Maybe Cox will come out to argue balls close to Johnson and scream out you suck Wang!
June 23rd, 20097:17 pm
I hope those fans can cheer and get into the game as loudly as they boo’ed Tex.
I think its pretty tacky to boo ANY former player but …. like Shef, he’s kind of an ass, plus, he went to Tech so I’ll let it go this time.

Everybody Wang,Chin tonight.
Tex can hit….what if…he was a brave – CorkylikesBeer
He couldn’t hit at the Ted until July or August.
June 23rd, 20097:19 pm
Those who’ve asked about Medlen, I asked Bobby Cox about it today and he said there just hasn’t been the situation arise lately because the starters have gone deep into games, etc.
He said he’s looking forward to getting him back in a game and would put him in a close game without hesitation.
Mixxo..our record reflects how well we are playing…especially our current first baseman…
FIRST PITCH SWINGING….UHG!!!
June 23rd, 20097:20 pm
Well, bravos2249 you can cross #1 off your list. They booed him.
We have a professional up here now, no 1st pitch outs.
June 23rd, 20097:21 pm
6 pitch inning..way to be patient
Like I said, professionals need 3 pitches, amateurs only 1.
Hope he has good control or one of Wang’s balls might hit the leadoff man in his McLouth. Surely our pitcher will bang their catcher or try to nail ARod.
Take a pitch fellas. Take a pitch. we’ll get to the wangster soon
Wang is going to throw a gem tonight. Then people will come on this blog tomorrow morning saying that there is still time. What a joke all of you people are.
And of course, a 0-5 pitcher with a 12+ ERA needs only 6 pitches to get 3 outs in the first inning. GJ, Braves.
“And Garret Anderson loafs in and makes an easy catch for out #3.”
-Powell after last out in top of 1st inning, on the radio
Mixxo..our record reflects how well we are playing…especially our current first baseman…,/i>
Another story altogether. But yeah, he’s like good ……and stuff.
June 23rd, 20097:22 pm
Phils busting through offensively in the 1st…and the braves go quitely, very quietly.
Jeez…make the freaking guy pitch! Dangit…
I just heard David Price hasn’t even got an out in the first inning yet…and this guy’s better than Hanson?
welcome to Heath's life story
Got a feeling this blog will be ugly, REAL ugly if wang depletes this offense

June 23rd, 20097:23 pm
Tex doesn’t deserve to get booed…Everybody knew or should have known that we had no chance in blue hell to sign him once he reached free agency…he played well for Atlanta…we just had a lot of injuries and our pitching staff wasn’t the greatest while he was with us…or at least as good as it is now
dont throw it there tommy
Escobar is so annoying with his one pitch one out routines
June 23rd, 20097:24 pm
Chipper needs to be benched.
Nova..very good post….
June 23rd, 20097:25 pm
If he has to work hard Wang will be drained before long …
Nova Scotia Steve
You my friend have no idea why he got booed….It’s not because he didn’t do well it’s just the…well you know….He seemed to bad mouth ATL when he left..that’s why some people don’t like him…I loved him while he was here…now I can’t stand him…..has nothing to do with being a Yankee or leaving us…just don’t like his attitude.
June 23rd, 20097:26 pm
If you are interested you can watch the game at http://www.sticktv.net/ , channel 3
That score out of Tampa Bay is ugly. David Price pitching and has given up 6 runs to the Phils in the 1st already.
NO MORE BOBBY
Just realized who HANSON looks like. Ha Ha!!
Price is in the AL East. That automatically makes him better than Hanson.
June 23rd, 20097:27 pm
Seems all Philly needed to do to get back on track was face the Rays
The_Superhoo (Montana by way of Virginia)
June 23rd, 20097:28 pm
the game is on ESPN tomorrow. not tonight
Did the Bravos seriously get shut down 1,2,3 in the first against Wang?
Wang rose to the occasion but remains to be seen if he has the stamina to last for the whole time …. if not I bet Joe pulls Wang rather quickly, maybe even prematurely
bravos..are you seeing a trend of bath mouthing atl..
June 23rd, 20097:29 pm
We are rooting for idiots. Six pitches. Three outs. Chipper saw three of them. Yunel is a moron.

BMAC is calling too many Fastballs
Drinking on an empty stomach is way more fun then eating first! I’m disappointed
Wang rose to the occasion but remains to be seen if he has the stamina to last for the whole time
it he wants to last the whole game he might need to take a performance enhancer.
Very poor taste to boo Tex. He did what you and anybody else would do. This is a business and money is what they work for. More power to him. Would you stay a Brave for 80 million are be a NNY for 160 million? Thats what I thought…take the money.
June 23rd, 20097:31 pm
From Circling The Bases:
Jeff Francoeur (Braves) – The Braves still might have had a shot at getting a prospect for Francoeur a month ago. Now they’d be lucky just to find someone to take his salary without having to accept a similar contract back. Interestingly, he’s gone from posting a 23/1 K/BB ratio in May to a 6/7 this month, but he’s remained just as useless.
Mcfann..I guess espn was right
Not a very impressive throw there, McCann!
Good K-out. Not a pretty throw though.
McCann needs to mix it up for Hanson here.
Man Why Didn’t Tommy Even Make One Throw To First…?
way to shake him off kid
June 23rd, 20097:32 pm
The Atlanta faithful boo almost every single player that leaves the organization through free agency…I was in attendence when Maddux mad ehis first return to Atlanta and you know what it was 50/50…FOR MADDUX…Same for Glavine…and yes I understand because he was a Met…But it just happened to Tex…Its happened to Sheffield and so on and so forth…its nothing new!!!
You want to see class…look at what the Red Sox fans did for Derek Lowe when he excited the game on Saturday…gave him a standing ovation…classy…very clasy
When it comes down to it, theres not a lot of difference in 80 million and 160 million. Except to your heirs lol.
June 23rd, 20097:33 pm
well said..poorjeff..braves knew when they traded for tex that he had just turned down a contract offer from the rangers
Just noticed that my Comcast channel guide has hthis game listed as New York Mets at Atlanta.
there’s no loyalty in sports anymore. those who jump ship are to be booed. that said, we traded tex. of course, he’s also a yankee, so he SHOULD be booed for that if nothing else haha.
PS not that I believe Tex deserves a standing ovation from the crowd in Atlanta cause I don’t think that’s necessary at all
Pull him Bobby!
When A-Rod came to bat, the organist played “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Kid you not.
… I get high with a little help from my friends
Walk him to face Wang
June 23rd, 20097:34 pm
Powell is a definite Braves fan. I hope we get to listen to him for a long time. Sometimes he really reminds me of Uecker (guess he should after workin with him for so long).
Nice to hear an announcer talk about the Cubs whining about 3 road games in a row in 3 different parks and say “well I would feel sorry, but they’re the Cubs.”
Well played, sir.
HBP and BB? turn it around Big Red!
June 23rd, 20097:35 pm
theyre just not biting on his nasty curve
God ‘Ol Mighty! Why is Hanson nibbling with their crappy hitters?
DOB: HAHA Hilarious!
June 23rd, 20097:36 pm
lets go tommy!!!
Tommy can you hear me…
Get Medlen warmed up, Hanson cant throw strikes.
They cheered Lowe because he helped win their first world series in how long? They cheered for Maddux to my recollection and his last visit here I believe he got a standing ovation from the crowd. Glavine with the Mets was a different story but Braves definately know how to show class.
Superhoo, no you can have a little class like the RED SOX did Lowe. haha
Braves Fan 88
Hanson ain’t getting out of the 5th folks. Hope he makes it to the 5th.
Time to blow away Wang
Thanks for the update on Medlen, DOB. I hope tonight is not the night we have to see him. He might just crap his pants if he has to come out and pitch to the Yankees.
June 23rd, 20097:37 pm
Hanson has not overly impressed me, especially with his control. He’s a rook but still, he went after their big hitter and now nibbles?
Please don’t let Wang go deep
nice play tommy nice play! had nightmares of JJ but he did good
I didn’t know that Prado had played so much 2nd base in the minors…kinda suprised me. He has actually played more at 3rd in the majors then at 2nd (it’s like 58 to 43 or something like that…) and, to me at least, just seems more comfortable there when fielding(I know I’ve said that like 4 times already ). I do like Prado- and I like his versitility a lot.
uuuuhhhhgg close one there
June 23rd, 20097:38 pm
Hanson looks pissed.
Little risky there, barehanding that ball when probably didn’t need to. But he got the out, no damage (except lot of pitches thrown in inning)
Wang having to run. I know little Steinbrenner is stewing right now.
You can usually find a quote or a stat or something that curses the braves for the day. Today it looks to be that Medlen quote
He said he’s looking forward to getting him back in a game and would put him in a close game without hesitation
you aint on my team, i aint your fan
that said, it was nice the sox did that, and that lowe tipped the cap at the start of the game, but i really wish he hadnt done it when he got yanked. you’re losing to them, dont do that crap.
June 23rd, 20097:39 pm
theyre just not biting on his nasty curve – joe
it’s not that good. he looks like a #3/4 starter. tops.
It’s all good Mixxo! No harm done. (Except Hanson’s pitch count, of course).
Wang would fitm in well with the Braves…swings at 1st pitch…after 2 walks and a hit by pitch
If Cox and Wang get ejected will Johnson and ARod be next?
Tommy looked “shook up” after getting out of it. I hope he gets it together before the third.
Take some pitches!
June 23rd, 20097:40 pm
Ill take 5 shutout inning from Tommy. Then let Medlen come in for two. If we have a few runs by then, we win!
He’s a Baseball Wizard…
Hanson at 3.66era
This update has been brought to you by Taco Bell
Just saw Hanson “blow right by” McDowell in the dugout on WWOR.
I really like Cano and Cabrera. I wonder if the Yankees are interested in Vasquez…
June 23rd, 20097:41 pm
Why is JJ telling us what channel Peachtree TV is on? That’s like driving to a friend’s house to ask for their address.
Go ahead B-Mac!
Big MAc knows how to hit! let’s get it rollin
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
