Bobby Cox is a morally corrupt, drunken wife-beater who only knows how to communicate through swear words and grunts
Hey retard, why did you put my name in quotations?
I don’t make up dumbass names to hide behind. Dumb mother******.
I’m not going to put up with your trash talking. I don’t see Fred McGriff out there or David Justice anymore. If you want to say Bobby Cox doesn’t deserve credit for winning with potential hall of fame players, fine.
We all have high standards but no manager could turn this team into a serious contender.
BBFCFM — pardon me if I’m late to the (blog) party, just a fan. But are you the Big Black Furry Creature From Mars? FWIW, I’m still smiling from my Knoxville experience.
God what I would do for a Guillen/Pinella explosion right now. Someone has to do it. There was a time in the early 90’s that JS made Cox replace some coaches when he didn’t want to. JS needs to speak up and soon. Cox’s job is to put a prepared team on the field. This is neither a team or prepared. Time for some bold moves. Chipper has got to go to the American League where he can DH. GA,JF and KJ should just be cut if for no other reason than to prove a point. Kotch is not worth a crap. Move him. If they don’t shake this team up one way or another this season is lost. For all the @#$ing people who will say hey we are only 4 games back …. back of what? Baseball is not about making the playoffs only to be swept in the first round. It is about winning the World Series and even IF this team squeaked in they would go no where. They have no chance at this point. It is a bad team, playing badly. What do we expect. Sell Wren and build for next year and hell who knows they may play better without some of these players anyway. Worse? I doubt it.
Mitchell we will never know if another manager could turn this team around unless we get one. Don’t believe it could get any worse. Good night, give it a rest.
I disagree. Kotchman is great defensively, and can hit. Only problem is that his style of hitting isn’t what we need. If we had an offensively productive outfield, nobody would complain agout him. Dude can pick it at first.
just put down some plastic first…it helps. Although C-4 can be messy- maybe a different method? Poison perhaps? No mess, no fuss, does the job just as well…
McFann Ô , BMac battling the flu. The dizziness was probably from dehydration. Get an IV or two sit and rest. That’s how he was able to come in and get you that 2B. And yes that 2B was probably just for you. I thinkg he might be trying to make up… LOL!!!
On to the more important things. Tell me Chip’s bat speed hasn’t slowed. 4 times in the last to nights I saw him come to bat with runners in scoring position. He is 0-3 with 1 BB and 3 Ks. He needs to quit throwing his teammates under the bus, STFU and play ball. He has no right to say crap about anyone. His .300 avg is about as weak as it can be. You can’t be a leader if you don’t set the example. You have no right to Bit-h and moan when you are producing yourself.
I am not raedy to say Francouer sucks again. He just can’t hit Beckett. Not if knows a fastball is coming right down the middle.
What would the Braves think if JJ was to come out one night and give up 10 runs in the first inning? What would the fans think. I feel so bad for hime. He pitches his ass off and gets no freakin support. None. Twice runners on base. 1B and b no outs, can’t score one freaking run. 1B and 2B one out, again not a freakin run. Again guys hit the ball, all but Chipper. Lets blame the BP, lets blame Francouer, KJ, anyone else. How about we blame the last 2 games on Chipper. If he is not going offer with runners in scoring position, he is making as stupid of errors and Escobar to extend innings needlessly. For this crappy line up tonight, ATL had a good chance to win. Different ball game if ol Chip gets a hit with runners on.
Hernandez can not play SS at the ML level. That play on the pedroia 2B was crap. Should have been an infield hit. Then the hit up the middle That he was so far out of position that he was playing 3B with Chipper.
Last, I am not going to whine about the umpiring, but who had the crystal clear TV tonight. On both Balk calls that killed us… Were they balks. I saw absolutely nothing. I could be wrong though so I want Bit-h about the 2 Ks JJ had robbed from him.
I heard that Jesus has agreed in principle to manage the team as soon as Cox retires. I think he’ll be getting a 3 yr/ $3m contract. Let the countdown begin!!!!
Kotch hits .260 with 2 homers. That is good hitting? WTF is bad hitting? Are you kidding me? He should not be a starter ANYWHERE. A great fielding SS maybe with those stats, a 1B? no way, just how hard do you think 1st is to play. Notice where all the big slow boys end up … 1B, guess why, because they can get by with a mediocre fielding 1B. Geez are you looking at the same game?
What’s the rip on Kotchman? He went 3-3 tonight, what did Chip do? Plus he plays the best defense on the infield. BS, he plays the best defense on the team.
nolie, you obviously haven’t come across Mr. Hydranamo’s comments about our hall of fame manager.
I’m ready for a change as much as everybody and anybody but I’m not going to stand for the kind of trash he’s been offering about Bobby Cox. I don’t care what I sound like, it’s uncalled for.
Kotchman has been the only bright spot defensively on the team. I’d take him batting six or seventh in a lineup with real hitters. By no means was I saying he’s an answer. I just feel that we have WAY bigger problems than him.
nolie, one of the links from that article was a great read too. Thanks for that link. (STEVE OH)
glad you liked it. I had already read the other one too. Like I said, all that esoteric stuff like inverted Ws and scao loads weren’t around in my day. Who knew? Still seems to be some real disagreement on it all. I guess you pays your monet & you takes your chances. Glad i caught you B4 you left.
JJ looked very frustrated out there tonight and chipper looked like he was ready to just go on home that last at bat.the only players that haven’t given up are bmac, diaz, kotchman and escabar the rest are half assing it at best and I’m thinking we should dump everybody that’s worth a prospect and start from scratch.
Oh yeah, even if BMac was fine, I would have played Ross. BMac needed a day off. All the heat and humidity combined with high pressure of this homestand. He has to call a perfect game. It’s not like the offense is going to do a Da– thing. Or the defense will make 5 errors at SS and 3B. Dude needed a break.
all you guys need to know what and where Frank Wren came from.. he came from the baltimore orioles who FIRED HIM for destroying the orioles team and the farm system.. he was canneedd… and for a year now Look what this joke has done.. this team is a mess.. we are the joke and laughin stock of the league.. wow and john schuerholtz hires this trash, and lives with it and accepts it. Its time for COX WREN to get the pink slip now And maybe J.S to go as well.. we need a serious fresh new style and look. that means you get rid of the past thats cox and needs to be wren too.. I am so glad I sold my tickets and didnt waste my money and time to come down to atlanta. what a serious waste of money it is to watch this little league team..
“Okay, then here’s another question. What do you hope to accomplish by spreading your gospel?”
There’s a lot more people who agree with me than did two or three years ago. And ultimately the fans vote with their wallets. I aint gonna get anything changed overnight, but I do believe I am helping the donkey turn, if ever so slowly
They biggest and most frustrating thing about this team is that EVERYBODY on this team is capable of being a career .285 hitter…………..all of them can hit for average…………….at least .285. Problem is the hit by turns…………….is like if they have shifts. This week chipper is off and its JF turn. Tonight CK had 3 hits I think, last night he came up in key situations as well as wednesday, I think he didnt come true, almost sure about that. Then there is Mc. They just keep putting base runners………..tons……….but as soon as they have the pitcher against the ropes, they run out of gas.
Other teams dont forgive our pitchers……….our pitchers can go almost perfectly the whole night, the moment they blink, boom, 3 runs score.
I like the way you think. As long as they can’t trace it back to us. we should be golden. Besides, everyone on the blog would share the same motive, right?
Vinings Jim —–
Personally, I don’t care what you call me, but I’d hate to confuse you with our “going away party” guestlist.
“I’m going to keep my head up and keep pitching, and hopefully it’s going to change soon,” said Jurrjens (5-6), who has lost four consecutive decisions in five starts, with the Braves going scoreless while he was in three of them.
He’s 1-4 with a 3.21 ERA in his past seven home starts, and the Braves have scored one or no runs while he’s been in five of those games.
Ask yourself how many of these players would another team even want? Other than Esco, McClouth, Chipper, and Mac ….. NONE. Nobody would even want them on their team.
nolie–you just mad cause you are constipated (Mike)
nah my bowels are fine youngin’, but most on the board tonight are full of sh*t. Typical after-a-loss morons ranting like they actually knew anything about baseball. Wannabe GMs who think fantasy baseball and real-life baseball are the same thing. Hadn’t noticed your posts, but since you had such an intelligent response I’ll look for more of the same.
Chipper is 10-for-56 (.179) with one RBI in his past 16 games, and five of those hits were in two games. But I do agree, he’s about the least of their problems. Just pointing it out, to show that when even the reigning batting champion is skidding, well, the Braves are not going to score.
What about GA………has anyone notice he always, and I mean always swings at the first pitch? And not only that, he always hits a foul ball on that 1st pitch. And not only that, it is always a fly ball. Doesnt matter what type of pitch it is, he goes after if as if he was on an 0-2 count.
I need to go check on this on some site, but I have been paying attention to this closely last few weeks and there is no doubt in my mind that it is a problem.
hhmmm, I don’t think an AL team will give up anything for Chipper at this point. His bat has slowed way down. As far as everyday players though, you do have a point.
No owl I dont think McCann should go to first, duh he is a catcher, but if you try to convince me there isn’t a better option than Kotchman that we could get I will puke. Chipper at least should move over before he makes 75 errors at 3rd.
Bobby has been “taking one for the team” since 2006. He has volunteered to hold his salary at $3,000,000. He should make about $4,000,000 a year escalating to $6,000,000 on his next contract. I hope he signs a multi year deal, say 4 years at a back loaded deal for about $20,000,000.
Yeah, these GM’s are running a baseball team on their PS2. You wouldn’t want to take advice from them? By the way, you just sounded crabby so I thought maybe you were jealous of Sarah.
if wren wants to keep his job he needs to make a trade veryy soonnnn or now for a bat with outfield presence.. Mark Derosa comes to mind.. but again i have just lost any hope in this team under the management of bobby cox.. losing in the fashion they are at home is a slap in the face to the fans … no wonder why attendance is down and yesterday the YES network announcers were saying that the braves HR dept was thanking the yankees for selling out because that will be the last time that stadium will be sold out this year… and will have more redsoxs fans this weekend in atlanta than braves fans and thats a shame and pathetic..
.all of them can hit for average…………….at least .285. (DO)
yeah it’s like we also have a hitting rotation to go along with the pitching rotation. Must be the new thing, Cubs and a few other clubs seem to be trying the same approach. Might need a bit more work.
I know i seem angry and your right I am, this is a joke that is being played out on that field and someone, more than one person, should be held accountable. It isn’t 1 year its been 3. It isn’t 2nd place but 4th, in our division. Then we keep seeing all the homers talk about winning the division or wild card. Look at the standings folks ….. we are not going anywhere. There are 10 teams in the NL better than we are. It isn’t my opinion – look at the standings. We are where we should be.
Doc Holiday, That last AB by Loaf was just stupid for a professional hitter. Knew a Fastball was coming after working the count full. Fouls off one, watches the second. The bad thing, the fastball was only topping out at 87. Sad Chipper did the same freakin thing. That must be a $h!t load of movement on 86-87 heat.
There are definitely better options than Kotchman, but there are several guys who need to go first. He’s a pro, and can do a decent job until Freeman is ready. RF, LF, 2b, bench, and maybe 3b are the bigger priorities.
Just got back from the game. This was the first one I’ve been to this year that, based on caps and jerseys, crowd cheering, et. al., I estimate Braves fans were outnumbered.
hhmmm, if that is your real name. I felt that way too until I remembered what they did with Smoltz and Glavine.
I’d been saying that forever and it took me a while to realize it’s actually started happening but I’m ready for more. I feel the same way about Bobby as pretty much everyone else. I’m not going to trash him but it’s clearly time to hang it up.
The more ruthless the better. Frank Wren sucks. He probably made the right call on Glavine but the idea that he knows how to build a winning team has been officially debunked.
Jeff and Kelly need to go. I don’t care what we get for them, they’re done.
Can you say sweep. ATL just watched what true professional teams look and play like. Instead of 2 professional hitters, the SOX and Yanks have 9 pre playing, and then a possible 5 or so per on the bench.
One more thing on Chipper, he needs to own up to his responsibility for this team sucking instead of blaming everyone else but…
I agree there are more pressing needs but look at your list….it includes 4 starters….and I agree so what does that say about this team.If 4 of 8 starters need to be replaced who are we kidding but ourselves. The team is not good. Coach you win, blow the f%^&ing thing up.
Beckett was just too good for Chipper tonight……….he went after him and made him look bad.
Also as some have pointed out, the right side of our IF has given away half of the last 10 games we have lost. Ridiculous.
This team has look so bad that even JF and KJ have been able to get lost in the smoke. In other words………they have all zuked about the same…………. Chipper has zuked recently and Mc has not been as clutch lately either.
It isn’t 1 year its been 3. It isn’t 2nd place but 4th, in our division. (hhmmm)
could end up like the Pirates or Orioles. 12-14 good years followed by unending infamy. Nothing guarantees the Braves will always be winners, in fact the odds are against it.
Jim, sorry, I’m trying to do what I’ve got to do and still keep up with the posts. I thought I was, but apparently, I’m not. (Didn’t understand “canneedd”, either. I know there’s a funny there, someplace.)
LAdy, if you’re worried about me putting the wrong person on the blow-up list, uh …the poison list, …. uh the party list, then by all means, please proofread it first. We all have confidence in your ability to do that.
To be fair to Frank Wren, there are not many quality bats available. There are about ten teams in on Mark DeRosa. Frank Wren doesn’t need to overpay for 2 month rental. DeRosa is not a difference maker. Frank Wren is a smart guy. He knows this is not a playoff team. He needs to stay calm and wait for GM’s to call him. He will get calls on Vazquez, Soriano, Gonzalez. He might even field calls for Chipper Jones and Derek Lowe. We will find out within the next 6 weeks just what direction Frank Wren will decide to go. He might get blown away by trade offers and decide to rebuild. If teams offer Teixeira like deals for those players mentioned then he needs to sell. We are not a playoff team. Some players look disinterested. The pitchers are getting upset as they should be. This is not a buyers market.
Escobar, McCann, McLouth, Heyward, Freeman, Schafer, Hanson, Hudson, Medlen, Jurrjens. We are not that far away. We have pieces teams need. Time to take advantage of it.
please no I dont think mccann should play first.. Ned Yost , eddie perez . someone other than a tank job named frank wren and someone else .. this team needs new managment. man I went to a IL game tonight and wow the Rochester Redwings show more passion and fire than the whole Atlanta Braves team combined… there manager gets involved high 5′ing talkin to his players and making the correct calls with what he has to work with.. They steal and bunt and tonight pulled off a squeeze play and worked to profection…. The Twins know how to run a well oiled team and farm system..
I am telling you…. If this piss arse offense don’t start putting up crooked numbers consistently… The starting pitching is going to shut down completely. Then we will start seeing 10-1, 12-0 games. Just from DOB on JJ… I think JJ is getting fed up.
The only thing I can say about Wren is he didn’t shy away from doing what he had to do with Smoltz and Glavine. Would this team truly be better with them on staff this year. As they say everyone wants the steak but nobody wants to kill the cow. He killed the cow and took the heat for it.
dude, the last three years combined he is first in BA, second in OBP and 3rd in Slugging in all of baseball, and you are pissed at him? Man you are a tough audience. You must have really hated the guy when he was 8th or tenth in most of those totals.
DOB, Jeff Bennett could learn a freaking lot from Jair Jurrjens.
JJ pitched much better tonight I thought than in recent games but he was pretty much all alone out there.
I know Frenchy made his little comment about this homestand being like seven away games and I’m sure they’re all pissed about the Yankees and Red Sox fans but I just wish somebody other than Jeff had said it.
To pitch like that, to get no run support and to have to hear thousands of people cheer when you give up a hit or a walk would have to be almost unbearable. He’s a unique human being.
I really do want somebody to put it out there and stick it to the fans. It’s frustrating in so many ways.
For JJ to pitch the way he does and have to endure the kind of **** he has to deal with is insanely admirable. That’s the best word for it.
Jeff Bennett will never pitch like him but he needs to start acting like him immediately.

Kotchman has been the only bright spot defensively on the team. I’d take him batting six or seventh in a lineup with real hitters. By no means was I saying he’s an answer. I just feel that we have WAY bigger problems than him.

Its time for COX WREN to get the pink slip now And maybe J.S to go as well.. we need a serious fresh new style and look. that means you get rid of the past thats cox and needs to be wren too..

Chipper is 10-for-56 (.179) with one RBI in his past 16 games, and five of those hits were in two games. But I do agree, he’s about the least of their problems. Just pointing it out, to show that when even the reigning batting champion is skidding, well, the Braves are not going to score.
