( about the base running comment)
Epinephrine………….with that double in the 4th by Francoeur, I think I will start my “Francoeur for MVP” petition. After all, he has “turned the corner”, right?
Holy curd…for once I’m glad our TV was on another channel…
Did somebody say blood?

I think They Don’t Bring the Padding All the way down because it may hold in moisture and attract Mold when the Weather is like this…But Then Again there is Mold Preventer for that
June 22nd, 20098:31 pm
i’m reading off the Braves notes that plenty of good seats remain for the Red Sox and Yankees series…..wow.
McFann, not like BLOOD, his arm was just skinned a little bit.
June 22nd, 20098:32 pm
emo…………not even close
He’s fine…he’s tough (he scraped his arm up a bit, banged his knee…no worries! )
I think Vazquez could hit a gnat in the ass from 60 feet.
How about we trade our best hitting ourfielder? Think about it.
Who is a Bigger Bust I’d Take him over Kazuo Matsui…!
Steve from OH
Did anyone see Kotchy come rushing in when Mac hit the wall? “I’ll saaave you, man!”
Let’s hope B-Mac is alright!
Javy pitching another solid game.
Braves offense stinking it once again.
Diory Hernandez…TAKE the fraking bat off your lazy a&& shoulders.
The Pitcher is on Deck, you have 2 men on base with 2 outs…use your head. They are not going to give you a 3-2 fastball down the middle. I called that off-speed pitch from work!
Man Braves are in a world of hurt without Yunel, or Omar playing SS.
June 22nd, 20098:33 pm
Huh, I seem to recall a time when Diory was the next big thing to lead off for us. Boy, the times are a’changin, huh?
June 22nd, 20098:34 pm
That is sound reasoning Steve…common sense is what i love. Sounds fair to me.
rob from sc
Vazquez is pretty damn good
Carroll…you’re surprised? When the best thing to happen to the Braves is a 6-game losing streak by the Phils…and the Braves basically don’t gain any ground… not hard to figure out that people don’t want to waste their hard-earned money on the product that is currently on the field.
Nice work there Javy.
Pennski…………….so what you are saying is that Braves fans should be content with Francoeur being a .250 singles hitter who only occasionally gets an extra base hit? Garrett Anderson has shown in the past few weeks that he can in fact turn on a pitch. Why cant Francoeur do it.
Well At least the crowd is into it tonight!!! Even If it is Wrigley Field South the crowd is into the game unlike most nights
Nice Pitching JV!!!
Way to get out of it, Javy! Keep rollin’.
June 22nd, 20098:35 pm
LET’S GET SOME RUNS BRAVES!!!
We can put this one away. For the love of God get Javy some runs.
Excellent work by Javy in the 5th. Man the guy is fun to watch. Throws 4 pitches with good command for strikes.
Stan Kasten, come on now…you know you need another SP for the Nats. Make the Deal Wren. Javy and Moyland for Dunn, and bench Jeff or demote him to AAA.
Back atcha, Bobby’s. Even though we don’t see eye to eye on the issue, you have supported you position very well. That’s what I come to the blog for.
June 22nd, 20098:36 pm
You know, Vazquez is our best trade piece from our longest suit and we do need a big bat in the worst way, but I don’t want to give him up.
Dude is DEALIN’.
Thanks…yeah, he’s a toughy!
Just realized I said “curd”, not “crud”…I wasn’t quite put together when I typed that…
June 22nd, 20098:37 pm
Nobody should want to support a crap product, no matter who they play, good seats doesn’t surprise me
Javy’s win-loss record wouldn’t indicate it…but…really look at his numbers… If he keeps this up, isn’t HE worthy of All-Star consideration? On a team that provides him some run support…I would say he would get some consideration.
Bobby’s and Steve, good discussion about Kelly. Had so many hopes for him.. sigh.. I think he should seriously consider honing his skills in the outfield in the winter, and he could become a left handed version of Derosa. He is athletic enough that his outfield defense will be league average. Like you guys said, I would hate the Braves to sell low on him, and I hope the Braves hang on to him one more year.
June 22nd, 20098:38 pm
Offense Sucks Once again…
It should at least be 3-0…
McLouth of the South
I wonder what Dense Paul Lentz would have done with that fastball?
Carroll Rogers – I know I will be down there tomorrow with the Braves gear on and giving the Yankee fans that come in a bit of Southern Hospitality – OLD SCHOOL Style – GO HOME YANKEES! You ain’t welcome here! LOL
June 22nd, 20098:39 pm
McFann, I liked “Holy curd.” Just told my wife I’d found a new saying, in fact.
Not at all Paul,, but good fans support the player when they do something right unlike you. I’m every bit as critical of Jeff as you, but when he does something right the sarcasm that you display makes you sound like a met or yankee fan.
good job johnson
June 22nd, 20098:40 pm
Come on Chipper! Hit one out.
Nice patience tonight from KJ.
i like the patient Kelly
Kelly has looked more patient at the plate lately. I hope he gets back to his old ways, even if it means he strikes out more, as he’ll draw more walks to go along with it.
“Nobody should want to support a crap product, no matter who they play, good seats doesn’t surprise me”
I think most people would rather watch the Gwinnett Braves at a fraction of the cost
Way to work that Base-on-Balls KJ
Hoss Come On, 2 Run Homer Rite Now!
McL of the S, the funny thing is, I signed in as him earlier and made some subtle references to his sexuality and San Francisco, etc, and he missed it….
Chipper! And way to hustle!
Bobby Cox Hat Tipping Club
“i’m reading off the Braves notes that plenty of good seats remain for the Red Sox and Yankees series…..wow.”
Carroll, being a Braves fan who doesn’t live in the metro area, I’m unable to attend more than about half a dozen Braves games a year. I’m about 3 hours away.
When I found that the Braves were playing the Red Sox AND Yankees at home this year, I was going to buy tickets for at least a game in each series……UNTIL…… The Braves started their “hold the gun to the fans head” tactics in April of saying if you didn’t buy a package, you couldn’t get tickets!
Well guess what. I wasn’t going to be held hostage and decided that under no circumstances would I pay to see either series.
I suppose there are other fans who felt the same way I did. No offense to the players or anyone on the blog but I hope the Braves management and marketing group CHOKE on those tickets! I just think it’s really funny that they are having to hawk those tickets just to be able to sell them all at this late date! You reap what you sow.
A simple HA HA is all I can respond with.
June 22nd, 20098:41 pm
so kelly gets hurt from walking to first?
Where did you go yesterday?? we were talking about your brilliant idea of trading for Adam Dunn
wow, they just showed a video clip of Evander Holyfield in a Braves jersey, getting the fans pumped up with a series of air punches (ok, i have no idea what to call that) and chanting “Let’s go Braves.” ….I like it
Wow…KJ finally looks to be coming around…and he’s either cramped up or hurt
June 22nd, 20098:42 pm
Kelly needs some potassium.
the was a ugly swing
Damn that looked bad, bad, bad. I hope he isn’t really hurt.
Hmm. McCann got his money’s worth on that cut…
I keep hearing that we should trade Vasquez but he has out pitched Lowe and is cheaper. How about we trade Lowe instead and use that money for hitters … plural.
Breaking news: Juan Pierre and a minor leaguer for Vasquez, the Dodgers will “eat” half of Pierre’s next year salary!!
I think Kelly has the cramps.
That swing by BMac was reminiscent of many of the AJ swings where Andruw would sit down in teh dirt at home plate after missing.
June 22nd, 20098:43 pm
So Yardhouse it is. Now we just need an excuse….
MAC looks horrible
Jeff Francouer+Lower level spec for Josh Willingham, can you bring that idea up to Wren PLEASE!!!!!
I don’t think Kelly’s used to being on base. Having to run from first to third cramped him up a little.
Plays like that last inning should make us realize McCann won’t catch another 8-10 years in MLB. The guy is too big go do this long term and his stick is way too good to have him hobbling in another 4 or 5 years. I think the Braves are making a huge mistake if they aren’t seriously considering their options for another position in the next couple of years. For those that haven’t spent time back there, it is really hard on your joints and back and moreso for a guy of Brian’s size. And (before you jump me McFann) I’m not just talking about his weight. He’s just a big guy.
Dempster can make guys look silly.
Yeah…I though for sure that would be 1st and 3rd…..and then I saw Chipper sliding into 2nd…I was like…whaaa?
June 22nd, 20098:44 pm
hmmm: trade lowe………interesting.
McCann was robbed!
rob of sc…right on, Javy’s a damn good pitcher. Would hate to trade him up.
Get come runs!!
how many times has that happend to the Braves in the last week?
OMG. Mac crushed that one
WE WAS ROBBED!!!!!
Josh Willingham just makes too much sense for the braves right now
Dammit! Another Atom Ball that is caught!
Nice Frustration By B-Macc, At least he Gives a Damn!!!
Klesko bat toss too! GET SOME!
June 22nd, 20098:45 pm
is it wrong to be happy about an injury
June 22nd, 20098:46 pm
If a team wanted Lowe, they woulda signed him in the offseason. No way they’re going to accept the salary from the top bidder and give up pieces to get him. At least, that’s the way I view it…
f.n. hale, you may be right about McCann long term. But I think he can catch 10 years before you move him to 1B. By then, you might be talking HOF.
Martin Prado is in the game at second base. Not sure what that’s about.
IF the dodgers add Kemp/Loney, they got themselves a deal.
I can’t remember seeing Mac so frustrated at himself- and there wasn’t much he could have done differently there…just great defense
Those damn things are driving my ****ing crazy!!!
I can’t tell if it’s a hit for like five seconds. It looks like a hit, I think it’s a hit, it should be a hit but just like that, it’s not and it makes me sick.
It should be 6-0.
McFann….he did all he could. but Andre the giant is standing over at first, tough to get one by that beanstalk
RE: trading Lowe
I don’t think anyone is going to give adequate value considering the length of his contract. Who would take on $15 mill for 3+ years for a 36 year old? Its not impossible, but Vazquez has more value because of his shorter/cheaper contract.
Trading Lowe is an interesting idea. For that to happen we need to make sure we keep Hudson to be the ace. Also before trading Lowe we would need to sign Javier Vazquez to a contract extension. If we are able to accomplish these two things then maybe trading Lowe could be an option. Really doubt Wren would even entertain that idea though.
Glad you liked it, TRobb1!

Pennski…………I want to see whoever plays for the Braves to do well and help the team. However, because I feel so strongly that having Francoeur in the line-up is not a good thing……..I feel that any time Francoeur gets a hit, that just prolongs his stay in the line-up. So in essence, when he gets a hit, it hurts the line-up long term. He should have been
Damn, nice rip from McCann. Just in the wrong spot. He should have been benched a long time ago. Francoeur simply does not have the ability to go on any kind of hot streak. And when I say “hot streak”, I mean something like 4 homers and 4 doubles in a week span……..like you see from Chipper and McCann when they go on a hot streak. Not a 7 for 18 “hot streak” when you only have 1 double like Francoeur had about a week ago, lol.
Carroll, Kelly came up lame rounding 2nd base for some reason. John thinks it’s cramps, but it’s hard to tell
Does Joe HAVE to keep reminding us of that 3rd game of the year….I mean damn…like we DON’T know.
classic. Right when Kelly begins to break out of it, he gets hurt. Hope he is ok.
Tough break that inning.
not drunk, been a sleep.
Javy, be perfect. It’s just that simple.
Don’t forget Schuerholz still has imput (Rob)
not exactly sure what you mean by that Rob, but I highly doubt they are gonna give up Freeman for half a season of almost anybody, especially someone like DeRo. besides the Indians are picking it up a bit and might not dump anybody, and if they do they swear they want MLB ready pitching.
June 22nd, 20098:48 pm
Nice to see some fierce passion out of B-Mac after that line out to Lee.
Dempster made him look really bad with some off balance swings and B-Mac ended up getting him, that was sure to plate 2 runs.
A healthy Josh Willingham is an upgrade over Jeff. I’ll agree with that much.
Kelly’s cramps must have been getting to him
Vazquez is just filthy.
TRobb1 By then, you might be talking HOF.
I know…but when you think how it coulda been an 2-run double…
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
