I agree but not every player on your team needs to have power. Andrus could lead off. Bat .300, have an OBP of .360 and steal 40 bases. THere is nothing wrong with that. I still think Feliz might end up in the bullpen. Right now he is more of a thrower. In AAA he has given up 1 hit per inning. Compare that to what top pitchers like Tommy Hanson and Chris Tillman. Need to see Feliz develop a more big league breaking ball and changeup before I worry about trading him.

I understand yopur point though. I am just a big believer in Andrus. Gut feeling.

Thanks Chop Chop.

A 2-0 game going into the 8th…that is exactly the situation you use gonzo/soriano. I don’t have a problem with the pitching choices here. I just didn’t understand bringing those guys out in 8-2 ballgames when Acosta is not getting any work.

There is one big difference. We are not trading trading Hanson or Heyward. We gave up our # 1 and 2 plus 2 others in the top 10 for Tex. Frank Wren know not to trade his future stars.

PS They better not trad Freddie Freeman either.

Now that’s what I’m talking about. Runners on 1st and 3rd, 1 out. Chipper got good wood on a pitch that was supposed to be DRIVEN. Chipper hit it to the wrong part of the park, however at least it got the job done by McLouth tagging up and scoring.

Francouer would have hit into a double play.

Well, this is what has to be done to start the series coming up which is to get some momentum by winning the first one. Soriano needs to hold this one down. It was all about clutch pitching tonight. Vazquez should be an All-Star but watch, he won’t.

Wait are there people on here who are finally admitting that Blanco sucks? I mean, really, he wasn’t even doing good in AAA when he was called up. Should have kept Canizares and sent Blanco down. As for Diory, he isn’t exactly ready for the majors yet. Wren was sort of forced to keep him up when Infante was injured. He’ll continue to develop into a good utility man once Infante comes back and he goes back to Gwinnett.

Paul Lentz –
I agree with you, that he is still a far far cry from the guy who was consistently hitting the wall with those rocket doubles a few years back, but comparably, he looks less lost of late. I haven’t seen that lolli-pop undercut swing he uses to bounce the ball to second base quite as much. Don’t get me wrong–I’d still rather have just about anyone playing RF right now, but given that his trade value is nil, it’d be such a blessing to at least see him become less of a casualty night after night.

yeah, I know calling up Blanco was about sending Schafer down. He needed to go, no question there. But Blanco is nothing more than a crappy pinch hitter. He occasionally gets the start over Frenchy, but I would rather have Jeff in the lineup over Blanco. If we need a PH, I believe Canizares would be better. It would atleast give Barbaro some potential trade value if he proves he can hit MLB pitching. Blanco isn’t going to have any value.
