McLouth of the South............200 homers out of 6000 plate appearances for a good home run hitting team averages out to 1 homer for every 30 at-bats for the team. Francoeur has hit 4 homers in 253 at bats this season. That averages out to be 1 homer for every 63 at-bats. Now that is more than twice as many at-bats as the "average" for a good home run hitting team. MORE THAN TWICE. Now what does that say about Francoeur?

Chop Chop-

Don't bother- I've also given him the Cot's contracts, which he has decided to ignore for whatever reason, and Francoeur is not the only name he seems hell-bent on misspelling. Don't waste your time :)

Tomahawkin,

Good point at 1:55. Living in Philly and attending Phillies games whenever they play the Braves or whenever I feel like putting up with their ignorant fans, I've realized they appeal to my age group (20-30 year olds) quite well. Tailgating is quite popular around these parts for Phillies games, and they cater to the college/young professional crowd as well as the family crowd. Never been to the Ted, but I could understand what you mean by appealing to certain crowds, and the Phillies do well with the atmosphere in and out of the stadium. Different way of following sports up here is what I presume. Intense fans who are pretty irrational and stupid for the most part, but dedicated to attending games nonetheless. That can be a whole other argument. I digress living up North my entire life, not really understanding the way of life down south with ya'll.

Steve from OH,

I have two issues with Paul:

1) I gave him the Cot's Baseball Contracts figures for Tim Hudson's salary in '09 and '10. He said that I was correct, but he then proceeded to use the ESPN.com numbers again in a succeeding post.

2) He has used, at various times, three spellings of Francoeur (Franceour, Francoeur, Francouer) for entire posts.

It is possible that I am setting the bar too high for someone who claims to educate himself so as to be well-informed about baseball. If this is so, then the fault is most assuredly mine.

If not, he's a ****ing ****.

If he's the figment of someone's imagination (more enjoyable than any of the other possible scenarios), then I tip my cap.
