
And, I checked the links, bet where’s the conjoined line? Sounds like a good line, even if it came from a “Robert.”
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
