Thats not even close to being accurate…
Francoeur is still hitting lazy flys and weak grounders and Kelly has had 1 meaningful hit in the past 2 weeks…
Maybe you also thought Corky Miller was an outstanding talent…
Oh, and also, its in fact NOT early in the season…its almost July and almost the All-Star break already…
Why swing at that Mac? Jeez.
uhg….retarded……… damn mcann
June 23rd, 20098:51 pm
Rob from SC -then you are special. There are many people who would take a job for $100 more, not to mention tens of millions. Good for you.
He lives in Texas….so the whole crap about it being easier on his family doesn’t sale me.
I mean it’s just as easy to get a flight and apartment or house in California/Atlanta….
We should have more than 3 runs by now. Wang has an ERA over 11.
that should be sell…not sale…lol
cabravesfan, you’ve never heard the definition of a yankee?
I don’t see being unprepared for the beginning of each and every season as the hallmark of a “consummate professional.”
Miller is throwing a 1 hitter in FLA but is tied 1-1 with Baltimore. Florida has 9 hits to Baltimore’s 1.
Marlins do have the bases juiced though in the 7th. 1 out….
June 23rd, 20098:52 pm
Can someone school me on the “Heap” nickname?
Is there a reason why Chipper is using his black bat left handed…he normally uses the lighter colored one left handed.
ptown..i guess you don’t understand sarcasm
That’s interesting- according to all the stories out here, he died on the sidewalk outside the club…ehh, who knows? (although your sister probably is the most trustworthy source, seeing as how she worked at the hotel and all )
rob from sc
I couldn’t spend 100 million, why would I need 160 million. That is being greedy
Cannot belive BMac swung at that pitch! He’s obsessed with first-pitch popups all of the sudden! Arg!
June 23rd, 20098:53 pm
They compared how many homeruns the Braves have hit vs. the Yankees and the only thing I could think was are you serious. We would probably have 3 times more home runs right now if our home field played like the new Yankee Stadium.
June 23rd, 20098:54 pm
Chipper caught something
he lives in Texas but he’s from Maryland (the question was where he was from…)
I’ve heard quite a few, just never “Yankwad”
nice play by chipper.
Tex was offered 80 million by Braves and 160 million plus from NNY. Some of you keep doing the Obama math. The man did what everyone of you would have done. get over it.
chipper catches one for once tonight
JJ (WTH is Jeff Bennett still on the roster???)
Well, heck. If you hit it right at em he’ll catch it. Self defense baby!!

“He’s obsessed with first-pitch popups all of the sudden! Arg!”
I’m no doctor, but sounds like a Frenchy like flu has spread AArg!
June 23rd, 20098:55 pm
Escobar has two hits plus several good base running plays tonight; in the field he is very good, in fact too good for Chipper who can not believe he stopped a ball and could have gotten a runner (oops, larry dropped that one. Meanwhile, KJ has been the new Loaf. If only he could hit as well as the real Loaf.
Anybody else hoping that Cox comes out to argue a Wang to Johnson pitch?
Shamus, if I remember Tex played a reasonable amount of the spring games for us. Some players take a longer time to groove their swing. I never saw Tex jake it, in spring or the regular season.
Jake..I guess you have the same scouting report on our players (bvraves) that frank wren has…thinking all of our position players will hit 20 homers
get up the pen
June 23rd, 20098:56 pm
Another heads up – you spelled Canadian wrong
And Chipper caught that one. Good reflex, or as Yank announcer said, “Right place at right time”
June 23rd, 20098:57 pm
Damn, I just noticed that the next game I get to see the Braves play in high definition (Even though I have the MLB Extra Innings Package on Direct TV, I prefer to see the game with the Braves announcers). The next 3 games are on PeachtreeTV, which doesnt have a high definition channel option on Direct TV. The Saturday afternoon game is on Fox (I live in San Francisco and they are going to show the Cubs-White Sox game).
However Sunday’s game will be televised on FoxSportsSouth in high definition.
Are you guys who live in Atlanta able to view PeachTree TV in high definition?
If Chip says “slow the game down” one more time I am going to scream!
June 23rd, 20098:58 pm
Tex concentrates on his lift’n n’ stretchin’ during ST….remember?
June 23rd, 20098:59 pm
here in augusta, ga it’s in hd
but my dad in greenville, sc gets peachtree but not in hd
Rob from Sc – then you have no idea what it’s like to determine your true worth, so you have no standing in this discussion. If the Braves could have offered something close, then fine, but we traded him because we could never have come close to his market value, especially with Scott Boras as his agent. It is absurd to blame him – that doesn’t mean you have to like him, but I knew when we got him in the trade that there was virtually no chance we could offer him enough money to keep him here.
Gardner with speed
McFann :Ô:…………………do you mean that “pop-up” that McCann hit off the wall for a double in the 3rd inning?
June 23rd, 20099:00 pm
Might be tiring…
Yet another bouncer by McCann.
dont walk matsui
They are running like crazy on Hanson and BMac.
Deep breaths…happy thoughts
June 23rd, 20099:01 pm
Man looks like he is tired
A perfect throw and he’s still safe
here comes jeff bennett…..hahaha…..the phils and marlins both winning big
Fear……………that is why I hate seeing that a game is being televised on PeachtreeTV. I hate seeing a game on regular t.v instead of high def. That is why I prefer to see FoxSportsSouth televise the games.
Sttanding ovation for Hanson leaving game, tips his cap to the crowd
come on Hanson..hang in there..oh well, here comes bobby
He pitched well
June 23rd, 20099:02 pm
I just checked the 2008 spring stats. Tex played in 15 games; our team leaders played in 19.
Hanson pitched well tonight. Once he quits walking people he will awesome.
I’m Gonna Lose It If the Blow-pen Blows this One…
But you can’t walk 5 Bankee hitters, That’s begging for Trouble
How cool would that be if Hanson and Medlen combine to shutout the Yanks?
Come on Pete! Get ‘em baby! 6-4-3!!!
June 23rd, 20099:03 pm
Cabravesfan — Did the ball bounce twice tonight on McCann’s piss-poor throws?
That wasn’t a popup and it was the second pitch.
Great Job !! The kid did great against the best. I like that kid.
Don’t know what you’re getting at but my point was you have to take into consideration that the new Yankee stadium will yield homeruns to players that would be easy flyouts here. Chipper and Brian McCann would each be approaching 20 homeruns by now if they played in that stadium half the time. Sometime its not the players. Its the stadium.
We still have the momentum. Can’t let them back into this. Tommy still too young. A year from now he might be in the 8th inning already. One hopes.
We need some serious bullpen action tonight.
cabravesfan, yankWAD only refers to the definition I was intimating. The actual definition is too obscene for the august company present here.
June 23rd, 20099:04 pm
Welcome to my life Tattoo
I’m a man now, thanks to you
I expect I’ll regret you, but the skin graft man won’t get you
You’ll be there when I die,
what does that even mean?
Omg. Moylan. Mr. Inconsistent. Please prove my skepticism wrong.
Come On Petey-Pabb!!!
I was wondering the same thing.
works for me
June 23rd, 20099:05 pm
that was a beauty pitch from peter
Off Topic, I have a great amount of respect for Joey Votto. He took the time to explain that severe depression was the reason he missed the past month. Depression is a serious disease and hopefully with a star athlete bringing it to the public, it will help more people understand how serious depression can be.
BRAVO, Braves! Woo!
Hell yeah! Turn that DP!
That you Lord!
Ask and you shall receive, lol. Thanks for proving me wrong Moylan, lol.
June 23rd, 20099:06 pm
There We Go Petey-Pabb!!!
But Man I get Nervous watching this Defense during crucial moments!
Paul Lentz – see, Moylan is improving!
HELL YEAH LETS GO
i cant take it anymore
nice fist pump by moylan. HUGE double play
Great job by Peter Moylan to get the mighty Derek Jeter to ground weakly into an easy double play to erase any chance that Tommy Hanson might give up an earned run.
for those moylan bashers…he’s been heating it up recently. he’s comin around
Did you see KJ turn the DP? Awesome!
Nice work Peter. And somehow Yunel and Kelly didn’t blow it. You never know.
Old man Jeter still’s got some speed.
Let me see. Tex has Boras for an agent and he gets the big bucks to play for the Yankees. Big bucks that Atlanta couldn’t come with if their lives depended on it. When Tex was here, he played in 157 games and we won how many games? How many games outta first place were we in 2007 and 2008? Why on God’s green earth would Tex wanna play here instead of for a contender? You sumbitches beat all. You also talk sh!t about Chipper and his defense. You oughta understand that without him in that lineup, we are severely limited offensively. Hell, we are limited with him in there. Without him, we flat out reek.
June 23rd, 20099:07 pm
I ask…I receive!!!
Moylan has pitched well in relief of Hanson
Rob from SC–
To All the Bandwagon Yankees Fans that are on their feet in Attendance at Tooner Field
“Hoe Sit Down!”
right on Paul.
Thank you Moylan, and thanks Bobby for not letting it fall apart. (That works with non-rookies, too, ya know…)
Moylan is returning to form it seems
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
