Get Rid of the Amstel Light Commercials! Cheese-Whiz!
I wasn’t trying to be funny, I’m serious. I’m so surprised. I would’ve guessed he was, at the very least, 42.

I wonder if Jurrjens will call himself out after the game. He had no problem doing it to Escobar last start. People need to remember that the baseball season is long and the everyone F**** Up from time to time.
June 21st, 20092:16 pm
Look! Its the Fail Twins!
That’s were Francoeur and Johnson belong
Yeah joe I did, I hope we can pull a Frenchy + Jo Jo for David Dejesus
great bunt for Escobar
June 21st, 20092:17 pm
That was an outstanding but by Yunel
Escobar bunts for a hit down the third base line.
Nice But Esco! Do That More Often, Love It!!!
David O’Brien……….I’m not worried about Chipper’s 10 game slump. All good hitters go through bad stretches. I have no doubt that he will rebound soon.
Even the outs for both teams are rips.
I have a feeling that Frank Wren is going to wait until after the upcoming home stand before he steps up his efforts to make a trade for that big bat. The Braves are going to pretty much sell out the upcoming home stand (Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies, and tomorrow’s Cubs make-up game). Perhaps a trade after the home stand for a big bat will entice more fans to come out on the next home stand after this one.
Just speculation on my part (however if some team came up and knocked the Braves socks off with a good trade offer, then of course Frank Wren would wisely jump all over it).
I think Kelly and Jeff would be more successful as a comedy duo than a MLB teams 2B and RF.
Bobby Cox Hat Tipping Club
JJ hasn’t been the pitcher in the last half of his starts that he was in the first half of his starts. Not a clue why. Just doesn’t seem sharp.
OOOHHH PERFECT BUNT!!
June 21st, 20092:18 pm
Tomahawkin, you might wanna respell “bunt”
Chipper can’t buy a “ball” call from this ump.
rob did JJ really call out Escobar last game? Wha’d he say?
June 21st, 20092:19 pm
Ah, the golden boys.
Having a little fun riding the bench are Kelly and Jeff. Yeah, stay put guys.
Chipper may be struggling of late, however the umpires havent been helping him. He has received some very questionable strike calls lately.
Chipper weak fly ball out to right. No advance by Escobar.
We Are Playing one of the roughest stretches of the year and Chipper’s Bat goes into creep mode…! WTF is this from our “Self Proclaimed Leader”…?
June 21st, 20092:20 pm
yea jurjens doesn’t look like himself latly just awful to start today.
June 21st, 20092:21 pm
McCann grounds into a double play, first baseman to second baseman to first baseman.
Is escobar afraid of the ball?
What…chipper is not allowed to go into a slump a few times in a career?
June 21st, 20092:22 pm
Yep, as Chipper goes, so do the Braves.
Offense May not score the rest of the day, It seems…
No ABC Baseball today at all…
I don’t understand. KJ and Frenchy’s approach to hitting is as screwed up as a box of coat hangers so why have them sitting? Facing a knuckle baller can’t screw their swings up any more than they already are. In fact, they might actually hit him. lol
Dangit…I can’t stand DP’s!!
June 21st, 20092:23 pm
let me try to find it Soph
Chipper, please retire.
June 21st, 20092:24 pm
“McLouth hits it hard, but Drew runs it down.
This is your 2009 Atlanta Braves.” – abwright
Didn’t quite understand what you mean here. How can you take it against the Brave when JD Drew made a good play?
June 21st, 20092:25 pm
I thought DOB had a comment that Jurrjens in his blog from that day, I can’t find it though.
June 21st, 20092:26 pm
NotAgain (June 21st, 2009 12:55 pm): ” ‘embarrassed you? Then I did my job, wanna meet up at the park? We can settle this quickly.’ —(Not again [June 21st, 2009 12:41 pm])
“yeah all that stupid trash was pretty embarrassing Random, but if we met at the park it would be you who got embarrassed. Yeah meet at the park, talk some typical trash why don’t you? Which particular park is that going to be? Just let me know where ans when and I’ll be there. Oh, if I’m a bit late just wait around a while.”
Who you talking to???
Not me, I assure you — I am not “Not again”.
June 21st, 20092:27 pm
too bad we didnt trade tex for youk
Schaffer was actually born in Indiana, so Joe is wrong
Does this blog take html code?
June 21st, 20092:28 pm
Wow, what a tag by Prado!
There We Go D-Ross! Nice DP!!!
McFann…I love DP’s like that one
Remember when we all but had Jason Bay..
Great huck, Rossy.
June 21st, 20092:29 pm
D-Ross showing the GUN!
Red Sox fans really are great. I wish I could be like them. I wish I could live in New England where it’s sunny five days out of the year.
They sell out cause that place holds 10,000 people.
Trade Mccann and play Ross fulltime. You folks are glued to McCann
Wow, nice play by Ross, Jurrens, and Prado on that steal. That was a helluva change up by Jurrjens and a helluva throw by Ross.
Prado always looks like he’s having fun when he plays.
June 21st, 20092:30 pm
frenchy a rock star in boston?
Yeah, yeah. Me, too.
The ump woulda called that guy safe if BMac woulda thrown the ball…
JJ4Cy, Schafer is from FL. Might’ve been born in Indiana but raised in FL.
HAHAHA Not Again. Haha.
I’m not Random
June 21st, 20092:31 pm
McFann, Mac would’ve gotten Youk there.
Not again Trade Mccann and play Ross fulltime.
Oh man, that’s not even funny as a joke.
June 21st, 20092:32 pm
Yeah, he would have gotten him, but the ump woulda called Youk safe, anyway.
So strange to look up and see 58 mph on the radar reading
Not Again, can we trade you for some Schwette Balls?
What is the deal!
Braves are getting really unlucky today.
June 21st, 20092:34 pm
Braves blow, ballgame.
It’s no joke McHoney, You need to realize Ross throws better and can swing it. McCann slowly grounds into double play and Bobby Cox can steal off this guy. STOP being so hardheaded and TRADE MCCANN!!!!!!! DO IT NOW OMG
What slop Wakefield “throws” up there. unbelievable
Outstanding mustache from the home plate umpire today. Can’t argue with that
Does Tim Wakefield know how to throw anything else besides a knuckleball? Has he ever? I know it is effective but has he ever thrown a fastball?
Kotchman, Kotsay & Kottaras — all the Major League Baseball Players that ever played whose last name begins with “Kot” are playing in the game today.
PS: What does it mean when your right mouse button doesn’t work all of a sudden?
One damn error as we move closer to inning number 5, a rain-out and a loss.
June 21st, 20092:35 pm
Gonna split in a few minutes…So if the Braves suddenly score a bunch of runs, just know it’s ’cause I’m not here…
This game is over, we will not win, I will be any amount of money we wont win. The umpire is calling everything that Wakefield is throwing a strike, but Jurrjens is not getting the calls on the corners. But yet, everything Wakefield throws, Strike, strike, strike. He seems to be calling them strikes as to where the catcher is catching them, not where they pass through the zone, like it should be. Just because the catcher catches it in the zone, doesnt mean its a strike when its about 4 feet higher than the shoulders passing through.
June 21st, 20092:36 pm
Somebody remind MARTIN of the strike zone.
Steve from OH
You need to realize Ross throws better and can swing it.
You mean the guy with a career .227 BA and .316 OBP? LOL!
Thats the Braves for you, worst team in baseball.
Um can we get a WTF?
June 21st, 20092:37 pm
Its all Chipper’s fault! Cox better bench him tomorrow, eh?
I am sure Escobar will get blame on it again
That was pathetic. Cannot describe how bad that play was. Jesus.
[Shakes head in disbelief]
June 21st, 20092:38 pm
Both of them are to blame, how stupid nobody called it? WTF?
Are you implying McCann can’t swing it? How did we get our two runs in this game?
Bobby cann steal off “this guy”? LOL! That’s a lie! McCann’s caught 26% of baserunners this year. Not the greatest, but WAY better than he was last year.
I can’t believe Boog put that one on Escobar. It was Chipper’s fault too. Keep it real.
ROSS woulda caught that
Ross has a gun.
Speechless about that play. Can only assume Escobar gave up on it after seeing Chipper out of corner of his eye, or thinking perhaps Chipper was calling for it. I just don’t know. Brutal.
WTF is going on here?
That was all on Chipper
June 21st, 20092:39 pm
Papi’s homer is gonna be the factor in this game. Braves will lose 3-2 or 4-2.
Im sorry chipper………….but you are the dad of all this kids………..should have taken that one
As I type that, the redsox announcers said the SS should take any infield fly if it is around him………which really makes more sense that what I just said.
Bad play Jurrjens great play Ross
Recorded as a single to left field in the gameday thing. Dumb. Why can’t they just put single to shortstop?
Does Yunel know how to say/hear “I got it” or “You take it” in English?
Back to back.. head-scratcher defensive plays.. Luckily we got the second one. tsk.
Maybe Yuni lost it in the Citgo sign.
Thanks for contributing, FEAR.
Boog blamed escobar? Im so tired of making him the scapegoat for everything that goes wrong. That’s BS.
June 21st, 20092:40 pm
I have finally figured out the Braves. There is talk of needing to play”small ball” with the personnel etc.. What is really happening is that Liberty Media has decided that “small ball” will work for the Atlanta market. Cheap players, media hype, stadium amenities , fun at the park. beer and reveries.Revenues are down, but they are good enough for the minimal expectations the owner has. We need an owner that is driven to win for winning’s sake, and an owner that gives a **** about Atlanta and the Southeast..
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
