no way Moylan was going out there tonight …he pitched 1 2/3 innings last night..this team has absolutel ZERO fundamentals…it is never really emphasized in spring training, or if it was it is not taking. If Ton Pena wants to manage again he would look great in a Braves uniform. Ok this is the even-up call at 1st base. You can yell “BS” all you want Bobby, wishyou would give your players HeLL more, and YES in PUBLIC. tired of their sorry play

Kotchman didn’t make a good throw but whatever. The main problem is McCann throwing from outside the baseline and Johnson setting up inside the baseline, giving McCann nothing to throw to.
Johnson messed up. Poor fundamentals…YET AGAIN.

The runner was inside the line…but… McCann did go to the foul side of the line, so, I do agree with Sutcliffe, for once, the KJ should have been on the other side of the bag too.

The bad call by the umpire shouldnt matter. If O’Flaherty covers first, if he doesnt throw the wild pitch, then the inning is over with.
I’m not going to sit here and blame the umpires. O’Flaherty is solely to blame for this inning.

That was a poor call by the umps, but, O’Flaherty’s mental mistake on not covering first base put the first run to score on base and the ground out that scored the second run would have been the third out of the inning.
You can blame the blown call, but you really have to blame the mental error.

What’s the point of Replay if you can’t use it on dead ball calls like that? What the crap? That’s why the NFL is king. They would make an immediate rule change for that play. Unbelievable. Costs a 2 freakin runs!!!!

The call made up for the pick off that Medlen was given…Most of the times, the calls even out. The Braves just ned to take advantage of the breaks when they get them.

All this was a result of a bad throw by CK……….the almost threw it into the on deck circle………man…talk about self destruction…………We had the game on our hands………BTW, why didnt KJ tried the DP……….he could at least have tried.

That’s fine Steve. Think what you want. Take the stats for what they are. But I saw plenty of games last year where he “padded” his stats in meaningless situations and failed to come through when a simple base hit would have won a game.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this. If I’m being unfair because we gave up 5 prospects for him, and his slow start caused us to lose a TON of 1-run games, than that’s my problem I guess, huh?
I know Shawn and others out there don’t believe in “clutch”. I do. Chipper is clutch. Chipper in his MVP year SINGLE HANDEDLY buried the Mets. He was CLUTCH. Justice and Gant used to be clutch. McGriff was clutch.
Mark Teixeira in a Braves uniform during his 2008 “walk” year was NOT clutch. That’s what I’m basing my opinion on. The games I watched.
Tex WAS clutch after the trade in 2007. If we could have had flipped his August and September numbers of 2007, with the April and May numbers the Braves would have had a 10 game lead in June.

I disagree that KJ should have been on the outside of the bag. The runner should have been running in the 3 foot lane or to the foul territory side of the play. If KJ goes outside the bag and the runner runs where he’s supposed to be, you have a collision at the bag.

We need a baseball IQ coach for the offseason. Players need to learn what to do on every play. Where to place yourself on the bag makes a big difference.
