Gonzo/ made 5 rocks one time before the pitch.
Gonzo Is Clowning!!!
Who Is Going To Pitch the Ninth…?
Maybe they are using Blanco as trade bait.
June 23rd, 20099:36 pm
Talk about not hustling! Gonzo strikes out Posada swinging on a ball in the dirt. Ball squirts away from McCann up the first base line. Posada walks back to the dug out, doesn’t even try to jog to first base, much less run. Umpire doesn’t even make McCann throw to first to record the out. Pitiful.
Why don’t we trade Gonzo and Soriano as soon as we can? – (as some of so desperately hope, Mr. Truth).
Have the Tampa Bay Rays come back yet?
O’s come back to tie the Marlins….could jump back into 3rd.
That will be that!
Yeah, the Yanks were killing it in the 8th weren’t they?
Posada the Golden Sombrero
First time poster, long time lurked.
June 23rd, 20099:37 pm
Wow! Gonzo had some nasty stuff out there.
Casey’s defensive numbers are actually even more impressive then that- in 6 seasons (406 games, 3385 chances at 1st) he’s made a grand total of 8 errors. Total. Or 3 less then Chipper has made this year. Dude is a rock with the glove.
Come on Yankees, whip these scurvy Southern redneck dogs!
Gonzo absolutely clowned the Yankees.
Hope Soriano has something left in the tank after last night. Maybe he’ll be thinking “contract year” and put on a show for the yankees.
June 23rd, 20099:38 pm
What Posada Did was a slap in the face to all the people who believe in hustle…
Arrogant, Rich S.O.B. The epitome of the Bankees!
Gonzo mowed down, huh? 2Ks and looked really good.
If the braves spent half the money you guys spend, and they played half the bad yankees have been playing………I would use a paper bag all day long.
Too many millions…………no World Series rings to show for in a long time………enjoy your stay in atlanta………..its gonna feel like a very long one.
Doc Holiday……………If Frank Wren cant get a quality bat in the next 2 weeks, it wont be his fault. It will mean that other teams are simply asking too much and he isnt going to totally mortgage the future for a bat.
Also, you have to remember that he probably cant push the budget much further than it is now.
Still, Frank Wren has shown that he isnt afraid of making a trade. Personally I am very pleased that we have this guy as GM. He has been diligent in working the phones.
As I said a few weeks ago, there is a chance that Frank Wren will win the “Executive of the Year” award if the Braves can at least contend to late in the season. Will any of you back me up on this projection?
Doc Holiday – I think we have all been screaming the same thing for a month. Get these guys just a little help. The pitching is too good and the division too mediocre not to.
I’m Glad that some of my slang is rubbing off on you, lol
June 23rd, 20099:39 pm
Guys we have the pitching to make a run at this f*** thing.
Any chance Bobby brought in a life-sized picture of the Frank Wren in his suit and the Bravos are peelin’ a small piece of the suit off with every win? (or maybe he’s bare, and they’re puttin clothes back on)
Peronally I’d rather them go with the life-sized Rachel Phelps, but whatever float’s these guy’s boat (especially with KJ’s intro).
What is that percentage? It has to be close to 98% or99%.
I am desperately trying to catch up to you…sadly I feel I am failing badly…only on #2 (although I have yet to eat)
Definitely not a memorable night for Posada…0-4, 4Ks.
Me like Braves girls.
Come on ESCO…now hit it out.
For everyone…like doc, paul and others…demanding Wren to trade for more offense, who are we going get and at what price. Face it right now we are a mediocre team. We have great pitching, especially with our bullpen coming around, but the Braves bats are bitterly inconstant. Because we continue to play around .500 ball there is no reason to mortgage our farm system for the possibility that we catch fire. Rather what the Braves should do is bench Frenchy and Kelly and see what happens when Prado and Diaz play everyday. We have a talented farm system, that has the potential to make the braves very good for the future. I do not want a GM nearsighted for the hope just to make the playoffs. Granted the Tex trade doesnt look quite so bad now bc many of the pieces are struggling, but we dont need a rental or half plus one. Also people calling to trade Soriano or Gonzo for a bat are ludicrous. If we are struggling to win with a great end of the game bullpen what happens when we dont have them?
June 23rd, 20099:40 pm
I said that because Tommy Hanson didn’t do Mac any favors by not holding the runners on (none of the Braves starters do)- It doesn’t matter how great the throw is if the runner is half way to 2nd before Mac gets the ball… (CBF)
one of the raps on Tommy has always been that he is very slow to the plate. I was hoping they had corrected that in AAA. looks like they didn’t, at least not all the way.
Yunel screamed at the thought of getting hit.
June 23rd, 20099:41 pm
I’ve been saying clowned for a long time, Tomahawkin lol..I have a teenage son, I know all the words.
99.8% Doesn’t get much better- and to think the guy’s never won a Gold Glove…
June 23rd, 20099:42 pm
Slugger, funny stuff! Hey bartender, Jobu needs a refill!
I wonder if Chipper is feeling a little weak from the left side. He is using the black lighter bat that he usually uses when he hits right handed.
You’ll laugh, but he hasn’t won a GG because he is not an offensive juggernaut. sp?
June 23rd, 20099:43 pm
I don’t know who is warming up but I would bring in O’Flaherty.
This is gonna get me killed here, and let me say first this isn’t an anti-Hanson post. And you certainly can’t argue with his results so far. But I’ve got to say, to this point, I don’t really see much difference between Hanson’s stuff and Jurrjen’s. (Not that that is a bad thing at all). From everything I heard, this guy had Smoltzian stuff. Well, I definitely haven’t seen the consistent bite on the slider. But what I’m really confused about is the fastball. I’m seeing 93, maybe an occasional 95. Again, very Jurrjen’s-like. And to again compare it to Smoltz- even when Smoltz was hurting, his fastball was usually 95-97 consistently. But as DOB reminded one of our Hanson-haters earlier, I’m no scout either. Anybody else agree with me, or am I way off?
cabravesfan – I won’t get any further ahead, so all you can do is catch up. I have reached a pleasant level that can only be improved by a successful 9th inning WOW – BMAC!!!!!!
June 23rd, 20099:44 pm
Yeahhh There We Go B-Macc!!!! Hell Yeah!!!
yeah dinger for brian
It’s not just Tommy though. JJ is terrible at holding on runners, and I don’t think D Lowe & that sinker are much better. Javy is maybe a little bit better then the others, and I really haven’t noticed how KK holds runners on but overall it is not (nor has it really been in the last decade or so…) something the Braves do well
And as I type Mac goes YARD!!! Whoo Hoo!!!
Mac dinks one over the RF wall for an insurance run.
BMAC baby, just like when he played against us and hit our highschool!
Mcfann…how many times have you voted for McCann for the allstar game
looks like Soriano can have a night off after all, well assuming they give it to hime!!
“Not many catchers hit better than him.”
Don’t think we’ll see anyone but Soriano here.
June 23rd, 20099:45 pm
Well, I guess not that far. Joe’s call made that one seem longer than it was.
NO MORE BOBBY
Ladies and gentlemen…. Mac is our team captain.
Loving this tonight!! Hate Yankee fans!!
i’m watching the Yankees feed of this game and all the y are doing is complaining how big the TED is… then B Mac goes yard! Go spend another 250 million losers!
Great job McCann!!
Come on Anderson, back to back buddy
ATLiens…………….I have been advocating the very thing you suggested as far as benching Francoeur and putting Matt Diaz in right field. I also stated that play Prado more at second, until Infante comes back would help the offense.
However, I got shot down for saying that. Many of posters on here said “why bench Francoeur? Diaz isnt much of an improvement”.
A LITTLE improvement (Matt Diaz) is much better than NO improvement (Francoeur).
Who was that MORON who earlier asked “why is McCann popping up so much”, lol.
In the 3rd, McCann “popped up” off the left field wall for a double. Now he “pops up” for a home run. lol.
That has to be the MORONIC posting of the night.
nolie, that hitch in his take-back, right? Maybe he’ll be a little more fluid when he gets his man-growth.
June 23rd, 20099:46 pm
Out here in the fields
I fought for my meals
I get my my back into my livin’
I don’t need to fight
To prove I’m right
I don’t need to be forgiven
No save now for Soriano – maybe we should bring in Bennett instead (HA HA HA).
Brewdawg…there will never be another Smoltz
Ah! THat was a beaut!! Woulda been on here sooner, but I was watching the replays.
Yes you will! (Thanks.)
Um…somewhere around 250, I think…I lost count…
Kotch definitely deserves a gold glove.
June 23rd, 20099:47 pm
Tommy Hanson maybe this team’s savior so far, Now If we can get another Bat…!
McCann plays 1B everyday, he’s another Pujols.
I know, I did laugh, and that is just so not right There might not be a better defensive player in the majors, but because he does’t hit home runs he isn’t worthy of a “defensive” award…go figure!
Unlike some, I actually have to work tomorrow so I gotta stop at some point
That’s hilarious, Mike lump. Ha.
Soriano is already warmed up. If the Bobby were to sit him, it would be like already using him anyway. Might as well throw him out there and shut these guys down.
rob from sc
If I were Frank Wren I would demand that Bobby Cox play Prado and Diaz inplace of Johnson and Francoeur for 10 straight games and see if our run output increases. We might not need a big bat as much as we need to get rid of dead weight. Just a thought.
Paul L. That has to be the MORONIC posting of the night.
June 23rd, 20099:48 pm
Come On Raffy!!!
June 23rd, 20099:49 pm
Is anyone going to complain about Bobby bringing in Soriano in a non-save situation?
Moylan was doing his best “playing Wii” impression after he got Jeter to GIDP.
Wow…who will we have in the late innings tomorrow if necessary?
By the way, tonight McCann is 3-4 with 1 double and 1 homer. Francoeur, in 64 at-bats in June, has 1 homer and 2 doubles.
June 23rd, 20099:50 pm
Joe is actively cursing the Braves getting a shut-out.
RHR did you say MIKE LUM? he was a pretty fair player.
I wonder if Soriano will make the allstar team
Yes Darkness With The K!!!
Paul Lentz –
Way to put Jeff’s struggles in perspective.
June 23rd, 20099:51 pm
We really have both the starting pitching and back end of the bullpen to make a run at the World Series. We need 1 bat and to improve our defense.
Cards just scored 2 more. Up 3-0 on Mets bottom of the 7th. Not sure if they scored them on Livian, last I checked he was at 107 pitches going into the 7th and his pitches were going all over the place if the gameday thingie was accurate.
cabravesfan – that’s okay – but as long as you can stay out and play for a while, you’ll still go to bed at least three hours before me (and I’m torn between what my body and what my mind want to do right now).
Now Chip is cursing the hitless streak by Braves pitching.
The NY announcers also asked if Mike G would stay in to pitch to gardner before they bring in soriano… the american league is a joke!
all the y are doing is complaining how big the TED is
After playing all those games in that piece of [expletive deleted] they call a park, I can understand! They aren’t used to playing in a big league park- you have to earn your home runs here. Pop ups actually get caught. By the outfielders. In the field of play. Get over it yankees. Maybe if they hadn’t destroyed the best park in the league you’d understand that.
June 23rd, 20099:52 pm
McFann :Ô:………….that was YOU who said the thing about McCann “popping up” all the time, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least you was man enough to admit it. I respect that.
If I were Frank Wren I would demand that Bobby Cox play Prado and Diaz inplace of Johnson and Francoeur for 10 straight games
All that would do is allow Wren to demand the same thing of a new interim manager. Right after the clubhouse fragmented, the whole concept of “manager” were undermined, and the rest of the coaching staff started looking for reasons not to come to the park.
Other than that, excellent tip.
Bill..acosta..bennett..medlen are well rested
McFann – Every post has been moronic tonight.
June 23rd, 20099:53 pm
i agree paul some improvement is better than none. where i get frustrated with the everyone is that they are so hot on Wren to make a move, it seems they dont even care who they give up. but the second the trade is made people bitch about what was given up. People want cake and to eat it too. It just doenst work that way. Because the Braves have been inconsistent the best move would be to use the players we have differently. That includes changing the roles of bennett, medlen, and others.
I wish the Single A all star game was on TV. Johnson and Heyward are starting
June 23rd, 20099:54 pm
It’s still today- drink more And since I don’t have to work on Friday, I can stay and play way later on Thurday night…you’ll just have to wait another day
Soriano has the meanest mug this side of Chuck Norris.
rob from sc………..again, I totally agree with you about benching Francoeur and Johnson and playing Diaz and Prado (although I said for two straight weeks instead of 10 days like you suggest).
Regardless, I’m with you. Maybe Bobby will wake up one day and bench those 2 guys.
Bobby Cox sure isn’t going to bench either one on his own.
June 23rd, 20099:55 pm
