Mac has been Chasing tonight
TBF(n)K as Billy
Joba pitched a helluva game….you cant expect to win 1 nothing going to your bullpen in the third inning. Miscue suck….Oflagherty screwed up the johnson play was just bad umping and could of been played better but one of those things….sh1t happens…
(had to turn the volume back up……..it was weird)
Oklahoma Brave…Sutcliffe is outspoken that it was a bad call. Quit bagging on the announcers. You people should just watch the game with the sound down as much as you complain about the announcing.
UMPIRE WASN’T EVEN WATCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cox lost this game
The Abs Man
Bobby Cox would have to improve to just suck.
And Braves have worse fundamentals than a little league team.
They don’t play smart. But nobody cares. Certainly not Bobby Cox. That’s what is called a “players’ manager.:
June 24th, 20099:47 pm
KJ did exactly what he was supposed to do, Mac did exactly what he was supposed to do (i.e. hit the runner in the back because he was out of the lane) Ump failed badly doing what he was supposed to do
Poorjeff, the Yankees aren’t a good team. They have always gotten the calls. Throughout the history of the game, always.
They built a dynasty in the ’90s on an egregious fan interferrence call. Not to defend the Cubs because they suck and their fans are low-lifes but a fan famously interferes with a ball in a playoff game and it costs them a chance to go to the World Series. Not surprisingly though, Cubs fans vidictively turn on one of their own.
But while everybody else gets robbed the Yankees get help when they don’t even need it.
Probably missed due to the next page, but what were the rumors involving Melky?
I bet peter red sox gammons and buster Yankees olney will be all over this game. I just pissed on the toilet seat.
Ugh. Forgive me McFann but McCann has really P’d me off tonight.
Alright Loaf, need one of your professional at bats here.
where was the mccann from last night.
That was the worst AB I have ever seen Brian have.
Mac has been over aggressive tonight. I think one pitch in that at bat was a strike.
Time to get Brian some new glasses.
how is this bobby cox fault some tell me please freaking 12 year olds should be banned from the internet
Two high fastballs at which McCann should not have swung.
June 24th, 20099:48 pm
Mccann has swung at some horrible pitches tonight-unlike him

“They’re Still Sh…tty!!!”
Not a good time for Mac to be tanking.
Bobby Cox Hat Tipping Club
The ump was stylin’ to make the out call and wasn’t looking at first, Chip…you dummy! He wasn’t looking at first!
God I hate Chip Carey! “In all fairness my azz!”
Ump didn’t lose this if the Braves do lose, but Chip doesn’t need to be making excuses for a bad call because the ump was stylin’ on the out call at the plate instead of continuing his obligation on the play.
TBF(n)K as Billy
for bringing in jeff bennett
June 24th, 20099:49 pm
Rough night for McCann. He’ll rebound.
Last night the bullpen was spectacular…tonight, not so much.
What is you’re freaking problem???
You can’t be nearly as t’d off as me. No need to ask for forgiveness.
“They built a dynasty in the ’90s on an egregious fan interferrence call.”
Wow. That play affected all four of the WS titles the Yanks won? That’s incredible.
“The poor Mets”???? Eff you, Joe Simpson. $2000 DOB if you’ll take ‘em both.
Wayne in Utah
What’s the word on Kawakami?? Hope he is OK.
JJ (WTH is Jeff Bennett still on the roster???)
Leave it to Chip to excuse make for the home plate ump that WASN’T EVEN WATCHING THE PLAY!!
June 24th, 20099:50 pm
who else is he going to bring in?
1 fastball, 2 curve, 3 uhhhhhh
I know McFann. I figured you were probably just as mad as me. Just a bad night for him, I guess.
WHY Da Hell Do People On This Blog Think Milky Cabrera Will be Savior of this AWFense…?
Come On People! Please….!
GA got some good wood on that one…
June 24th, 20099:51 pm
Manny Acosta, Peter Moylan could also get one batter.
Bennett is useless
I wish Chipper would just kick CDJ in the lower extremities…I would laugh
Oh Joe’s got jokes now? “Need another baserunner for Francoeur to come up”
And now we’re into the abyss that is the bottom of our lineup. Pathetic really. What a very frustrating game this turned out to be.
SO happy to see Chipper laughing it up with Jeter.
June 24th, 20099:52 pm
It ain’t Jeter’s fault that Jeff Bennett sucks.
Joe Simpson is too funny. “We need Casey to get on so Francoeur can represent the tying run”, lol. Asking Francoeur to hit 2 homers in a game is asking for WAY TOO MUCH.
I remember he said that same thing on Saturday in the Boston game, only to see Francoeur hit into an inning ending double play.
June 24th, 20099:53 pm
cabravesfan, I concur with your 9:47. You’re way to rational.
NOW we’re bringing in Soriano?!!?
Hoss yucking it up with DJ?
Guess what Chipper we’re in a freakin’ ballgame here!!!
“What’s the word on Kawakami?” Wayne
The umpires just announced that he didn’t actually get hit by the ball. It was an optical illusion to help the Yankees get back into this game.
ESPN acknowledged the announcement, saying it was the correct call.
Of course….Soriano warming up. You knew the HOFer would do that. What a freaking dolt…
If Acosta let the team would Bobby Cox notice
up .. to jeff.
don’t make it easy on them jeff …
big gun is up….
1st pitch out
Uh oh…JF at the plate. What will he do?
Come on N8, you know what I mean.
It’s a common theme with them.

This isn’t about whether clutch exists or not. Whether it’s the ninth inning or the first inning, within 1 run or 4, whatever, Tex hits the same. The numbers are there, man. I don’t know why you’re being so difficult about this. You’re remembering situations in which he failed more than he succeeded–and the numbers say he succeeded equally in every situation. I’m sorry, but I think you’re way off base. Not trying to pick on you because I generally enjoy your posts, but IMO there is just no way in hell that Tex is “not clutch.”
And I do think you are being a bit unfair. From the day he was brought here he was expected to homer in every single PA and hit a 2-run double every time we were down 1 in the ninth. It don’t work that way, man. Tex has hit better with 2 outs and RISP and in the ninth inning throughout his career than Brian McCann has. Are you saying Mac isn’t clutch? Because he is. And if Mac is very good–nay, great–with RISP and 2 outs, and Tex is statistically better, how can it logically follow that Tex is somehow not good in those situations? If Tex’s numbers when during “late and close” situations and when the game is within one run are better than Mac’s, how can Tex logically be bad at hitting in the clutch?
Oh, and here’s the real gem–Tex is BETTER with RISP/2 outs than Chipper. Tex is better in “late and close” than Chipper. Again, logic man. I think Chipper and Mac are a helluva pair of clutch hitters. But I think Tex is too. If you don’t, I think it’s because you won’t accept it rather than you don’t believe it. I think for you it’s personal. For me, it’s not. I don’t care who Tex is or what team he plays for, I think he’s a helluva ballplayer. And I’d like to see someone bring up any stats that disagree with that assessment. Because I haven’t found too many.
So for the Yankees to win they have to:
1. Hurt the starting pitcher
2. Get a manager thrown out
3. Have there catcher talking all night and hit his 1st homer all season
4. Get some help from the Umps
5. Get some help from the Braves
And that translates to a whopping 6 runs. There killing us man, this Yankee machine.
Does Babe Francoeur have one more in him???
June 24th, 20099:54 pm
Everybody chill out. Francoeur is up. We got this!
Jeff finding two in one night?
My odds at hitting the Power Ball is better.
do you want the big gun, or the good package…
I keep forgetting that rational thought is frowned upon here
Francine Is thinking Homer in this Situation, Not Good!!!
late on that FB
I don’t know if there’s a word for this type of emotion…DANG I hate crying like this over a stupid, friggin’ baseball game!
Are the junkees catcher and reliever dating or something? that catcher has gone to the mount like 10 times this inning.
Hey, it worked. Francoeur can tie it.
If he actually connects, that is.

If I may put my $0.02 cents in to your and Tomahawkin’s WWF/WWE convo on two blogs ago or so……
I grew up being more a 80’s WWF era fan, myself (Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Jake the Snake Roberts, Miss Elizabeth :>), Ultimate Warrior..just to name a few). Hulk Hogan was and always will be my all-time favorite wrestler (I still get pumped when I hear is famous ring intro music *I’m A Real American*…and Miss Elizabeth (I hate Lex Luger) will always be my all-time favorite lady of wrestling.
I was tho a huge fan of the Stone Cold Steve Austin, Debra, Mick Foley, Sable, Rock era.
There will never be two era’s of WWF/WWE again.
Brooklyn Braves Brawler
Don’t need a homer Frenchy, just a double
how about a hr now francine when it really means something
The answer is no, Wayne. Even little kids hide their face when Jeff is at bat.
Last 2 at-bats, Francoeur has swung for the fences.
Here’s a news flash for you Francoeur: It’s probably gonna be awhile before you see another “hanger”.
Frenchy….the mighty hitter. What’s he gonna do?
June 24th, 20099:55 pm
Whew….impressed he didn’t swing at the 0-2 pitch
who is Bruney talking too
TBF(n)K…thank you. I am totally with you. Too many 12 year olds. Seriously, whenever the Braves lose it is Bobby’s fault. It’s getting old listening to all of the bashing on this blog. If it weren’t for DOB’s insight, I wouldn’t even continue to check it.
Strike out or pop up?
I have the Same Reaction as that kid that had the glove over his face watching Francine’s At-Bats!
That Kid Must read this blog…
June 24th, 20099:56 pm
remember ‘96? Braves up 6-3 on the Yanks in the 8th. Then Leyritz….this is where it evens out! Right Frenchy?
Every time the catcher sets up outside on Frenchy, I just wait for the wiff. Twice in this AB he was laid off.
And this happens to me all the time, too–I spend the afternoon talking about what a great hitter BMac is, and what does he do?
Well, you know the answer…
June 24th, 20099:57 pm
Come on jeff. By the way if you have directv I suggest you watch deadwood on the 101. Never should have been canceled by hbo. Anybody know when it’s always sunny I
great at bat for Francoeur
We need a baseball IQ coach for the offseason.
Can we get him to make a few guest appearances on the blog?
What’s up with Frenchy today?
Attaboy Frenchy, again!!!
Wow…great abat from Jeff…
and who didn’t see that coming?
Holy crap…..He got ANOTHER hit!!!
The sky is falling. Now we need a miracle from KJ. Good at bat JF!
Francine…There We Go!!! Its about time you’ve made up for the last 2 years!!!
Francoeur looks more stunned than I do right now, which is saying a lot!
Good AB for Frenchy!
We are not going down without a damn fight-this bodes well win or lose
Good AB Jeff!
Wow! Am I surprised!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
