What do you think would be good????
I now pronounce you Mrs. Chip Jeter
Who cares if the runner would have made third…you still gotta field the ball clean.
June 25th, 200910:23 pm
I’m really tired of chip sucking Derek’s Jeter.
we should go after mark teahen from KC he can play everywhere and has a good bat
avg obp slug ops
.281 .342 .438 .780
We need a rover to play in shallow RF.
Long time Braves fan
i think chip cary just wet on himself about Jeter’s hit
Coldwork. If you can make it happen, the Braves will thank you my friend.
Can anybody on this team play defense?
Jeter has been on base six times and A-Rod has been on five times, each reaching once on an error.
Where can I find a broadcast that isn’t announced by Yankees fans?
WHY IS EVERYONE MAKING DUN OF CHIPPER
So, how can ATL avoid be swept by the SOX? BP is depleted with exception of Gonzo and Soriano. As crazy as it sounds, Francouer is about the only offense. Yeah Prado, Do you really think he will see the field? Oh and escobar, he will give back every he produces, back on defense.
Why does Chip have to gush….it’s not like he doesn’t see Jeter every Sunday.
Ric Flair would break Jeter’s leg with the GD figure 4!!!!
What a waste of an offensive explosion. Jeter continually gets the cheapest hits imaginable.
June 25th, 200910:24 pm
when does Hanson pitch again?
Hey Joe Simpson, you gotta wonder about the heads of other players outside of Esco. These are just two ugly games. Ugly.
Expect The Attendance to get nasty a 6 weeks frow when everyone goes back to school
These Games have only been exciting because Braves fans want to shut those Bandwagon fans up. Even though the braves fans are outnumbered…
June 25th, 200910:25 pm
No. Are you actually watching the game? Prado is playing 1st, and Diory Hernandez is at 2nd. Kotchamn was taken out.
I’ve got no issues with the Indians guys, but several teams seem to have interest in DeRo and I bet they offer more then a struggling RF, a struggling meddle reliever, a AAA guy that hasn’t shown much at the major league level and a utility guy with a balky leg. I’d love to have DeRo on this team, I am a HUGE fan of his, but the Indians can afford to ask a lot in return- that package won’t get it done
Pitching has killed us this series especially the blowpen.
We should life, then died down.
can we start a petition to have Chip transferred to NY? I think he would have a much better time licking Jeter’s balls from there. . .
June 25th, 200910:26 pm
No one reading this can make it happen, but it would benefit both teams.
Trade Kotchman for a quality defensive SS, move Yunel to 3B, and move Chipper to 1B.
We need some bats in that middle of the order.
won’t be able to use “at least the Philly lost” much longer
soon a team in the NL east will get in first place and actually win and no longer will the braves be able to rely so much on another team to keep them in the race.
June 25th, 200910:27 pm
Acosta’s straight fastball…delicious for Arod
CT in AL
“Look at this!!!! Look at that hunk-a-man Derek Jeter!! Oh how he gets my blood a boiling. What an at-bat by Mr. Derek Jeter! Listen to my high voice, you cannot imagine how excited I am right now! Even my eye brows are giving him a standing O. What a man…” – Chip Caray, no lie thats what he said, i DVR’d it
sorry- didn’t see where you corrected yourself. apologies.
I don’t have any idea but I think it would cost more then I’d be willing to give up- top prospect or 2 at least
Indians have even already said they want pitching.
All i am looking forward to is HANSON ROY run
The difference in the game right now is that the Yankees are doing everything right and the Braves are auditioning for the movie Major League: Atlanta style.
No Mas!!! Yeah Chip you dweeb… “NO MAS” means no more of you!
June 25th, 200910:28 pm
Looky looky looky
Here comes cookie
Cook’s Pest Control!
just think, this is what it was like last year. Pitchers going 3 innings and killing the already poor bullpen…. This also might be the worst defensive game any team has played all year….
DeRo is a rental it cant cost too much. We could get him at the right price.
June 25th, 200910:29 pm
This team has a lot of holes – 1B, LF, RF, 3B, 4 arms in the bullpen, and a new coach. I hope ownership has another $40 mil they can drop on this team. Maybe then, fans will show up, you know..actual Braves fans.
Hey guys, sometimes you just have to tip your cap….
CT AL, LOL @ Chips eyebrows. his eyebrows spread extra wide for Jeter and A-rod tonight.
June 25th, 200910:30 pm
Medlen is only 22 i think he will be a good pitcher, they brought him up too early. We could give a guy like Acosta too.
I don’t know what you see in Tex. I hope it’s not the money
OMFG, the Braves are getting worse and worse and worse every year since ‘06. Think about it, all this pitching they have and they’re how many under .500? I’ll bet with this pitching from ‘06-’08 that they would be at or over .500. Agree with me? The pen is struggling right now, but those are the middle relief, crappy pitchers. Lowe is struggling, but that’s normal for him to go through these stretches.
They are going nowhere because bad teams are like this….. they hit, don’t pitch…..pitch and they don’t hit. They will finish 3rd/4th again. Bobby Cox isn’t to fully blame but he’s lost the edge. Wren doesn’t know how to put a winning team on the field, obviously. Yep, the ‘09 Braves SUCK!
2nd sell out of the year and Braves playing like crap.
Tomahawkin, Did I call Chip a jerk. If I did, didn’t mean to. I like Chipper, but sometimes he just needs to shut his mouth and play ball. He has provided nothing since the Brewer series. All singles. If noone is getting on infront of you, just hit a solo HR. AS hot as Bmac has been, I find it hard to believe that they are still pitching around him. The last AB against pettite, he was praticly begging for a walk, putting the pressure on someone else.
Lets break out the bats,
Steve from OH
June 25th, 200910:31 pm
Unknown, if you think 3B is a hole for the club then you’re out of your mind…but then again didn’t you suggest sending Diory down for Canziares while Yunel and Prado both play through injury?
OMG…they are playing MJ…..sad
um…..we’re gonna need more than one bat to turn it around…..we’re gonna need some bullpen help too…….
Acosta is like Jekyl and Hyde — gives up 2 hits but strikes out the side.
If we won those sell out games, maybe more people would show up to the other games
Wayne in Utah
Money will not fix the Braves problems.
The Braves Haven’t won a series in a Month…And I think D.O.B. Is the Only one who thinks they can win the division…
June 25th, 200910:32 pm
Even two years ago, Braves had a fantastic offense
thanks…not sure the pitchers I’d be willing to part with would entice the Indians
the thing is, though, is the Indians don’t HAVE to trade him. Sure, they may lose him for nothing but it might be worth the risk if they don’t find anything they like in a deal. And again, with multiple teams interested, they can drive up the price
The show life……..at times
June 25th, 200910:33 pm
Are they even trying anymore?
rest assured, sweetie, it ain’t the money (although that’s nice too)
The Yankee BP isn’t underrated….our players are OVERRATED.
our poor positions
Rf-but frenchy has been doing better
June 25th, 200910:34 pm
i wonder what goes through Wrens head right now,
June 25th, 200910:35 pm
Martin never quits
“Hey guys, sometimes you just have to tip your cap….”
Or you could wonder how many more runs we would have too if we could work with 4 outs or more an inning for half the game.
I said on here a lil while ago that Lowe was throwing to many pitches. If the ump is not giving hime that low strike like tonight, he is going to get hammered, and hammered he did. He has no out pitch, and the Yanks unlike the Braves just hit the ball where it was pitched.
Some 2-out magic maybe? Time for Chipper and McCann here.
Why is everyone praising Bobby cox
June 25th, 200910:36 pm
Are they even trying anymore? – bravos2249
Yanks have ripped their hearts out. Just RIPPED ‘em out!
Sabermetrics reveals the Braves have more runs per dollar spent, tonight.
Where do you go to get defensive information about baseball players?
…or not… ugh.
June 25th, 200910:37 pm
Chipper is only on pace for 65-75 Ribeyes…
I say that because he will have another nagging injury that keeps him out a few games here and there…
Not the stats you want from your “Self Proclaimed Leader”
D.O.B. I was Knocking You for being optomistic 9I read your evaluation about 10 days ago)…But this team has been so inconsistant and we see the same stuff happen night in and night out…
I dunno what It is But real braves fans watch this crap and refuse to jump on frontrunners bandwagons unlike most Atlanta sports fans….
Chip Caray is a BUFFOON
chip is a buffoon, but I’m glad to hear his tribute to the Bataan death march vet. Read about what they went through. Amazing the guy lived to his 90’s, had a family, etc.
June 25th, 200910:38 pm
Even without the miscues…the Yankees would still be leading us.
but by like 1 run…not FIVE
My bad D.O.B. I meant to say I wasn’t Knocking You about being Optomistic about the 09 Braves…But I only see them making a run at the W.C. Unless we get Holliday, Or Dye…Not a DeRosa Or a Milky Cabrera
agree Brave4life…They wonder why no one goes to games. Just look what they put on the field.
BAH, did you just hear Chip bragging on Yankees mgr. His opinion is 100% different from you.
Wayne in Utah-
this is the site I use for most stats- fielding and hitting- seems pretty good
Chop it up All-Stars
June 25th, 200910:39 pm
Keep running Martin Prado out there and let Kelly come off the bench. BTW, I love this lineup; just a bad pitching performance from our “ace” tonight.
The Braves have won a series this month. They won the Cubs Series — took them 21 days but they won 2 of 3 from the Cubbies.
June 25th, 200910:40 pm
No more inter-league.
Wayne–fangraphs has UZR, which I think is pretty good, not great, and you can find Fielding Bible (which I consider to be better) statistics here:
May we never see fielding % on the blog again…
Boy oh boy is the decline steep for Chipper. Hes gonna bring that career avg. under .300 with 3 more years of this. He’s clearly lost it a step in every facet of his game. I bet he struggles to get to 15/70/.290
what sad about losing to the yankees is that I am having to hear my dumbass neighbors talk smack about his yankees. go back to NY you fool!!! go braves, go dawgs, go falcons!!!
Isay we sweep the REDSOX
June 25th, 200910:41 pm
Tex must be feeling right at home at the Ted. He had an 0 for 5 night.
As bad as we play some nights, I still hope we don’t trade away a guy like Medlen for help this year. I see him being a good pitcher, with his stuff. Just gotta let him develop.
We really don’t have much to deal otherwise, unless it is a low minors guy, and I hate dealing those guys, as it might come back to bite you in the butt.
This game was lost in the 1st 5 innings when we didnt make their pitchers for their poor pitching.
Chop it up All-Stars, I am going to argue that Lowe is not our Ace. We paid 60 mil for no more than a #3 at best. He is not an Ace because he can not comeout and shut teams down. Right now the true Ace is Vasquez.
June 25th, 200910:42 pm
I live in New York, and have to deal with BS everyday
This series reminds me a lot of the Red Sox series. It looked like we could compete with better pitching, but some bad luck and some poor performances have negated that to cause us to lose both series.
Hey Chip just praise both NY teams, Boston, Fla, Phillies, and cubs, why don’t ya.
Did Chip just try to be cool with his “Money, money, money!” Oh my god.
What a douche.
Good plan…I’ll let Bobby know
June 25th, 200910:43 pm
this was really a must win with the phillies struggling and the Mets and Fish surging. I dont see them making up 4 games no way no how. fire sale and lets let the kids play and hope and pray next year will be a little better.
Lowe hasnt had his sinker working at all
I’m calling 1-2-3 inning…
I agree, Vazquez is more dominant than Lowe. You need a strike out pitch to be effective.
June 25th, 200910:44 pm
You know, for the better part of a month I kept saying the Braves problem was in the bullpen. I got called a moron for not “understanding” that the problem was the with the bats. Well, I’ll compromise. The Braves problem is that they can’t out-hit what the pen gives up.
Everyone should be happy now.
cabravesfan and Steve…..thanks.
Chris, you are right. Interleague games have kicked our butts, but they have been good for attendance though….. Little consolation though.
All we need is another 5-run inning….he we did it earlier in the game, we can do it again. Right?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
