Except in March, April and May of 2008, when the Braves got buried in the standings.
Tex was only slightly better last spring than Jeff was in April and May of this year. Barely.
So don’t give me that he’s thrives in every situation. He DID NOT thrive when the Braves NEEDED him to carry them on his back. Or didn’t you watch the games last year. LOL!

Gonzalez has been used on the 21, 22, 23.
Moylan has been used on the 21, 22, 23.
Soriano has been used on the 22, 23.
O’Flaherty has been used on the 21 and got tossed after one batter.
Acosta last pitched on the 14th!
Bennett pitched on the 20, 21 (one pitch)
This was a bad game to have your starter go three. Medlen needed to soak up 4-5 innings. But Moylan and Gonzalez have to be unavailable tonight.

I don’t want to hear that BS one more time from Chip carey about Girardi getting thrown as what woke up the Yankees either. Medlen has very little stamina and was making horrible pitches starting with that walk. Bennett is no more than a AA pitcher at best. Good pitching always win. Chip is trying to make it out to be a dramatic story.

This Jeff Bennett move into a 1-1 game vs. Yanks is the exact reason why Braves cannot be taken seriously as a quality team.
This 20-ton bull elephant in the room blocking Braves prograss is senile and stubborn Bobby Cox. Plain and simple.
Show some onions and leave old man. Before you kill another season.
What’s this morbid attraction to Bennett? Is he a relative? Does Cox owe the family some money?

I know. But too many times…not just with the Braves…managers put in MR when it’s a big spot and they fail. Would it have killed to have Moylan or Soriano pitch….maybe Soriano…but I would not have hated it one bit if Moylan came in…..if he gave it up, it’s not like he was struggling the last few days. I mean give Acosta a chance…he’s no worse than Bennett…if you have 7 guys in the BP use all of them!!

Like many said, pretty much no chance after losing KK. Medlen just isn’t there yet,if ever, and Bennett…well ’nuff said.They needed to score some runs and they didn’t. Too bad, hope KK is not hurt badly.

Yeah, I don’t get bringing Bennett in… Then, again, Kelly Johnson is at 2B. Go figure.
On another topic, Bench was a great catcher. Got to watch him play when I was a kid. The guy had one of the best arms of all time.
Once, I saw him flick the ball to first base from a crouch. Nearly caught the runner. Flicked it just as if he had stood and threw full force.
Ted Simmons and Gary Carter were very good catchers, but nothing compared to Bench.

For me, there is nothing else I can say about Bobby Cox. He plays his guys regardless of stats. Yes he won a World Series, but he lost 4 with Maddux Glavine Smoltz and Avery.

Way to go PRADO……..nice going the opposite way with 2 strikes.
Good spot for McLouth to come up….runners on 1st and 3rd, one out, fast runners on base with Kelly on 3rd and Blanco on 1st. I’d be happy with a sac fly right now (although I’d love to see him jack one right now, lol).

Right now he’s hurt….and DOB said the groin has been a problem with Prado for 2 yrs I think…he’d have to not play for 2 months to be fully healed…and the Braves really can’t afford that….whether Omar is healthy or not.
