I wonder if Jurrjens will call himself out after the game. He had no problem doing it to Escobar last start. People need to remember that the baseball season is long and the everyone F**** Up from time to time.

David O’Brien……….I’m not worried about Chipper’s 10 game slump. All good hitters go through bad stretches. I have no doubt that he will rebound soon.

Even the outs for both teams are rips.

I have a feeling that Frank Wren is going to wait until after the upcoming home stand before he steps up his efforts to make a trade for that big bat. The Braves are going to pretty much sell out the upcoming home stand (Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies, and tomorrow’s Cubs make-up game). Perhaps a trade after the home stand for a big bat will entice more fans to come out on the next home stand after this one.

Just speculation on my part (however if some team came up and knocked the Braves socks off with a good trade offer, then of course Frank Wren would wisely jump all over it).

This game is over, we will not win, I will be any amount of money we wont win. The umpire is calling everything that Wakefield is throwing a strike, but Jurrjens is not getting the calls on the corners. But yet, everything Wakefield throws, Strike, strike, strike. He seems to be calling them strikes as to where the catcher is catching them, not where they pass through the zone, like it should be. Just because the catcher catches it in the zone, doesnt mean its a strike when its about 4 feet higher than the shoulders passing through.

I have finally figured out the Braves. There is talk of needing to play”small ball” with the personnel etc.. What is really happening is that Liberty Media has decided that “small ball” will work for the Atlanta market. Cheap players, media hype, stadium amenities , fun at the park. beer and reveries.Revenues are down, but they are good enough for the minimal expectations the owner has. We need an owner that is driven to win for winning’s sake, and an owner that gives a **** about Atlanta and the Southeast..
