Carroll Rogers – No you didn’t jinx him.. does a hit and run get you off the hook regarding his base stealing prowess? I think so. Hit and run is tough. I have been very happy with Nate’s performance at the top of the order so far.
Gives us some punch and speed at the top of the order , what more could you ask for? Looking at the roster seems the best thing we can do.
good job Carroll!
June 22nd, 20098:10 pm
We should keep Javy for sure. He’s awesome. We can’t win without solid pitching and without him our pitching would be a lot thinner
June 22nd, 20098:11 pm
aIGHT NOW LET’S PUT THIS DEMPSTER IN A DAMN dUMPSTER!
Oh hell ol Joe is drinkin wine tonite…,.
June 22nd, 20098:12 pm
Braves made ‘em work in the third and Javy got ‘em 1-2-3 in the fourth.
Hope the bats keep it up in the bottom of the fourth and chase Dempster.
Lemme see If I could just get Stenchy to smoke a doobie maybe that boy would relx and play some damn ball????NAH!!!!!!

Chipper swinging through that pitch knowing the runners were going shows you just how tough a stretch he is in right now.
That being said, I have to send the runners in that situation with
Chipper at the plate every time! Does Chipper K sometimes? Sure he does but he’s such a good situational hitter he won’t be part of a “strike ‘em out-throw ‘em out” very often.

LOAF Is On Fire!
nice shot GA!
rob from sc
Does Garret ever break a sweat?
Too bad nobody was on base!
Loaf Garret on a blackberry from 2B
Come get in my poster!
JJ (WTH is Jeff Bennett still on the roster???)
There ya go Loaf!!!
Agreed B-Macc Doesn’t Look Right Without His Jake Plummer Beard…
Same Thing Goes for Smoltz…
I wish Loaf could hit like this when there are runners On!
Loaf has been in my spirits again!!!
June 22nd, 20098:16 pm
I sure hope what we’re seeing from GA at the plate is him warming up… Not just a hot streak.
The answer is Luis Castillo
Guess that was a gooooood BLUNT
And there goes it ~_~
Damn Big Dummy
Cox better bench Anderson for that s***
Dang it Loaf!!

Don’t hate. Failcoeur is up next anyway.
WHY Can’t This Team Hit With R.I.S.P. And Less Than 2 Out…?
This Is Really Beginning To Piss Me Off!!!
Loaf you Oaf
This guy has nothing and we’re letting him off the hook.
Javy is going to have to be perfect.
If their pitcher can’t get us out, don’t worry, we can take care of it. Watch us run the bases.
McCann has struck out 10 times this month after only striking out 12 times in April and May combined.
great job costing us a run loaf?
Damn, just because I said a couple of times over the winter that Chipper was due for a down year, doesn’t mean he actually had to go ahead and do it! That hurt. C’mon Bravos !
June 22nd, 20098:18 pm
Another Baserunning Blunder That Costs Us!!!
atta boy Jeff, too bad Casey can’t run out of sight in two days…
so GA gets caught in a run down so of course jeff gets a hit! F’ING typical!
Paul Lentz. That is what I was talking about. Eat it.
Damn, a miracle. Francoeur hits a double. Now he is 4 for his last 21, lol.
That just makes it worse as far as I’m concerned. Who would have thought Jeff would get a hit?
Come on D.
Oh hell, we’ll have to hear about that hit for 6 months. I mean, if his GIDP, fly out, and slow roller to first on the first pitch the other night were “some of his best at bats” then just imagine what he’ll have to say about a double.
Casey was trying to pull a ball to the right side to move the runner but there was no way he could pull that ball. So he got what he got.
Now Frenchy hits a gapper and no one scores.
Come On Dee..! We Need You Baby…!
June 22nd, 20098:19 pm
FRANK THE TANK!!
bobby Cox’s thoughts
If Escobar screws up on the bases they call him stupid
Garret F**** up the say he was being Aggresive
How slow is Casey Kotchman? wow a pregnant woman could outrun him.
I wouldn’t give Jeff as much credit for that double as I would blame Dempster for making a REALLY stupid pitch to a free swinger. But, he hit a mistake, so I’ll give ‘em that.
Molina just let that ball go right by him…didn’t look a starting catcher there.
June 22nd, 20098:20 pm
Paul Lentz –
Go hate somewwhere else. Freakin DA.
We Need The Bench Playas to step up if we have any shot at winning this year…
On thing that was so good about the 1995 Braves team Our Bench Playas were Clutch that year
June 22nd, 20098:21 pm
Long inning for Dempster
Epinephrine………….dude, I need to see A LOT MORE than a double (it would have only been a single if the centerfielder didnt bobble it)…….before I will even consider retracting how I feel about Francoeur’s hitting ability. A LOT MORE.
However, I’m sure that you now feel that he has “turned the corner” and should therefore be given a 5 year $75 mil extension.
Dempster’s already at 71 pitches in the 4th. This could be good news later on.
What do you guys think we would have to give up to get DeRosa. Can it be done without Freeman (Heyward is ubtouchable)
June 22nd, 20098:22 pm
get the bat off your shoulder diory… Dude is no better than a AAA infielder. cant hit
Diory sucks. Send him back down and call up Barbaro.
Dammittt!!! Another Wasted Oppurtunity…! That’s Twice Now…This Team Needs a 1995 Clutch Mike Mordecai of the bench if we are gonna win this thing
rob from sc…indians need young pitching. This is especially true since they probably won’t have Cliff Lee for very much longer.
yeah mike deveraux was great in the nlcs in 95
June 22nd, 20098:23 pm
I swear that this team is snake-bit. No matter what they do something seems to go wrong. Get rid of that dam cow, and shoot whoever put it up there.
Wasn’t Diory pretty high thought of as a minor leaguer? Maybe it was just for his defense but I thought he was a pretty soild little singles hitter with some speed.
Not scoring there hurts but at least they’ve kinda wore Dempster out the last 2.
How’s their pen? Overworked and underwhelming?
Steve from OH

Diory sucks. Send him back down and call up Barbaro
Just shows that you don’t have any idea what the heck you’re talking about. Diory is here because he can play SS, which Canizares cannot (heck, he can barely play 1B). Were the Braves to make that move, they’d be stuck using Johnson or Prado at short. These ain’t video games, dude.
Steve, I also don’t think we should sell him low. He’s had good seasons and he’s more capable of turning things around thant Jeff who I think is a lost cause.
Again, I’m not a fan of looking at career numbers either, especially when a player is in their 4th year like Kellly. Players usually change from the player they were in their 1st few years, so looking at BABIP using Kelly’s career numbers is moot IMO. It is interesting though how similar his BA/BABIP margin was in all his other seasons up till this point. I saw the same thing with Joe Mauer, who Yahoo argued wouldn’t hit .400 because of his high BABIP. I disagreed, because the challenge with hitting .400 is being consistent year round. Mauer does have a high BABIP, but to me that means he’s hitting the ball well. His margin between BA and BABIP was tied for the lowest in his career with the year he hit his career high in BA.
But anyway, when looking at BABIP I don’t look at career BA, just year to year comparisons with BABIP using the margin.
I agree that Kelly needs to start working counts. That was a helluva at bat last inning. I think if he does that more and sees more pitches, fouls tough ones off, he’ll start raking again (get his timing down). Funny that you are for playing Prado now, but after seeing that at-bat by kelly, i’m against it because it’s a sign he might be coming around, and no one on this team can be as productive as Kelly when he’s hot. It’s his consistency, or lack thereof, coupled by the team’s lack of consistency, that drives me nuts. This team is, and has been, a couple of consistent hitters away from making the postseason, and that is why i chose my stance on Kelly…as i’m sure you’re aware of by now. Gotta love your patience though…reminds me of Cox throughout the 90’s…
Don’t get me wrong I am not hating on Yadier Molina by all means but can a baseball fan actually think when they fill out this ballot that… hey that Molina is by far the best in the NL and we need him there so we can win this game? Outside those who pull for the Cardinals?
Where is the rest of the National League baseball fans that have watched the catcher position. It’s weird.
Diory ain’t no Infante. Maybe he’s destined to hit sometime in the future, but he an auto-out right now. Not killin’ the kid, he has no business being in the bigs yet so I’m cutting him some slack. Not his fault he isn’t ready. Just stating a fact.
June 22nd, 20098:25 pm
What do you guys think we would have to give up to get DeRosa. Can it be done without Freeman (ROB)
anybody who would be willing to give up Freeman for three months of DeRo is just plain …well I’m not even gonna say .
There is actually a new Yardhouse downtown that would be perfect…
June 22nd, 20098:26 pm
TnBrian, he was a solid hitter in AAA. I think they brought it up earlier in the broadcast that he was a good singles hitter in AAA
Epinephrine………..upon seeing a replay of that pitch, Francoeur should have done more with that pitch. It was a fastball middle in (in other words, in a player’s wheelhouse). I’m not saying that Francoeur cant get a hit on a pitcher’s mistakes. However Francoeur simply cannot DRIVE the ball. A home run on a pitch in his “wheelhouse” should happen “on occassion”.
Unreal, lol. Dude gets on hit on a pitch he should have “crushed” and you are telling me to “eat” it.
Actually Francoeur is 4 for his last 22 ( I forgot about his weak at-bat in the second inning).
Looks like he’s OK
Driver8 Where is the rest of the National League baseball fans that have watched the catcher position. It’s weird.
They’re prob’ly watching us play tonight.
I see blood! Man he was slow getting up. Dang that almost knocked him out.
ok so javy is gonna have a bad inning here gives up maybe 3….we won’t score again…then mcann looks like he almost killed himself.
Don’t forget Schuerholz still has imput.
Oh great. That’s exactly what we need.
Freakin’ Dempster is melting out there and he’s getting away with murder.
June 22nd, 20098:27 pm
Can BSPN Give B-Macc All the Press for Being Bloody! Much Like they Did With Curt Schilling’s bloody Sock…?
If McCann gets hurt we might actually catch the Nationals.
Come on Javy, perfect. Be perfect.
Damn, the Braves dodged a big bullet with McCann not getting hurt on that play. The Braves cannot afford to lose him.
June 22nd, 20098:28 pm
Joe Simpson has a good point…why not bring down the padding all the way down to the surface so nobody hits that concrete.
Paul, a double is a double is a double. Get that through your head! I don’t care if it doesn’t leave the infield, it’s a double. He “should” have crushed that pitch, unbelievable reasoning there, I am convinced.
trying to breathe again…
Wren In Doubt
Steve From Ohio – Thank you for pointing out that there are three phases to this game. Perhaps the gentleman you addressed missed yesterday’s game or the Brave’s 14-season run that featured outstanding D.
I have been dodging subway cars. What is the scoop with Esco?
No reason for that to be exposed at all.
Remember when BJ Surhoff broke his leg on the concrete in right field a few years back?
when you give up a hit to Andres Blanco, you are destined to give up a run
FEAR, you an emo kid?
June 22nd, 20098:29 pm
Bobby’s, I’m for giving Prado some more PT now until Kelly starts showing that he can hit again. Should this funk continue for a few more months, I’d be in favor of giving him a full-time job. I don’t think he’ll ever be able to top what Kelly did in 2007 over 600 PA, but he’ll do just fine. I suppose that’s why I still like Kelly–he’s proven that he can be a great stick at his position. Gotta have a little bit of patience with those types of hitters.
