The Red Sox just play a different brand of baseball…aggressive and smart. The Braves have had a few games like that, but it’s certainly not the norm – at least not for the last few seasons.

Let’s play pretend – Even if the Braves were to win this game on a miracle comeback (it’s just pretend) -what would be the result. A bunch of idiot fans & or some AJC writers would speculate that this was the type win that could propel them to a winning streak and being a contender again. BUT, in reality even a win here would simply be a “TEASE” because …

THIS TEAM HAS A WILL TO LOSE AND LOSE THEY WILL

Thats 100% true……………we need 1 very big bat and 1 very good reliever…………and maybe even 2 bats and 1 very good reliever………. we can get to the playoff with only 1 great bat ………maybe, but would be swept in the 1st round.

I think if Infante was around we could at least would have won at least 2 more games than what we have since he left, meaning we would be 2.0 GB. But if we were in any other competitive division………..we would be like 10 GB.

Pitching keeps making its job…………problem continues to be offense………No surprise tonight since Mc and Yunel are on the bench.

Interesting to see that even with 2 of our best hitter Cox didnt play KJ but prado……….that might be a message to KJ

I fully understand a 68-year-old stubborn ol’ mule ain’t gomma change his kick or ways.

But how does the benign media treat Cox with teflon, sliding off this sloppy pathetic play? In fact, media kiss his ass, accept his folksy Hee-Haw excuses.
Better yet, how does Braves’ front office accept this? Time kicks all our asses. It kicked Glavine’s ass, it long ago wiped out Cox, and eventually gets us all. Cox’s time has long past. He’s a feeble ol’ fool.
Why is this pathetic play tolerated?

At what point will Wren realize that this team was a great attempt to scrape together a competitive team and that he should become a serious seller as the deadline approaches? For 3 years now, the Braves have (unsuccessfully) tried to piecemeal a team together. Wren was actually fairly successful with the rotation, more so than JS was the past few years, but this is just not a winning formula. It is time to sell anything and everything except the young nucleus (JJ, Hanson, Mac, McLouth, Escobar) and start over. Keep Chipper for sentimental purposes, but beyond that, fire sale. I know they are still only a handful of games out, but that might as well be 12 or 13 with this anemic offense. I’d take 2 years of Nationals/Pirates like performance over regular mediocrity. The Braves are not buyers, because they don’t have the payroll to be. Their pay roll necessitates a strong core, a few young talents, and efficient role players. Acting like the Yankees and Red Sox on the cheap puts a bad product on the field, both for competition and for fans to watch. This team is not one RH bat away from contention…this team is a major market mentality stuck inside a mid market payroll. That is not a recipe for success. Please quit trying to reload…time to rebuild.
