Yeah! He said “you gotta put that one on Yunel – he’s usually really aggressive with anything around him and Kelly Johnson.”

Rob from sc – I obviously don’t have anyone evidence to support this, but in watching them “interact” and in reading what chipper has to say about certain things and about escobars benching, I’d say not at all. I think we are a better team with Chipper Jones on it. However in the next few years we have a lot of talented prospects coming up. Schafer, Heyward, Freeman, Johnson. I don’t want Chipper’s “buisness like ” attitude to rub off on them. Chipper deserves another shot at a ring and it doesn’t look like the Braves will have that team for at least a few years. Chipper doesn’t look very happy right now. It might be time to hand the leadership of the team over to McCann. Pass the torch.

Huh TBrown. Someone here argued with me over that early in the season when I wanted Infante starting in favor of KJ because Infante was hitting so well at the time. I used the Green/Lugo “hot hand” example and they said the only reason the red sox were playing Green over Lugo was because Lugo had just been activated off the DL, this was in late April/early May so I guess that’s not the reason anymore…

As for the chipper/yunel “dropped” pop up?

Both of my sons coaches make SOMEBODY yell that they’ve got it, and if said person doesn’t catch it, it’s pushup time. If NEITHER of them call it, it’s lap time.

Perhaps Yunel and Chipper should be running laps right now?

It’s just painful (maybe you guys have “seen” it all year, it’s hard to tell the pulse/mood of the team on radio), to watch these guys play with such little fire.

The whole lot of em has to go. Keep McCann and the pitching staff and move on. I’d say keep McLouth too, but a couple more weeks around these guys and he’ll be ruined too.

Start with Bobby and move em on out. Because this group is going nowhere fast.

RHR–Lugo isn’t that great of a comparison because he’s really not any good anyway. The Sawx have been trying to get rid of him for some time now if I remember correctly. Jurrjens4NLCY

I was born and raised in New Jersey. Born in 81 so when I started watching baseball in 1990 the Braves, Mets, and Yankees sucked. My dad is a die hard Yankee fan and despite our many trips to Yankee Stadium I became a Braves fan to his disappointment. My wife keeps reminding me that I made the wrong choice. I love my Braves, but they are not a happy bunch right now.

I would fire Bobby Cox (replace with Eddie Perez, fire Pendleton and replace with Wellman. Release Anderson. Demote Kelly Johnson. And trade Vazquez (althought he has been great) Gonzalez, Soriano, and Chipper Jones and rebuild the farm system. I don’t know if that would make us better for the next 10 years, but something drastic needs to be done.

The Braves are doing to Escobar what the Mets did to Reyes. Making them play without their child like enthuisism (sp) and neither player is playing the same. It’s a game, players should have fun.

Kind of the nature of the beast here in Atlanta with what Frenchy said. I’m pretty sure it will be about 50/50 for Yanks, Cubs, and Sox. Me personally, I really don’t care. If the Braves handle their business those fans have nothing to cheer for. Atlanta certainly isn’t the only city to see an influx of fans rooting for the other team. Arizona and Florida come to mind as some of those other cities. Lots of transplants, people making business trips here, vacations and such. It doesn’t kill your wallat to pay for a good seat at Turner Field. I’ll do my part on the homestand rooting for the home team.
