atleast we get jj off the hook
Chop It Up All-Star
Heckuva hit by Escobar, heckuva play by Youkulis.
good game so far. adventurous
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?
I can’t take this anymore. We need to win this damn game. Can’t give up any more runs. We probably will though. Chipper and Brian better get it started in the 8th.
June 21st, 20093:22 pm
WOW! Youk would look good in a Braves uniform! I mean, he don’t look good in anything with that FUGLY face, but he can play some ball.
Steve from OH
rob–and I very clearly stated that trading Vazquez could make sense for the club. However, trading him for three A-ball prospects does not. We need OF bats, period. We get ‘em, and I think we’ll all be surprised at how competitive we’ll be. However, our pitching depth now is definitely not what it was at the start of the season, so dealing Vazquez does carry a LOT of risks–if Huddy or someone else goes down, we’re looking at a lot of face time with JoJo or Todd Redmond. Yikes.
TBrown…Chipper’s played baseball his whole life. During that period, he has been taught since little league that the SS is in charge in the infield. Why would he take charge on a pop-up hit to the SS when it is NOT what he is supposed to do? The damn think almost hit Escobar in the foot when it dropped. And it is not my opinion that Escobar is not the best player on the team. Statistically and factually, he is not the best player on the team.
Wow, potential game-saving play by Youkilis.
By the way, Prado looked like he tweaked that groin again scoring from second on the McLouth hit.
rob from sc
If we are going to rebuild the right way than I am prepared to wait a few seasons if that means being good for a long period of time. Look how long we sucked before the run in the 90’s. That was worth it was it not?
We are more set than you thing
C – McCann
1B – Freeman (2010, 2011)
2B – Prado ( he reminds me of Pedroia with the passion he plays with)
SS – Escobar
Lf – McLouth
Cf – Schafer
RF – Heyward (opening day 2010)
not a bad start
Jurrjens4NLCY – We’re tied at 4, RBI singles from Blanco and McClouth. Youk just robbed Yunel on a hell of a stop at 3B to end the inning.
How’s Prado’s groin? Looked to be ok running the bases on that play, on a slick field and all.
If his groin is healed, then there really is no excuse to play Kelly over him in the near future.
John Deere Green
Boy I bet Simpson is down in the dugout right now licking Failurecouers ears!!!
boston cant be an easy environment to pitch in. I thought JJ pitched pretty well considering.
June 21st, 20093:23 pm
I really like Prado. having him and infante in the lineup will give the Braves a boost.
I mean Double A, close to the majors prospects.
Ok im caought up
Bobby Cox Hat Tipping Club
And Youk proves again why he is the type of player that ANY big leaguer should aspire to be. Get dirty. Get intense. Get it done. Pressure? He’s never heard of it.
Give me 8 Youks in the starting lineup and my team will win 125 games.
June 21st, 20093:24 pm
Uh yeah. He’s pretty good.
The Braves did not sign Chipper to a 3-year deal before the season just so they can trade him. He would veto a trade anyway.
We’ve got a new game btw. So let’s turn those blog frowns upside down for a little while.
Holy smokes! Bobby is trotting JJ back out for the seventh! At 100 pitches!
Thank you RHR
Texas – Justin Smoak
Angels – Brandon Wood
Cleveland – Matt LaPorta
That type of Prospect
Rob–we’ve already got those pieces in place. Why not take a risk now and try to compete this year and next, and then re-tool with Heyward and Freeman?
You’re sort of agreeing with me anyway…
June 21st, 20093:25 pm
Come On Braves! We Should be winning this Game…Lets Go…!
Jobu Said So…!
I get so frickin’ tired of folks crying about poor so and so starting pitcher, if only he got run support. Beat the opposing pitcher. THat’s your job. The other team scored less that day because you didn’t pitch as good the opponent’s pitcher.
JJ has recovered nicely but if he gives up anything here please for the love of God Bobby don’t leave him hanging out there until Boston takes the lead.
Jason — I understand the SS is in charge of the infield..Escobar also started the play positioned just about behind 2nd and chipper was shifted over towards SS. You can’t put that all on Yunel.
And i don’t know what stats you’re referring to, but I’m not going to argue. There’s no need in arguing who the best player is. It’s, in most cases, opinion.
Loaf!!!! You DUMBASS!!!!
Loaf being loaf in the field..
Ok so if they cancel the game, the Braveswont lose right?
Well, Cox sends Jair out in the 7th and he gives up a lead off double..
ugh. here we go on the bravesacoaster ride
The dropsies infected GA. A double off the first pitch from JJ.
Why did I feel like the Sox would come right back after that last inning?
Mets take the lead on a 3-run bomb by Schneider
Steve from OH
If we don’t trade Heyward, Freeman, Hanson, or Vazquez…who do we trade that other teams want?
June 21st, 20093:26 pm
Come On, Another Error!!! Even though it wasn’t scored as on, Our Defense Sucks!!!
Most managers take JJ out after that…we’ll see how long Bobby leaves him hanging. I’m guessing he’ll wait until Boston has a 1 or 2 run lead.
Just plain bad defense by my man Garret Anderson. Bad defense is infectious.
How bout we call Dave Winfield and give him the Batting Coach job!!!
Another costly mistake. Garret had time, dude was just rounding first when Garret dropped the ball on exchange.
Apparently reading comprehension really isn’t your thing, Rob. Never said that we shouldn’t trade Javy if the right deal comes along. You did this same thing yesterday.
Our farm system is pretty bare. A lot of our prospects are struggling.
June 21st, 20093:27 pm
We are seriously doomed…i bet this run scores…
C’ mon Braves, If you win here I promise I’ll never use your name in vein again!
Anyone want to bet a dollar the Sox do not waste a leadoff double? What stats am I talking about? I don’t know…probably not FG% or TDs scored.
Vazquez gives us one bat, do you thing that is enough Steve? I don’t
June 21st, 20093:28 pm
*Applause* for Bobby.
Ohh Jurrjens is pissed about the change, maybe he should made that play and we would’ve won
June 21st, 20093:29 pm
On 1-2, JJ just threw Pedroia a high inside fastball ala MLB “The Show.” He didn’t swing.
JJ gets Pedroia to fly out to McLouth on an adventurous route in center.
Now BC pulls JJ. He can lose it (runner at second with 1 out) but he cannot win it.
JJ looked like he wanted to stay in the game.
rob, pardon me sir but the Braves farm system is hardly bare, in Fact it is the 5th rated system in all of MLB!!!!
Check your facts sir!!!!
JasonInFL, I’ll bet they don’t score
Loaf is a professional hitter no time to focus on fielding
J4NLCY- You say that now, just wail ’til tomorrow…
June 21st, 20093:30 pm
Is that how you have a conversation. You bash people who don’t agree with your comments. You said dealing Vazquez does carry a LOT of risks. Make up you mind. We either get the bat or miss the playoff’s.
Vazquez gives us one bat, do you thing that is enough Steve? I don’t
You’re really talking in circles, dude. I’m not sure what you mean. So we’ve already got a lot of pieces to compete, but we’ve gotta trade Chipper for prospects? Gotta trade Javy, but a big bat isn’t enough? Well, what is enough? Do you really expect to get a bat and two good prospects for Javy? Because I’d be surprised if we did.
Come On Easy-E
Oh SHEET THE HUMAN GAS CAN O’FLAMERTY
June 21st, 20093:31 pm
Jurrjens4NLCY, ok. I hope I am wrong! I will send you a buck if not though.
John Deere Green
Who is having a good season besides the three in Myrtle Beach. Go to MILB.com and look up the stats. BAseball America top 30, most of them are struggling.
Loaf Garett on a blackberry from left field
guys give me a break ok, its super windy, the wind knocked it out of my glove. Will somebody please get me a freakin pretzel and a tab im thirsty
i wouldn’t waste my money on your bet cuz we all know they are gonna score
WHERE WAS THAT
Come On Blue!!!
WHAT! THAT WAS A STRIKE! *head explodes*
Now the Ump ain’t calling strikes
SOB here we fkn go!!!!
this ump is an absolute f-kin joke
So much for strike 3
THWG, Actually tomorrow i’m having “the guys” over and were going watch the game in chicago and if the Braves lose imma burn my hat but if the Cubs lose they are gunna burn their hats
June 21st, 20093:32 pm
Ha, I don’t guess Soriano would be good in this spot instead of EOF, eh?
I’m out — See ya tomorrow!
JasoninFl…you are right…
Orioles up 2-1 on Phils. Andersons bad play comes back to haunt the Braves.
Chipper just got run
O’Flaherty just “struck out” JD Drew (showed it on pitch track it was a fat third strike). Has to throw another pitch and JD smokes it. GA throws in to second (wtf)? and no play at the plate.
And now O’Flaherty, Cox, and Chipper Jones have just been tossed out of the game.
CHIPPER IS GETTING THROW OUT! OMFG!
Holy FCKING AAAGTGGHHH, Off with the umps head!!
wow..chipper has a pulse
Our Defense Lost this Game, Nuff Said
Get Rid Of Loaf NOW!!!
ATTABOY HOSS, Its About Time You Stand Up!!!
June 21st, 20093:33 pm
My point is I would not play for this season. Play for 2011 and beyond. That is my point. One bat does not make this team a playoff team. We have a lot of issues.
Chipper — I like it..except you’re LEADING OFF NEXT INNING IN A ONE RUN GAME.
All relays should go directly to Yunel
Holy crap he was HOT!
Mayhem on the diamond. Ejections abound.
rob, there is a difference in struggling, and learning,Failurecouer=STRUGGLING, a,aa,and aaa Ballplayers=learning
I like to see fire from Chipper…but losing our best hitter doesn’t help our chances of winning this game.
Yeah, Braves have no life alright. That’s as mad as I’ve ever seen Chipper Jones.
GOO Chipper and Bobby!!
Wow I have NEVER seen Chipper do that!
June 21st, 20093:34 pm
Watching Chipper lose his temper…gotta say, kinda awesome
Damn!!! Chipper was Gettin Crunk!!!
Alright Chipper. They have a point. That was indeed a stike. We already cost ourselves enough runs. That EOF pitch was perfect.
That ump look scared.
Told ya not to mess with the ’stache
Go comb your mustache you douche.
That was bull****.
Helluva display Chipper need more of that from YOU son!!!
Now we lose the DH because of the ejection, I guess I owe you a dollar
June 21st, 20093:35 pm
I agree, but Other teams look at the stats when discussing a trade.
hometown EFFING umps. screw you boston.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
