TnBrian,

Let’s see if Diaz is 0 fer after the game before passing final judgement. Besides, how many games has McCann-Chipper-Escobar gone 0 fer and nobody questioned. Diaz may go 0 fer on his second consecutive day starting and so its determined he can’t hit rightys.

Unlike most of you, I havent been bashing Kawakami. Since his struggles in the month of April, I feel that he has “made adjustments” and pitched better in May and June. He gives the Braves innings and gives us a chance to win.

Is he going to dominate most nights? Nope. However, as the summer continues, I see the walks going down and him getting more wins. He is adjusting to the American strike zone.

For a 4th starter, I’ll take him over the vast majority of 4th starters on other teams. In time, his contract will end up being viewed as a bargain. The going rate for a decent starting pitcher is $10 mil a year. The going rate for a really good starting pitcher is $15 mil plus.

Good way to get your first baseman hurt badly, a throw like that. Visions of one of those wrist-smashing collisions always possible, like the one that nearly ended Cliff Floyd’s career early with Montreal.

Unfortunately, no. Back then I wasn’t half the fann I am now. As the second half of 2005 progressed, I started becoming more and more int’rested, though it took me a while to get the whole “batting average” thing…haha, and I remember being happy to see Estrada catching when we went to the game on July 8 and October 6, 2005… :P

cabravesfan

Yeah that is rare…

but I do believe the official ruling was a wild pitch

“When KJ is hot, he can be as hot as anyone in baseball, but it all boils down to confidence.”

So in essence when KJ is hitting, he’s confident. When he isn’t hitting, it’s all about confidence.

KJ sounds frickin’ Bi-Polar. Either you have confidence in your approach or you don’t. You might struggle or go through some rough times but confidence shouldn’t be there for six weeks then disappear for six weeks.

Put the whole frickin team on Zoloft!

Nate will take a ball even with two strikes. That’s five two-strike balls he’s taken in the last four at-bats by my count (and one at-bat was a first-pitch homer).

And as I type that, the count-working pays off. RBI.
