javy is the best damn pitcher in baseball
LOAF Did it again!
Yeah There We Go Loaf!!!
Lets Do This!!!
Loaf, remember that You are an Old ass man, do not try to round second too fast!
ok, i’m told that means kelly has cramps in both legs…..told ya this heat was a little different than what they’ve been dealing with on the trip.CR
That answers my question. It was Carroll that said to drink the water…Should’ve known it was the runner…
I repent in sackcloth and ashes for ever thinking that the braves should trade Javy Vazquez… best pitcher on the team…
Hit one out Casey.
rob from sc
June 22nd, 20099:06 pm
I know but he is only 20 years old. He has plenty f time for his bat to develop. He hasn’t even gotten his man strength. He is still a kid.
Rob, I just saw your post. I was thinking Vizquel too, obviously, and your point is well-taken. He COULD develop, just as we thought Frenchy COULD develop. There’s a long way to go. Generally speaking, you’re right. I wouldn’t have dealt him without having a long-term deal in place for Tex.
Now, McLouth, THAT’S a nice deal.
GA heating up…good sign for the Bravos for the remainder of the season
Pinch run for Anderson
It’s awesome seeing Vasquez pitch his guts out for us….
OK Carroll you need a nickname.
CRo (Cee Ro) CaRo (K Ro) or do you just prefer Carroll?
GA doin’ his thang. Takes a while to get him going apparently, but dude hits well.
June 22nd, 20099:07 pm
Krotch what the hell are you doing?? Bunt the freakin Ball dumbass
“Andrus is a light hitting good fielding shortstop. Nothing more.”
People used to say the same thing about me. I seemed to help bring stability to the Cards infield defense, and oddly enough, many players came and went, while I stayed.
I don’t ever recall being benched and always gave my all. Can you say that about Yunel?
C’mon Dempster, just completely freakin lose it.
McLouth of the South
Are there two slower pro athletes than CK and GA?
hope braves are only one to win in the east
Im relatively new here….why is GA called LOAF?
That Was 2003…I have some of the games on tape…That whole series was a Blow Buck Lovefest over Mark Prior and Kerry Wood
That series made me hate Bandwagon cubs fans forever!
Loved the McLouth deal. I expect Morton to be a really good pitcher. I just hate that we gave Andrus away when he has great makeup.. We seem to be missing character in the clubhouse.
Andrus is a team leader at 20 for the Rangers.
June 22nd, 20099:08 pm
Wow. CK beat out a DP. Go figure.
Nice going with the pitch Garrett. 2 for 3 tonight, 1 double, average up to .287. Dude started off slow (was injured for most of spring training), however now that he has adjusted to the National League, he is starting to show that he can hit, which he did during his 14 years with the Angels.
Making adjustments is the name of the game, something Jeff Francoeur has failed to do.
Casey with the wheels tonight!
Paul..I don’t trust the bull-pen, do you?
I do not believe that DOB is from Atlanta I think he is from somewhere down in Florida. Most people in the cities in the south don’t have southern accents. And if they do it’s slight not like you see on TV where they are speaking as if it’s Gone with the Wind or something.
And speaking of hot weather it was 105 here in Alabama a couple of days ago with the heat index at 112. It was insanely hot.
And one last thought, the people that live in Atlanta and are Braves fans get out to the ballpark this stupid Lets Go Cubs chant is an embarrassment.
I’LL be Damned, cmon Bobby you hardheaded sonofabitch!!Learn how to BUNT
McL of S – Johnny Estrada and Adam LaRoche?
Could slow ass Anderson beat Kotchman in a race. I bet McCann could beat both of them
Joe…just said Frenchy had a new ab song……he’s had that song for about 2 months now
June 22nd, 20099:09 pm
Again, Many prospects dont live up to there name, and some do.
Watch Loaf Play defense hence why we call him that name…! Especially yesterday…
RHR Started that nickname I believe…
I was so pissed after losing six to these low lifes last year that I looked up our record against them going back to ‘91. From ‘91 to ‘07 we were 91 and 55.
So that would make it 92 and 62 after last year and this year. Respec’, as Ali G would say.
Holy sh… did Casey beat that out?
Johnny Reb… No one will ever be slower than Sid Bream.
Perhaps this will be enough to shut the unfair criticism against GA?
Now if Francoeur could only drive the ball
WTH is going on today. Francoeur? AGAIN?
Frenchy is coming around..still early in the season..
Francoeur did it again? YAY!
June 22nd, 20099:10 pm
Wow. Nice piece of hitting by Frenchy!
Boog And Joe Simpson
Francine Is a Singles Hitter…! Nothing else!
Stop Kissing his A..s!!!
rookie kills rally
Francoeur just fouled that 0-1 pitch off, a curve that was in his eyes. Next pitch, he just sticks his bat out there and got lucky for that single. The pitch before that was supposed to be CRUSHED.
Meanwhile, double play by Hernandez.
Blanco you need to run faster!
Do we lead the majors in GBDP hit into
June 22nd, 20099:11 pm
Great. Jeff has two hits. He’ll have an extension signed by Thursday.
On a side note, anybody out there think that Glavine should be the next president of the players union? I think that job was MADE for him. Had the Braves activated him, he wouldn’t really be available. Now he is.
It must be fate.
Schuerholz loves giving away prospects (Rob)
I don’t agree with that statement at all Rob, guess let’s just agree to disagree, ok?
Let’s get this team some runs. poor Javy, loyt pressure. The guy probably can’t remember what a few runs are like. 8(
Diory says, “OH YEAH, HERE’S YOUR FU**** RALLY!!!” What a waste of roster space!
What is that like twenty guys left on base?
We just need one more inning out of Javy or Pete and then Gonzo and Soriano.
More runs would be nice also at some point.
When Anderson decides to put in an effort in LF, then we will get off his back
If Cox bunts Kotchman we score
Y’know, I don’t care what anyone here says, that was some good hitting by Francoeur right there.
the braves patented double play!
Was that Blanco? I thought I heard his name.
Kotch bunting LOAF over…. do you really think that wouldn’t have been and easy DP? Even now we just hit into one but for real?
I am just aching. Can’t this team score any G– D— runs?!?!
Ain’t this the pitts! ! ! ! !
June 22nd, 20099:12 pm
Jeff just threw his bat at that one. Boog said, Jeff was coming around. It would be nice.
Where is Escobar???????????
Guys, I cannot believe I am about to say this, but Jeff Franceour is starting to look…almost… decent. Perhaps it’s the swirling trade whispers causing him some urgency, but in the past couple weeks, his usual lumbering stroke has looked more authoritative. Am I wrong?
I just laugh when I hear Boog and Simpson talk about how well “Francoeur is swinging the bat”. Dude is getting pitches that he should DRIVE and is only hitting them up the middle or fouling them off. That is what is frustrating. If Chipper or McCann had a couple of hacks at some of the pitches that Francoeur has seen tonight, the Braves would be up by 4 or 5 runs.
Molina may have hurt a leg in the Mets-Cardinals game trying to run out a grounder at first.
June 22nd, 20099:13 pm
Steve from OH – “And as far as I’m concerned, both Andrus and Feliz still have a lot to prove.”
Agreed. Both have some big boy tools but who’s to say how they develop.
Javy still in.
“If Cox bunts Kotchman we score”
Even with Jeff’s hit, Loaf would have been thrown out by a mile
Nova Scotia Steve
So I wonder who’s gunna blow this one for Javier tonight?
JV needs a seven pitch inning.
Bobby Cox doesn’t know what a bunt is
Keep talking Paul Lentz. Meanwhile, the rest of us will root for someone who is by all accounts a quality guy.
Do you think someone on the blog had a 6′ 5″ boyfriend with a big nose and a five o’clock shadow they just broke up with?
June 22nd, 20099:14 pm
Javy going back out here, thats a sign of a competitor
Paul, you puke, there were two strikes and he was protecting the plate.
You’re a moron.
Escobar has a hip problem
Javy AND Dempster both still in. Lou must not trust his bullpen either to keep the Braves ahead by only 1
Braves fan since '66
The half/partial team is back on the field…great pitching and just about zero hitting. Maybe JV can keep the Cubs from getting a run and the half team will win. How hard can it be to find a SS, RF and/or LF who can hit?
Another stellar backing the Offense has done for Mr. Vazquez.
Come on Javy.
June 22nd, 20099:15 pm
Man, I miss Omar Infante!
Diory would not be there if Omar were here!
I could claim reverse psychology on my last post, but the truth is that I thought the Cubs would score there. I hate to say it but I watch each close game with an underlying sense of dread.
On the black. Cmon, Javy!!
Tell us one more time how Jeff should have hit that one out….
Johnny Reb – because he’s slow. He loafs around.
I’m watching the game tracker. My family has the TV tied up watching the college world series… im in LA
At least Frenchy is getting on….. but with our 2, 4, 6 and 8 guys going 0′fer, it’s hard to get any runs across
It’s a shame that Francoeur isn’t hitting cleanup tonight, but who knew, right?
June 22nd, 20099:16 pm
Omar at 2nd Escobar at ss that is awesome
Andrus has a better OBP and SLG average than our right fielder and our second baseman
Javy’s not getting those close calls dammit.
nice play Prado
I think Bobby is gonna have to pry the ball away from Vasquez tonight. I don’ think Javy lets anyone screw this up for him tonight. He’s like a man on a mission.
Gotta love Marteeeeeeeen.
Kelly would’ve made that play better.
Nice play by Prado at second to get the second out of the 7th.
Good offense would = three of our pitchers in St. Louis easy. Javy, Derek, and JJ. Instead we are only going to get BMAC. That’s the season for you in a nutshell.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
