Was in the baseline right now. Bad call!
Giving runs back…Braves-tacular.
Bobby Cox Hat Tipping Club
Why is it that the Braves seem to have a hand in waking struggling teams up?
Won’t it be special if the Yanks go on a tear after tonight’s game? Because it’s the Yankees, we’ll hear about it for the rest of the year! lol
Kelly f*ck*ing Johnson….
Bobby isn’t nearly mad enough. Come on bobby, throw your cap. Kick some dirt. Pick up a base.
rob from sc
we are the only team to get call with interference
I love braves pitchers when we score runs they love to give them right back.
who knew I finally switched I couldn’t take it anymore… now i’m muting it
JJ (WTH is Jeff Bennett still on the roster???)
June 24th, 20099:35 pm
put a bag in foul ground
Bobby – get your money’s worth. Get yourself thrown out. Maybe it’ll help.
It’s sloppy play like this that sinks the Braves. They just had a good half inning, and put some runs on the board, then show up like this.
that is awful, awful, awful
UNREAL HOW WE GET ROBBED -G DAMN IT!!!!!!!
Well get out of this, still have two at bats left.
yankees, slurp…. yankees hitting, slurp… yankees pitching, slurp…
no way Moylan was going out there tonight …he pitched 1 2/3 innings last night..this team has absolutel ZERO fundamentals…it is never really emphasized in spring training, or if it was it is not taking. If Ton Pena wants to manage again he would look great in a Braves uniform. Ok this is the even-up call at 1st base. You can yell “BS” all you want Bobby, wishyou would give your players HeLL more, and YES in PUBLIC. tired of their sorry play
That was not Kelly’s fault- not a damn thing he could have done
Bobby gets thrown out to fire up the troops…..no
More luck for the Yanks. What else is … new?
where is Acosta
Hey, we’ve played pretty well for several days, one bad game doesn’t mean things aren’t still looking up. If KK had been able to continue, we’d have won this game. Just a bad break.
Now the umps can’t get the rules right. These are their rules and they can’t get them right.
June 24th, 20099:36 pm
Umpy missed that one. I guess we can’t complain since he blew that pickoff call in the 6th.
the umps are worse than the braves
Kotchman didn’t make a good throw but whatever. The main problem is McCann throwing from outside the baseline and Johnson setting up inside the baseline, giving McCann nothing to throw to.
Johnson messed up. Poor fundamentals…YET AGAIN.
Umps have been terrible lately. I have said it for years, we need robot umps.
The runner was inside the line…but… McCann did go to the foul side of the line, so, I do agree with Sutcliffe, for once, the KJ should have been on the other side of the bag too.
I can’t believe Bobby didn’t get himself tossed. That sucks.
Was it an interference???
Bull Fin Sh!t
Yankess/Sox always get the damn calls-unreal
we really need to win this game…..cano way inside the line! that sucks!
and you know the yanks are going to put up a ten spot tomorrow. this homestand could easily be as bad as we all thought it would be before monday…..
McFann..what is up with McCann
Brooklyn Braves Brawler
Time to bring up Boone Logan
down 3 again
I feel really bad for Escobar
June 24th, 20099:37 pm
Typical Braves though, fight back and the bp blows it
so now the braves will blame that bad call for the reason they lose……..not the fact that BC put jeff dumb ass bennett in the game
Yahoo! Sports MLB news story: “Teddy Bear” Bobby Cox … didn’t get tossed.
What did ESPN have to say about that one????????
Game is over.
BAD DEFENSE TODAY
you got a base open and 2 outs, drill the hitter…
rob from sc
what does that have to do with the play?
Don’t ask me that right now!!
That wasn’t entirely McCann fault, either.
June 24th, 20099:38 pm
Bravesman, you must be watching on gameday? CLEARLY interference.
I am rooting religously against the Yankees the rest of the season
the hope of the braves nation rests in your hands mr hanson
why should bobby get tossed? its not like its going to fire up this lifeless team. there is nothing anyone can do to fire this team up. bobby might as well stay in the game and make a few more managerial mistakes….
TBF(n)K as Billy
announcers have been fair all game…
2 f,/;$&/@ games shafted by the umps. Why won’t the league look at the douche bags and put their suspensions and fines on the crawl on espn. I hate bud selig.
lets make it happen
We have gotten screwed so many times by that call when someone was barely in the baseline and now we can’t be the benefactors of it.
Wayne in Utah
Just how many times are you going to call this game?????
The bad call by the umpire shouldnt matter. If O’Flaherty covers first, if he doesnt throw the wild pitch, then the inning is over with.
I’m not going to sit here and blame the umpires. O’Flaherty is solely to blame for this inning.
cause he is the only who gets benched
June 24th, 20099:39 pm
PS–I highly disagree with your assessment of that call, sir.
Good team always get the calls.
Rays still leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Gotta start rootin’ for the Rays tonight again. It would be nice if we could just worry about our own team, but…
They get paid to do a job, doesnt this stuff go on there record or something

That was a poor call by the umps, but, O’Flaherty’s mental mistake on not covering first base put the first run to score on base and the ground out that scored the second run would have been the third out of the inning.
You can blame the blown call, but you really have to blame the mental error.
What’s the point of Replay if you can’t use it on dead ball calls like that? What the crap? That’s why the NFL is king. They would make an immediate rule change for that play. Unbelievable. Costs a 2 freakin runs!!!!
ef the yankies
To the cheaters go the spoils. I hope you get hepatitus A-Roid.
I can’t even really be that mad. This hasn’t been a fair game on any level. I sound like I’m complaining but it’s true.
If KK didn’t get hit we could have won 1-0. What are you going to do?
The call made up for the pick off that Medlen was given…Most of the times, the calls even out. The Braves just ned to take advantage of the breaks when they get them.
June 24th, 20099:40 pm
Chip Carey is a schmuck. I had to turn the volume off.
McFann throwin’ out some Diaz quotes there! I like it.
This is easily the most annoyed I’ve been watching the Braves this year.
I agree with Paul If EOF was paying attention on that earlier play it wouldn’t have came to the bases loaded situation
here vomes there Bullpen lets try to kill it.
how can you not blame the umpire for that call?
All this was a result of a bad throw by CK……….the almost threw it into the on deck circle………man…talk about self destruction…………We had the game on our hands………BTW, why didnt KJ tried the DP……….he could at least have tried.
That’s fine Steve. Think what you want. Take the stats for what they are. But I saw plenty of games last year where he “padded” his stats in meaningless situations and failed to come through when a simple base hit would have won a game.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this. If I’m being unfair because we gave up 5 prospects for him, and his slow start caused us to lose a TON of 1-run games, than that’s my problem I guess, huh?
I know Shawn and others out there don’t believe in “clutch”. I do. Chipper is clutch. Chipper in his MVP year SINGLE HANDEDLY buried the Mets. He was CLUTCH. Justice and Gant used to be clutch. McGriff was clutch.
Mark Teixeira in a Braves uniform during his 2008 “walk” year was NOT clutch. That’s what I’m basing my opinion on. The games I watched.
Tex WAS clutch after the trade in 2007. If we could have had flipped his August and September numbers of 2007, with the April and May numbers the Braves would have had a 10 game lead in June.
Melky in the game, there goes the trade rumor
June 24th, 20099:41 pm
HOW MANY TIMES ARE GOING TO GET SCREWED BY THESE INCOMPETENT MLB UMPIRES THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Facto of the matter is, regardless of the clear interference by the base runner, KJ has to be on the other side of 1B to give Mac a target
June 24th, 20099:42 pm
I’m calling in sick tomorrow. This is @#$%^&#!!!
Let’s see four strikes for JD Drew Sunday, two umpires who apparently missed little league umpire training camp tonight.
Every year we read of players DFA at the end of the season how about a few umpire?
Whatever the blown call, EOF and Kotchman helped get that inning going with their mental error.
Just Like The Last Game in Boston…! The Defense Lost This Game…
Braves Have Had Piss Poor defense (Mentally and Physicall) for the last 3 years
The typical Braves two step…win two, lose two, win one , lose one! When you have an offense like the Braves, you can’t affor to give any runs away.
June 24th, 20099:43 pm
This game is over. We fought back but Eric O’Fagerty & the umps killed us.
Damn right, N8. Well said.
I have followed the braves since 1982 and I can tell you that I have never seen so many wrong calls against us………..bad calls costing us games……..lots…………….NEVER SEEN THAT SO MUCH IN JUST HALF A SEASON.
I’m not advocating more trade speculation, but since the Yanks are going to be IN ATL tomorrow, no reason he can’t play tonight and still be traded to the Braves after the game.
June 24th, 20099:44 pm
everybody get their Jeff Bennett all star votes in?
As soon as I see Bennett & O’Flarety come in to pitch, I know we’ve lost.
Good at bat Chipper.
I agree. Boone Logan time
Good start to the inning… Come on Brian. Put one in the gap baby.
I’m sure risk sutcliffe is in love with the call. Can’t catch a break other than Gardner. I hate bud selig!!! Drunk in Oklahoma and typing on an iPhone. My life sucks!
bravos2249…ESPN was hollering that the Umps got that call wrong, just like the pickoff earlier. They have been extremely fair in their call of the game.
Ugh, I don’t want to see the play anymore PTV. Stop it already.
June 24th, 20099:45 pm
OMG, the ump wasn’t even looking!!
What were the rumors about with Melky?
I disagree that KJ should have been on the outside of the bag. The runner should have been running in the 3 foot lane or to the foul territory side of the play. If KJ goes outside the bag and the runner runs where he’s supposed to be, you have a collision at the bag.
Good camera work by the Braves. Ump wasn’t even looking.
Rays doin’ their part…up 5-1 now.
We need a baseball IQ coach for the offseason. Players need to learn what to do on every play. Where to place yourself on the bag makes a big difference.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
