Now if we can hold them in the top of the 8th, then with the big boppers coming up, one swing will tie the game.
I really like McLouth. Right now, I think he is our best hitter (hitting like our best hitter……I still feel Chipper is our best player, he just isnt driving the ball like McLouth is right now). The Braves made an absolute steal when they fleeced McLouth from the Pirates.

Whoa, that’s not what you said, N8! You said he accumulates stats when it doesn’t matter–clearly that’s not true. Whether his team is up 4 runs or down 1, he hits about the same. His highest OPS is actually with RISP and 2 outs. And his career OPS split in May is .925. In March/April it’s only .781 (still above-average), which I’ll agree isn’t great for him. But isn’t putting up a .980 career OPS in August and a .997 career OPS in September “clutchier” than one in April? Doesn’t A-Rod get lambasted for that?
Sorry man, just because he didn’t perform for the first 2 months of 2008 doesn’t mean he’s not clutch or anything like that. To me, it’s just a case of people trying to find a fault in an otherwise wonderful player (hits for AVG/OBP/SLG, plays a great 1B, and IS CLUTCH).

In all fairness Soriano was warming up before McCann’s HR made it a for run game. Relievers say if they warm up they should pitch.

I get your point but I disagree………..Thats precisely why you have a thinking manager and not a robot. You have to think about tomorrow………..you think you wasted soriano if he doesnt pitch? I dont think so……..
Give me a better reason that …….. you warm up you pitch………….that just aint true.
Besides………..what is Bennett doing in a close game? ??

Where is Acosta? he has pitched much better………..even bobby cox would have been a better option to get to the hill………
It is just crazy to make the call to bennett.
Bennett should only pitch in the following situations:
1. Braves winning by 3 or more runs
2. Braves losing by 3 or more runs
3. Close games if there is no other pitcher available, meaning with this that all the other relievers have pitched or that there is no other reliever available because of back to back appearances.
4. When braves get eliminated from the race.

As much as I want to win, I am glad Kawakami is not injured.
Now for a serious question, is it an organizational problem that so many of our pitchers look scared to death at the first sign of trouble. Kyle Davies, Jo Jo Reyes, Charlie Morton, and now Medlen. Reyes and Medlen have good stuff. We need to help them before it is too late

We need to turn our frustration towards this clown on peachtree. Boog should be calling this game with joe. This guy who will remain nameless just works for tbs not the braves. He is one of those guys that loves the Yankees, Boston, etc…. Bring the redhead in for good!!!!
