Yay! Go Frenchy! But of course…next is KJ.
We should have won this game already.
Let’s go Kelly. Keep it going.
he doesn’t make it easy and he knocks one in
do something good kelly!!!
I know Mitchell. Just get tired of people whining that we don’t win because of “breaks”. Good teams make their own breaks, and the bad calls even out over a 162 game schedule.
Bad decisions (who pitches) by the manager, mental errors, poor defense, poor AB’s, etc… are an on-going theme with this team.
Besides, even as a Braves fan, I was aware of the fact that Glavine and Maddux got a LOT of calls that other pitchers weren’t getting in the 90’s on the outside corners.
Did you complain about those on a nightly basis?
Now is the perfect time for Kelly to get a long ball.
Good hitting by Jeff, gotta give credit where credit is due.

He has looked a lot better lately. Don’t trade him. Give him the rest of the season.
Frank from KS
Atta way there Frenchy.
JJ (WTH is Jeff Bennett still on the roster???)
Yo Paul –
What’s the excuse on that one?? Lemme guess….he shoulda hit it out or for extra bases, right??
If you trade him we would be selling low.
Must give credit. Nice hit JF.
pinch hit ross for kj…..please
You know what, no matter what happens I like that they didn’t lay down and die when the yankees went up 4-0 on ‘em.
This is it………….mariano against out left handed hitter……………..lets go bravos…………….
Does Cox has anything against Panamenians?
Frank From KS…
You know She’s Known As the “late Miss Elizabeth” Right…?
And I believe Lex Luger is Still Locked Up…So Is He a Thug…?
June 24th, 20099:59 pm
Braves 4 (Bobby Cox and Yankees) 6
ok, i’m now predicting KJ rolls over an off speed pitch and grounds weakly to 2nd…
Kj you’re due
Kelly, this would be a nice time to break out of your slump
Call Hank Steinbrenner now and tell him Frenchy is available! We’ll get something out of Frenchy that way!
That was a VERY nice AB by Jeff. Swung for the fenses on the first two pithces. But after he was down 0-2, his approach seemed more collected.
The sad thing is, is that the 0-2 slider was a hanger. If Jeff would be willing to go to RF, that was a pitch that he could hammer the other way. Maybe not for a HR, but for a double down the RF line, just by going that way and flicking his rists at it. Pujols would have put that pitch about 30 rows deep in RF.
But in the end, it was a very nice AB by him. More of that will go a long way this year.
Like I said, this team has a ton of fight in them and you negative losers that come on here and say “it’s over,Braves suck!” need a good a** whoopin!
Wow…This May be the First Game In Months Where Francine Has carried the offense in the whole game…That is just how Garbage Our Offense has been…
Does anyone know if Francoeur and Johnson have a hit in the same inning?
June 24th, 200910:00 pm
Brooklyn Braves Brawler
Here come the Mighty Moe Rivera for rare 4 out save. KJ has the swing to get at Moe. Let’s hope
Wayne in Utah
Come on now, you can’t be too positive here during a game, unless we are about 8-10 runs ahead…….
That was a good at-bat (the first swing not withstanding). I have to agree with Joe Simpson this time. Francoeur put some good wood on that one.
I think that the camera man did a boo boo. While showing Francoeur in the dugout during the pitching change, it “looked” like Francour picked up a bag of chewing tobacco.
Do any of you know if Francoeur does indeed chew the tobacco?
Gotta give the Braves some credit here for not rolling over. They are making it at least a little exciting.
Steve from OH
Is this a person born to one Panamanian and one Armenian parent? I don’t think those exist…
Act like you’re playing for your job here, KJ.
June 24th, 200910:01 pm
You gotta swing KJ!
KJ Come On!!
Fight Fight Fight!!!
One time Kelly
KJ come on!
One more at bat left
not a chance
Ok, I have a theory. When Francoeur has a decent day, the Braves usually lose.
And, KJ…really dude? REALLY?
This is what Bennett should have done when he came in.
KJ = WORTHLESS!
Not Now Kato!
June 24th, 200910:02 pm
Did anyone think KJ would get any part of that cutter? lol
KJ blows, that was a ball!
Oh well, we can’t expect greatness from both KJ and Francoeur all in the same game.
if KJ was ever going to get out of the slump that was the moment…ouch
Kelly was simply overmatched.
kelly strikeouts out … big surprise there, even with it being Rivera
Nuff Said!!! Game Over…!
Soriano Should Be coming in for the Save…Thanks A Million F-king Defense/Umps!!!
GOD I hate yankee fans. Even more obnoxious than Red Socks fans
KJ just needs to get hot.. go on one of his patented hot streaks…
If FatA$$ could manage he would of had Prado playing 2nd instead of his BS left right crap he lives by
June 24th, 200910:03 pm
Well…they did atleast give themselves a chance here. I woiuld guess they would bring in Diaz to pinch-hit, so we couldn’t really ask for the better guys to be coming to the plate with the game on the line.
At least we turned the lineup over and have the top of the lineup coming up in the 9th after the pinch hitter.
We’re playin’ well. Could have easily won this game (not that it’s over obviously) but I guess I should just give the Yankees credit.
Stay tuned for that.
Lets see what Acosta’s got
oh, you can’t patent a hot streak… never mind
Should be a tie game!!!!
June 24th, 200910:04 pm
You Actually Think Our 2009 AWfense Is Gonna Fight And Come Back against Mo…?
Come On Bro, I know You Better than that…
I wonder if anyone in the park other than KJ thought he was going to get anything other than that cutter on the fist? I mean Rivera doesn’t even have another pitch! He gets ahead of lefties, he shoots one outside then busts ‘em on the fist with the cutter.
I think all of you KJ lovers need to quit pounding Jeff and grill your second baseman. Prado has got to play more at 2nd.
Yes because Jeff Bennett and Mariano Rivera have so much in common.
TBF(n)K as Billy
Diaz, McClouth, and Escobar in the bottom….then chipper with game on the line….
June 24th, 200910:05 pm
If your dumb@$$ would have read DOB’s post or payed attention Prado has been playing hurt and needs rest…he ph and he was taken out because he can’t run well.
I am really excited about how Kawakami has pitched lately. He showed no fear of the Yankees or Red Sox. He might be a keeper. This game changed when he got hurt.
See, here’s the problem with say “Sh!t happens” – It’s 6-4 now. The HOFer shouldn’t have brought Loser Bennett in with the bases loaded AND then compounded the issue by bringing him BACK out the next inning. Then, the UMP screws up and costs the braves another 2 runs. So we’ve got AT LEAST 3 runs, if not 5 invested in either bad ump calls or poor managing by the ole HOFer.
Yeah, Sh!t happens sometimes, but this much sh!t in one game makes some of us a little cranky.
Who the hell is that on the mound? lol
He’ll probably make me look stupid with all the complaining I did about him getting some work.
June 24th, 200910:06 pm
I think KJ is going to get benched. At least Frenchy is trying!
Dub switch, with Matty leading the 9th off, Mclouth than Esco with Chipper lurking
Not Now Kato!
Either way a future HOF isn’t going to throw the same pitch 4 times in a row.
Prado is better on one leg than a healthy Kelly Johnson
Acosta pitching late tells me bobby had no other choice than to put bennett in….we dont have anyone in AAA that can fill bennets roll
June 24th, 200910:07 pm
I hate this Yankee catcher guy. He’s really irritating.
Hmmm a double switch by the Braves? Why would he do that? Who would be left on the bench that would be a better AB than Jeff if it got that far?
Tomahawkin, I just said they have fight in them, that’s all. Never said they were the most talented hitters.
Wayne In Utah…
I keep calling Game Over because the Braves Keep Teasing Us…Much like they did in the last Boston Game
The Offense Tries to come back then We proceed to Go out the next inning and then get a combo of Dumb Defense/Mental Errors/F’d Up calls by the Umps To decide the game…
Would have been pretty awesome if KJ hit it out. I too am waiting for one of those old fashioned Kelly Johnson hot streaks.
I like Manny but it’s been too long since he last pitched. What’ya know? He got him.
June 24th, 200910:08 pm
we shoulda beaned that yankee catcher….what a douche bag
Kelly Johnson couldn’t hit an elephant in the a$$ with a bass fiddle.
Man, i bet you can scoop that tension in the booth with a spoon.
…keep in mind, that Bobby does not tend to use both his catchers in one game.
Rob from SC
KK is the man, he deals and keeps the team in the game. He whould have 3 more wins and less losses.
There is the Loaf we know
I think you gotta blame DOB for BMac’s bad game. I mean he comes out today and calls him one of the best offensive catchers of all time and he has a 3 strikeout game. Good job DOB!
Wow is Garret Anderson slow. Horrible route on top of it.
Can we just effing release Loaf? What a BUM!
Did something happen to Frenchy?
Way to go Loaf….hold em to a double.
June 24th, 200910:09 pm
Loaf loafs like no other! That guy has no defensive skills at all
It really looked like GA could have caught that ball. I mean, god forbid he lay out for a ball!
Come on Jeter, hit it to Jeff.
Yeah, I know she passed away in 02 or 03 (can’t remember which) because of Mr. Luger.
Tomawkin’….you look up classy in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Miss Elizabeth right next to it cause THAT’S exactly what she was.
Not Mac- Acosta…ball bounced about 5 feet in front of the plate
We score, they score, we score, they scored. I can’t watch anymore.

How to Lose a Game 101 by the Atlanta Braves tonight-textbook $29.95
We GIVE teams at least 4-5 runs a week with our defense!! (Wild pitches included)
At some point though if the Braves really want to go on a winning strek, and with our starting pitching they can do that, they can’t keep making all these mental errors. I’m curious just how many runs our infielders and pitchers and catchers has cost us this year.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
