DOB, did you hear Jay Bennett died.
You know, if it wasn’t for MJ and FF he would be all over CNN. That guy can’t buy a break. Kidding.
Jay Bennett, formerly of Wilco anyone? Wilco is now my least favorite band. They were much better pre-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot even if JB was an unwelcome member.
Nobody knows what I’m talking about.
NO MORE BOBBY
SMOLTZ FOR MANAGER 2010!!!!!!!
June 26th, 200910:02 pm
great job Bravos!
GAWD DAMMITT!!! THIS TEAM SUCKS!!!
I think you can remove the “maybe” from that post…
SMOLTZ FOR MANAGER 2010!!!!
YES WE CAN!!! (hey it worked for the other guy)
Perhaps the Braves players and Bobby should yell at each other, rather than looking to always blame the umpires. How do you NOT swing at a 3-2 pitch that’s close? Is Garrett the leadoff hitter trying to start a rally, or the cleanup hitter with 2 guys on, less than 2-out and his team trailing 4-0?
2 on nobdoy out, and we’re gonna get NOTHING.
Priceless. Let the sale begin. PLEASE.
June 26th, 200910:03 pm
Well Kotch that was not a strike but you’re a Brave so you’re out.
Chipper looks awful especially in the clutch GA swings at ball four and watches strike three right down the middle and casey well who knows or even cares at this point have we touched third base tonight?
I want to see somebody throw a helmet. Or a punch, at an ump preferably.
I nominate zookey, as our new blog sergeant-at-arms.
Toma..you have to get some patron..it make the ladies moan
I heard Corky was traded for his own, game-used, autographed pink bat…
I’ve noticed that Chipper has had trouble catching up to a lot of fastballs. Not just tonight, but all season…
Wonder if that move is gonna come back and bite Wren in the butt.
THIS TEAM IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!
June 26th, 200910:04 pm
A real manager would yank players and make them earn their starting job. Ours cant wait to get home to some warm milk and a nap.
Coach ( 2010 or Bust)
Three more outs and this will be the ninth game where our Braves have failed to score.
I’m just trying to figure out why McCann doesnt lead in voting for the All STar Game. I’m not sure about defensively, but offensively he’s way better than any other catcher.
Casey goes 3-3 with nobody on, but with runners on base, he strikes out looking. WTF is up with the stupid ass team. GOD DANGIT THIS TEAM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am done. Seeya.
June 26th, 200910:05 pm
Fck Yelling at Each Other…!
I wanna See a Fight Between Our Starters against Our AWFense in the Dugout, just like Major League 2
Our Position Players Suck at most aspects of the game…!
Rob from SC
I would like to see Eddie Perez as manager and Brian Jordan to join the staff. He will get in people’s faces. Fire Cox, trade Chipper, DFA Anderson and lets rebuild behind (McLouth, McCann, Escobar, Heyward, Freeman, Hanson, Jurrjens). Keep Prado too.
And dont you losers start posting the Phils and Mets scores on here. It does not matter.
WE DONT WANT IT AND WE SUCK!!!!!!!!!!
McLouth left hamstring strain, day to day
June 26th, 200910:06 pm
do we call Schafer up if McLouth hits the DL. I can’t take 15 days of Blanco
I have never seen an offense this pitiful are pitchers know they cant make a mistake if they want to win and Derek Lowe just knows he cant do this so he has decided throw in the towel and there goes mclouth wow are best hitter is going going gone to the dl hmmm what else what else
Coxlover- Take a look at who’s leading the ASG vote for NL catchers. Now, take a look at his numbers. Exhibit A as to why the fans should not be voting for the starters.
Mitchell, didnt jay bennett die like 2 weeks or more ago?
Oh yay! Gonzo in a non save! McClouth hamstring! Hey, it IS friday fireworks night after all.
June 26th, 200910:07 pm
Casey and GA are Both Non-Clutch Singles Hitters with no speed…Oh yea Throw Francine in that group as well
Fcking Loaf with no hustle again!!!
Hope McLouth just has a leg cramp…
I’m not taking it the wrong way… It is kinda funny…
I think JJ’s going to be having Curaçao-ian dreams tonight.
You mean McCann & Francoeur thought it best for Mac to drive while dizzy?
June 26th, 200910:08 pm
When was the last time Bobby had a closed door clubhouse meeting with team? 2 or 3 years ago? I believe its time.
if we waited to pitch Gonzo & Sori when we had a lead, they’d never pitch at all
“He swings at a ball above his head and then takes on right down the middle.” Rob from SC
“Anderson swung at ball four and then watched a ball go straight down the middle and decided to take it.” scottbravesfan
“Swing at the ball, take the strike. Gotta love it.” Jake W.
“Swing at ball four and then watch a strike down the middle – beautiful!! Chop it up All-Stars
I’m just listening on line and “watching” on gameday. But could some of you clarify for me? What happened on Garret’s last two pitches he saw?
Vazquez absolutely deserves to be on the All-Star team, i dont care if his record is 5-6. 117 strikeouts in 99 innings, 3.18 ERA, etc.
Tomahawkin Casey and GA are Both Non-Clutch Singles Hitters
Did you see that stat they posted on Kotchy? Before that AB, he was hitting .440 with 2 outs/RISP.
Steve from OH
Juuust a bit inside. Tried the corner and missed, it’s 2-2.
June 26th, 200910:09 pm
Yes, Chipper’s new contract extension was a bad idea. It puts the team and Chipper in a bind if he suddenly can’t perform anymore, now and in the future. He’s already walking wounded and playing hurt most of the time, which is commendable. But were Chipper to blow a knee or something else……Wren will be crucified. Fair or not.
We are REALLY missing Omar Infante. Escobar is hurt so we have to play Diory. Chipper could use a day off but if Prado plays third than Kelly has to play second. So pick your poison.
Bobby is the problem. THe players should lock him out of the clubhouse
Kotchman goes 3 for 3 but then when it really matters, strikes out looking on a 3-2 pitch
Donkey baseball at its finest
This team just plays the game stupidly
Of course, that’s a reflection of their feeble minded manager
Hamstring strain? Hopefully it heals quickly, but isn’t that one of those types of injuries that can linger?
THWG, i agree that fans shouldnt vote for the All-Stars, especially since the All-Star game determines home field in the WS now. If the game was just for fun then i dont mind fans voting. But why wouldn’t you vote for the players that give your league the best chance to win the game ?
June 26th, 200910:10 pm
its time to give your pops a call.
“When was the last time Bobby had a closed door clubhouse meeting with team? 2 or 3 years ago? I believe its time.”
The last thing the players need is to hear Cox hee-hawing at them.
I am not your friend.
Everyone is tired of reading your paste ant post garbage…
June 26th, 200910:11 pm
yes it is. Hamstring injuries can heal quickly or linger for months…hopefully this one won’t be too bad- can’t afford to lose McLouth for a long time
Yunel's Frosted Tips
I’m gonna blow my head off
Jeez, Papelbon coming in? It’s going to take 3 hours just to finish the ninth…
June 26th, 200910:12 pm
The Braves have always lacked firepower, only in the 90s we had 3 hall of famers throwing every week so it was not as noticeable.
fellas they’re done. It’s over for 09. It’s time to clean house. No one is immune. All coaches need to go, KJ, Frenchy… Trade Vazquez for some good young talent. Trade Yunel’s sorry self. Forget it guys. This team is hopeless!
The AL East teams have to laugh when they see the NL Least on their schedule every year.
June 26th, 200910:13 pm
paste ant post……..
HEHEHEHHEE HARDY HAR HAR!
Chipper has hit .179 with one RBI in his past 16 games — DOB
I could be wrong, however, I think Hoss should cancel leading that pep-rally, he had scheduled before tomorrow’s game.
We gotta get Gonzo a glove. Love the guys fire, wish he could play an everyday position.
Nate got hurt in vain. Would have never scored because Chipper did his best Frenchy impression that last at bat and Anderson had a very unprofessional at bat.
I wonder what new ways we will invent tomorrow to not score.
June 26th, 200910:14 pm
cabravesfan – did you notice that my 9:56 was totally ignored, as usual?
June 26th, 200910:15 pm
Frenchy sux..period..enough of excuses of how he hits the ball hard but right at the other players..enough of tipping our caps..
Yunel’s Frosted Tips , don’t do that. It would be a waste of a good bullet
Coxlover, I personally feel that the average baseball fan isn’t smart enough to vote for the right guy. The players or managers or even writers should be the ones to vote for the starters. I’m just glad the fans don’t vote for pitchers.
“On a side note, how did Bobby not get run there? Can’t argue a balk call, and if I read his lips correctly, I did not see some nice words coming out”
The umpire was probably laughing at Cox inside. I mean, how can they take his snorting hee-hawing tirades seriously. They must be thinking “ok dumb dumb, go back to your stall and let the adults go on about their business
I’d love to see an umpire pull out a sugar cube and offer it to Donk during one of his hair-raising red-face to blue-face, back kicking, hooves spinning tirades
We might only be three and half games out…but everyone fails to mention that there are three teams ahead of us
June 26th, 200910:16 pm
Looks like B-Mac’s ok. They showed a shot of him walking around in the dugout and putting on batting gloves.
RHR, I just heard about it this week so I assumed he died not long after it was reported.
Not like it would be on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. I was kidding about that.
It didn’t surprise me. If you’ve seen that Wilco movie you had to feel sorry for the guy. Literally nothing Wilco has done since Summer Teeth has rivalled or surpassed their ’90s work.
Listening to and attempting to enjoy Wilco music has been an increasingly laborious and exhausting endeavor in recent years.
They’re on my **** list as my sister-in-law might say.
The Braves have always lacked firepower? How do you figure that? Chipper, Javy, Sheff, Drew, Andruw, Texeira, Justice, Gant…
They used to have both firepower AND pitching. Now they only have pitching and a AAA team of position players.
And I see Robert is back to calling the kettle black…
Valuable insight as always, donk.
Great start by Jeff.
I’d really enjoy punching this douche bag on the mound in the face.
I can’t stand him.
we are, of course, assuming he can read… we may be giving him way too much credit
(just had to blow a mound of fur off my computer…)
THWG, too many fans dont take it seriously when they vote, they dont do their research. They just vote for whoever their favorite player is, not necessarily who the best player is.
June 26th, 200910:17 pm
This will be our 7th shutout I think or will it be our 8th?
It’s funny how…and when i say funny I mean NOT funny….Chipper hit well when his contract depended on it….and now since he’s been extended he stinks.
I dont think players and managers should vote either, they are also biased.
June 26th, 200910:18 pm
Kotchman Got Hot before he got Injured…Ever since he’s come back (excluding tonight) he hasn’t hit…
And My point about me last post is that Kotchman Loaf and Francine are singles hitters who aren’t clutch…They Don’t hit for power…(I don’t mean homers I mean extra-basehits)
Rossy goes yard
Yeahhhhhh! Shutout’s gone. A victory in itself.
Dang it David Ross, now that stat doesn’t even matter.
David Ross needs more playing time. MaCann really needs to learn some first base
How many times have I seen this one? I believe this is the second game that he is solely responsible for the Braves not getting shut out.
There We Go D-Ross On the Meaningless Homer…
Nice going with the pitch Ross.
Now our back-up catcher has more homers, once again, than Jeff Francoeur.
June 26th, 200910:19 pm
What would you have done differently tonight? Can’t you figure out that our players just aren’t that great?
Why us McCann down 3 unless we have runners on. He might get hurt again.
Way to go KJ! Since a homerun would have tied it-way to be aggressive. Wait….
Yea baby! no shut out tonight!
Chop It Up All-Stars
Damn, does Kelly have an appointment or a movie to catch or something – geez!!
Earlier with Braves on base, Chip commented that needed Brave to run into one (hit homer). He is such an idiot
Braves only hit meaningless homers late in games – Ross exhibit A
you are aware there is more to baseball then home runs, right?
Kelly, you piece of crap. Go back to AAA. Oh, wait, you’re playing for a AAA team.
At least when the last out was recorded I won’t have to hear Red Sox fans anymore.
Thank you Jeff. Solo shots are definitely the way to go.
David Ross is kind of a badass. He’s not that good but he is a badass.
What a wonderful performance by KJ.
What is wrong with your brain KJ?! Do you remember what it was like to hit the ball?
My fingers are to big.Whats your excuse ???
“He He Har Har ” What a dumb ass…
Awesome! Another meaningless hr from a catcher in the 9th! At least we scored, i guess
June 26th, 200910:20 pm
Wow nice going KJ….YOU SUCK.
Has anyone besides Vazquez,Escobar, and Prado not sucked overall the last MONTH. I think NOT.
Kelly Johnson special, Pop-up to left. Mac has had to bad games but guy is a great player. Hope he is ok.
Managers/players may be biased, but I believe they care at least a little about winning the ASG. The fans really couldn’t care less.
Tim and Jim
Hi guys, this is Tim,my husband Jim and I would like to invite all you gay guys to come and join us for a big ole gay couples party next Fri night, July 3 at 7:00 PM at Atlants best and most popular gay club. Hope to see you all there.
I’d love to see a Brave player start a fight, just for no reason.
Kelly and Frenchy. Killing us again.
June 26th, 200910:21 pm
Does it really matter if Mac isn’t 100%? Kid can flat out hit
Damn We Needed B-Macc To do that last night! he needed the rest it seems
ESPN Baseball Tonight just made fun of the Braves big time and they should. The stuff they showed was a joke!!!!!! PULL PLAYER YOU OLD IDIOT BOBBY COX!!!! GET IN SOMEONES FACE!!! ANYTHING!!!!!
