Go B-Mac! Poor Jacoby – not having fun out there.
Frenchy and KJ are a complete joke.
Kawakami has been pretty solid this season just no run support. Garret aka Loaf is actually playing better and being somewhat solid. And Kotchman has so many haters which is a joke, he plays gold glove defense and his tons of doubles.
WooHoo….There’s you 2b McFann
June 19th, 20098:31 pm
Hey McFann….one of those UHM… DOUBLES! LOL
This game can be a momentum changer
McFann Where U At????
That would’ve been a homer at Atlanta!
GA got fooled on that change
Yep! Nearly called it, too!
June 19th, 20098:32 pm
anybody having trouble with mlb.tv?
I’m right here!
Yeah, woulda been a homer at the Ted, but you know how I feel about doubles!
Sweet! Another double!
Nate McClouth has a homer and a double today……….which equals the total number of doubles and homers that Jeff Francoeur has for the whole month of June.
Nice rip Garrett.
June 19th, 20098:33 pm
Wow. I’ll take it but WTH is going on in the Sox outfield?
It’d be nice to get into their bullpen. Tax ‘em a little for the rest of the series.
There We Go LOAF!!!
FCK U J.D. Screw, U Suck!!!
Leave him in coach.
Great site for contracts (I admit- I find pro sports contracts fascinating)
I can’t help it if I find you way more entertaining when you are happy
Great back to back doubles by Mac & GA!
Good Job LOAF!!!!
Steve from OH
Dice-K really sped up GA’s slow-arse bat there. Turrible pitch. Just turrible. Gotta love it.
Yep……they’re the fricking Bronx Bombers!! Hahahahaha
Your bullpen isn’t going to help you now TF.
What a weird team this is
June 19th, 20098:34 pm
Lol Tomahawkin. I see you feel the same way I do about JD.
Who is this team that is wearing my team’s jerseys?
Dice-K leaves to a round of boos. Thanks for the memorable performance in the all-Japanese showdown, Diceman.
I’m glad that was a long double. I don’t think Heap could have scored otherwise.
What’s he doing? NO! Don’t take him out! We like him!
June 19th, 20098:35 pm
You don’t like Francoeur, do you?
Great scoring job by BMac, BTW–and very nice double for both of them. Shucks…no more Dice-K.
I’m Calling It again Tonight, We Got This Game in the Bag!!!
The Blow-Pen Better Not Play With My Emotions Tonight!!!
June 19th, 20098:36 pm
Good hustle LOAF!
Happened to me too, that’s why i changed ro MLB extra innings. I love it
The Japanese media must be pretty disappointed with that match up. At least they are getting a good performance from KK.
That away Loaf-and Diaz getting him over.
June 19th, 20098:37 pm
Another good hustle LOAF!
I just wonder….the schizophrenia. What is it? Obviously they are good enough when they hit well to play with the best in the league, but they’re not consistent enough to play that way against the scrubs.
Is it leadership? What gives???
I’m not sure if Paul likes anyone…
nice baserunning by the vet there Is anyone else dissapointed they pulled Dice-K?
Good Sac Fly, Well Take That!!!
Oh my God, that was perfect!
Thank you for catching that you idiot.
Another run, should have been a double but got robbed top [lay tonight
Nice Kotch! That’s how you do it Braves!
That was a great catch- and more good baserunning by Garrett
Tomorrow will be a big game for our offense. Dice-K hasn’t been good all year. If we can score some runs and beat Beckett that would give the team some big momentum.
That catch looked weird
the real Andy
who’s Loaf-ing now? take that, haters
June 19th, 20098:38 pm
GA got some cardio…lol
there we go ABC baseball get on get over and get em in. Productive outs thats what this team hasnt been doing the whole year
Wow. Loaf with a heads up hustle play.
Now Jeff can strike out without fear of reprisal, whatever that means.
That was really amazing. Garrett that is. Not Jeff.
I really thought KK was going to geatt beat today, but he has proved me wrong.
June 19th, 20098:39 pm
I’m almost speechless. TWO days in a row, the Braves have put up some runs.
AND….Bal leads 4-2 now.
Great base running by GA, now! And that was a pretty good catch…
Haha, you could be right on that one.
lol, DOB with the cold punch…
June 19th, 20098:40 pm
I can really see Francouer improving his strikeouts are decreasing, and he has been putting the ball in play.
Loaf = professional baserunner
June 19th, 20098:41 pm
That was a fair ball. He HAD to catch it.
Another good inning. It’s amazing how many runs you can score when you play smart and do the little things.
Coach ( 2010 or Bust)
Now that is good baseball. Diaz gets the runner to third with the sac fly to right field, and Kotchman drives Anderson home from third with a sacrifice fly down the line. 6-0 Atlanta.
no, not leadoff walk
June 19th, 20098:42 pm
Come on KK just need 2 more innings from ya
Why Do They Play that “Braves Play here Country Music Commerical”?
Not Every Braves Fan (Especially the Young Ones) Live In the Sticks and Cherish Country Music. That Commercial Is So Stereotypical Especially when the teams up north view all braves fans as rednicks…I miss The old TBS Music when they played the mixed jazz/music…
The NESN feed has been perfect all night.
Nice to get Dice K in the first game – perhaps this will propel the Braves forward with a nice offensive surge.
Man, what happened to that guy? Dice K used to be good – I wouldn’t say he was an elite pitcher, but he went 18-3 last year with a 2.90 ERA last year in 29 games…
June 19th, 20098:43 pm
Maybe there is something to the supposed “big-game” pitcher that Kawakami was known to be in Japan. I mean, he had his first strong start in the spring when all the focus was on him and Dice-K in their much-chronicled matchup.
Then he had his best start of the seasons when he outpitched Roy Halladay.
Now, in packed Fenway with a lot of attention focused on him again….
calling a double play
I have a theory:
Since braves have all the pitching in the world, they might have some edge. Why? Because as season progresses, teams with less pitching have more chances to get arms injured because of excessive use, worn out. Just the way it happened to us last few season. So those teams will have to score like 8 runs per game to keep playing above .520 baseball (to say a number). This teams are phillies and muts. What happens is that Carlos Delgado is gone and Wright and Beltran wont keep hitting .350+ all year………….none of them. And the phillies……..well……….their hottest hitter is already down in Ibañez…… We keep health which we kind of have……..and we could be in good shape. Chipper is healthy, mc is too. All our pitchers are healthy, I still think moylan has some arm problems that he is not telling us. McLouth hits………..we score…………we score…….KK shuts down the redsox………….we are learning some new things…………hope this gives some of you guys some hope……….
Might be 4.5 back before saturday…………
June 19th, 20098:44 pm
6-4-3. Way to go.
Yes! DP baby I love it. I travel to Boston twice a month on business. If we can hold up I will love it.
Is that a splitter KK keeps missing bats with? I don’t remember him throwing it this much.
June 19th, 20098:45 pm
Damn I just read my last post….I gotta stop chatting on Facebook and Blogging Simultaneously….
Dude is DEALIN’!!!
How many Japanese reporters are there??
This is more like it ain’t it folks??? Guess we got “up” for this game with a lot of help from Dice K of course but hey at this stage we will take whatever we can get and be happy with it. Just keep the pressure on em Bravos!!!
Bravesman sweet call!
Counting Vazquez’s last 3 innings on Wednesday, yesterday’s shutout, and today’s 5 shutout innings so far………the Braves have given up 10 hits and 0 runs in their last 17 innings pitched. Not bad. It’s nice to see some good pitching backed up by some offense for a change.
HE HAS ALLOWED 1 HIT
June 19th, 20098:46 pm
Keep your fingers and toes crossed to get this game over. Phils down 4-2 6th
i was kinda feelin it, thanx
June 19th, 20098:47 pm
Fish and Phils are losing. Darn Mutts.
Mac’s calling a good game. Pretty important with KK on the mound, using the curve at perfect times.
still cant believe we are actually in this race
chrisw148….I have one eye on that game…no doubt.
Don’t look now but our pitching hasn’t given up a run in fifteen innings, and we have outscored the opposition 14-0 during the same stretch.
What a strange game this baseball is……
June 19th, 20098:48 pm
Anybody watch this Heineken commercial, i love it for some reason
And somehow neither Yunel nor Kelly screwed it up. It is our night isn’t it?
Wait, now I’m playing into the non-believers. After all I predicted a win long before the start of play tonight. Not to say that we already have or will (you know, win) but I said we would play well against these teams.
Looks pretty good so far.
Chip and Joe have been talking about how the extra day of rest has helped KK. He sure is throwing a superb game so far.
June 19th, 20098:49 pm
Masterson can bring it, huh.
Timmy is a dumb arse
looking pretty good so far. What a shame we don’t have a 2nd baseman or right fielder.
He sure is! Thankfully KK is hitting his spots–something he had trouble with in his last start.
Let’s go Kelly.
man like wKelly works the count
June 19th, 20098:50 pm
That’s what I’ve said before. With the extra day rest, Kawakami always seems to pitch well. The 6 Man Rotation effect caused by the day off.
Good job KJ! God if we get just go from awful to average at 2B and RF lol
Jersey Gil: I was reading through the blog during the game and saw your post about moving back to Woodstock. We lived there from ‘86 thru
‘03 before moving to the FL coast. Left our son and 3 grandgirls there. I envy you going back to Bravesland. Woodstock sure has changed over the years, hasn’t it? That KMart at 92/Bells Ferry was IT as far as shopping when we built up on Allatoona.
I’ll bet you’re counting the days/months to go before your move………but I sure don’t miss the TRAFFIC!!
big nate batting
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
