No they haven’t. I believe it is 8-9-1 this inning
Can we trade Nick Green for KJ…and put him back at 2B? : )
June 19th, 20098:02 pm
Nick Green! I remember him.
Frenchy and KJ are a complete joke.
good one I Wonder lol
June 19th, 20098:03 pm
ESCO, Come On!!!
June 19th, 20098:04 pm
That slide was Heapesque.
Jeez Esco. Come on now. Chillax and throw.
OK, I know he was safe but that was a very good play by Casey to even make it close.
Let’s see if Diaz is 0 fer after the game before passing final judgement. Besides, how many games has McCann-Chipper-Escobar gone 0 fer and nobody questioned. Diaz may go 0 fer on his second consecutive day starting and so its determined he can’t hit rightys.
Unlike most of you, I havent been bashing Kawakami. Since his struggles in the month of April, I feel that he has “made adjustments” and pitched better in May and June. He gives the Braves innings and gives us a chance to win.
Is he going to dominate most nights? Nope. However, as the summer continues, I see the walks going down and him getting more wins. He is adjusting to the American strike zone.
For a 4th starter, I’ll take him over the vast majority of 4th starters on other teams. In time, his contract will end up being viewed as a bargain. The going rate for a decent starting pitcher is $10 mil a year. The going rate for a really good starting pitcher is $15 mil plus.

Good way to get your first baseman hurt badly, a throw like that. Visions of one of those wrist-smashing collisions always possible, like the one that nearly ended Cliff Floyd’s career early with Montreal.
Boy…I hope that error doesn’t come home to bite us in the _ _ _
This Error Will Hurt Us, “Bank On It!”
If Anything Kamakaze has to throw more pitches and he isn’t a long man as we have seen this season…
Unfortunately, no. Back then I wasn’t half the fann I am now. As the second half of 2005 progressed, I started becoming more and more int’rested, though it took me a while to get the whole “batting average” thing…haha, and I remember being happy to see Estrada catching when we went to the game on July 8 and October 6, 2005…
Yeah that is rare…
but I do believe the official ruling was a wild pitch
Really? Guess ya can’t trust Gameday…
June 19th, 20098:06 pm
Nate doing well. Love this kid.
June 19th, 20098:07 pm
Glad I don’t bank with Tomahawkin.
You are aware of how many banks have failed these days, right?
Three innings and less than 40 pitches for KK…could a redo of his earlier-season gem.
June 19th, 20098:08 pm
Paul Lentz, good for you, man. Good for you. *applauds*
I Wonder Besides, how many games has McCann-Chipper-Escobar gone 0 fer and nobody questioned.
Not many. Guess you weren’t here the other day, but I kinda let McCann have it after that 0-4…
I Wonder……….I am all for Diaz being given a chance to get in a groove. I feel that he can hit righties if given the chance.
looks like they did rule that a passed ball…guess you can’t trust the broadcasters
June 19th, 20098:09 pm
I’m pretty sure my high school park was bigger than Fenway. Or it just looks reallllly small on tv.
CK put a ride in that one. Not quite enough though.
Nice catch by JD Drew. But, still can’t stand him.
The ball is not carrying well tonight. Both teams have hit balls that seemed to die in the outfield.
I’m One of those who looks at extra at at bats, (Against what pitchers, and so on…)
CaBraves fan, when I say That Phrase, I’m joking, lol
June 19th, 20098:10 pm
If J.D Screw Was in a braves Uniform He Would’ve Loaf’ed That…!
Another bad at bat for Francoeur. Very rarely does he drive the ball.
I know you are buddy- I was too
Dice-K has settled down.
Good Call Joe S. About the KJ Analysis…!
Hmm…guess not…at least not Chip and Joe.
June 19th, 20098:11 pm
Jeff really doesn’t look like he knows what he’s doing sometimes.
That was terrible.
Come on Kelly!
Dice-K’s making it look easy now.
June 19th, 20098:12 pm
Good AB there for KJ.
Steve from OH
Kelly needs to get back to having at-bats like that.
Where was that AB the first time KJ?
or at least not Chip
How about another bomb by Nate.
June 19th, 20098:13 pm
Good at-bat, Kelly but 3 innings late.
CaBravesFan…LOL, I’m Glad We See Eye-2-Eye Partnah!
Same to ya…Damn I’m In A giddy Mood This Evening…! I listenened to too much Mariah Earlier, I guess….Combined with a Few Screwdrivers…

“When KJ is hot, he can be as hot as anyone in baseball, but it all boils down to confidence.”
So in essence when KJ is hitting, he’s confident. When he isn’t hitting, it’s all about confidence.
KJ sounds frickin’ Bi-Polar. Either you have confidence in your approach or you don’t. You might struggle or go through some rough times but confidence shouldn’t be there for six weeks then disappear for six weeks.
Put the whole frickin team on Zoloft!
June 19th, 20098:15 pm
Grown man move right there.
There We Go Nate-DAWG!!!
Yeah baby! Another dent in the old monster.
Nate will take a ball even with two strikes. That’s five two-strike balls he’s taken in the last four at-bats by my count (and one at-bat was a first-pitch homer).
And as I type that, the count-working pays off. RBI.
I think we are starting to see Nate get comfortable in Atlanta
BONK!! Off the Green Monster way to go Nate …again!!
June 19th, 20098:16 pm
I like this McLouth guy…. over .260 now.
There we go Nasty Nate!!!!!
McLouth is starting to heat up, it would appear.
Of course, Dice-K is … uh, very overpaid.
Will anyone ever give a Japanese pitcher another huge contract anytime soon?
Maybe the young kid, Dervish (?) if he comes over from Japan, but anyone else?
I think so too cabravesfan! He’s hitting his stride.
KJ looks lifeless….like a walking corpse
June 19th, 20098:17 pm
Esco comes through!
4-0 Braves?? Could this be happening? What a nice night!
Yeah, Braves. This is more like it.
Now we’re talkin’. Now we’re talkin’.
Now that he is getting settled, Nate McLouth is starting to show why the Braves traded for him. Dude has some pop in his bat. I love how he drives the ball. Plus he has speed.
Nice one Escobar. 4-0 Bravos.
There’s the magic number!
Looking good so far
Wooo hoo. Poor it on…No lead is safe at this park.
June 19th, 20098:18 pm
I love McClouth-great job Wren. KK is a bargain compared to this guy lol.
What kind of money did Dice K get?
I like the top of the lineup we still need one more Mark Tex like player to extend the lineup a little and we should be good to go.
June 19th, 20098:19 pm
Nice two out rally.
Train Wreck Bystander
June 19th, 20098:20 pm
I can’t believe Don Sutton just used the euphemism ‘a href=”http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pitch+a+tent”>pitched a tent‘ …
Frozen Smiling Robot, Sans Soul
“we still need one more Mark Tex like player to extend the lineup”
bzzzzzzt. beep beep boop!
6 years, $52 million- making $8 million this year (and that number does not include the posting fee the Sox paid just to negotiate with him, which was upwards of $51 million (which went to his Japamese club)
No More Bobby
Who are these impostors?
Why can’t the Braves play the weaker teams like they play the good ones?
June 19th, 20098:21 pm
Ha, good point.
Tomahawkin’ Same to ya
Same to me what? Sorry…
You’re giddy, eh? Oh dear…
June 19th, 20098:22 pm
Wren got himself a front row seat. Been said here a thousand times that the Braves show up for the better teams and tonight they’re at it again. But, Boston can come back in a hurry, so…
contract runs through 2012 ($10 million in ‘11 & ‘12)
June 19th, 20098:23 pm
I fear this inning.
How much does Kawakami make?
Just A thought!
I’m Not Hating On Chipper But as of right Now…
He Needs to have 2 weeks straight where he carries the team on his back in the later months, much like he did in 1999, especially if he want’s to be the self Proclaimed leader of the Nation! If That Doesn’t happen were F’d…
If Anyone Agrees with me, “Then Give Me a Hell Yeah!”
This is baseball! Let the econmy bounce back some, add in a little hype and competition for a player, and GMs will do some strange things.
Amazing performance by KK so far.
Not good to start off with a walk and, well, he got him.
June 19th, 20098:24 pm
Tomahawkin is way more fun when he’s giddy- don’t discourage him!
Wow. No wonder KK wanted to play in the States.
June 19th, 20098:26 pm
I’ve said the same story all season…The Braves come to play against the good teams…And Slack off against the Garbage teams…Here we go….!
June 19th, 20098:27 pm
He hasn’t received much love on here, but for a back of the rotation guy KK is very solid. And I kinda like having the organization in the international spotlight.

Great performance so far by KK….just great.
Nate forgot Loaf was DH on that play
KK is on. That was amazing.
Those balls all look like outs and homeruns at the same time. He’s obviously locating his pitches perfectly or some sort of pitching thing I know nothing about.
I heard they used that cash to heat their toilet seat in their stadium too…lol
Yeah…but at least we cann beat somebody!
June 19th, 20098:29 pm
Oh, and I would love for BMac to bounce one off the Green Monster right about now…
Did you just happen to have that contract in your hand? That was quick.
CaBraves Fan, Don’t Go there…!, lol
Kamakaze has Come Correct tonight, I called it! in an earlier post…
June 19th, 20098:30 pm
Does Frank Wren want to add a bat??, or does he want to be sellers????
Sorry! My bad
KK is a lot cheaper- 3 years, $23 million ($7.6 this year, $6.6 the nest 2) and I don’t believe the Braves had to post a fee to his Japanese team (not to mention how much better he’s been..)
