That was very nice!!
Eh, not much. Just got back from Chillies, Barnes & Noble, and Target. You?
How’s KK’s stuff looking? I’m at the beach (in Marlins/Rays coverage areas) and don’t get the Braves game. All I’ve got is MLB gametracker.
June 19th, 20097:34 pm
I think The Braves will win this series 2-1 they always show up against the good teams…
That’s If the AWFense doesn’t go into creep mode…!
Couldn’t look much better…
Keep those runs coming on DK! Even if it’s one or two, every little bit is a confidence builder!
Francoeur showing some patience so far here… 2-0 count.
Poor ole Frenchy do u think he thinks he might be auditioning?
I live a block away from GA theatre and there is still smoke coming out.
when did norton’s injury change from a leg injury to a rotator cuff?
June 19th, 20097:35 pm
Salamander, good call on the Spoon comparison. Don’t know if they’ll be as great as them, but a good start.
Now 3-2 in Philly. Saweeeet.
nice frenchy. good boy!
June 19th, 20097:36 pm
Took a walk lol.
Hey, even Frenchy resisting urge to swing for fences at Fenway and let Dice-K walk him instead.
Another BB for Francoeur….huh? Seems like he has been getting more of those lately….intentional or otherwise.
Coach ( 2010 or Bust)
Frenchy walks, the apocalypse is upon us!
Dice K can’t throw a strike and KJ swings and flys out on the first pitch
I wasn’t sure if Dice-K was gonna settle in and pitch alright, but that vanished when he just walked Frenchy…WOW, he just doesn’t know. And KJ swings at the first pitch for an out. I’m mad.
KJ WTF…? Come On…!
Corky … I heard it burnt down…did it spread anywhere else on that street? That old building probably didn’t take long to go up.
What a shame, I have enjoyed many a show in that old building.
June 19th, 20097:37 pm
Jeffy, why you take 4 barrs flum me when you no take 4 barrs from any person in all histoly.
Maybe kerry johnson help me out. Tanks, kerry.
Way to be patient, Kelly!!!
Kelly…predictably had the worse AB the first time through the order. Guy should be benched for not taking some pitches with Dice-K struggling so much tonight…. Bobby? Where’s the discipline now?
McFann, your last post on page portfolio has become quite impressive…
June 19th, 20097:38 pm
That bottom 4 is one of the worst in the NL. Not to mention AL.
rob from sc
Does Kelly Johnson even pay attention to the game. He is walking the ballpark, yet he swings at the first pitch.
Wow,Frenchy’s OBP will be .300 if he keeps this up.
Gotta start somewhere I guess.
lay off the high pitch, Nate!
June 19th, 20097:39 pm
Poor ole French has been getting on base last few…….but nobody can knock him in.
My goodness, that wasn’t good.
Needless to say we need more runs.
June 19th, 20097:40 pm
chris, you forgot the International League.
I’m anti-Kelly for so many reasons right now. How can I not be?
Somebody help me here….Is Martin that bad against RHP? I don’t know, but I’m assuming the ole HOFer is going for the lefty/righty matchup with KJ? Otherwise, WTH is KJ in there??????
Wonder if that local writer was one of those who doubted Smoltz could come back from Tommy John surgery, or convert to closer, or convert back to starter from closer, or… need i go on? Maybe it won’t be the “old” Smoltz, but I would not be surprised if it is. Not in the least.
June 19th, 20097:41 pm
Driver, the walls are still up. They have firefighters on a huge latter looking in the building right now. It didn’t spread to other buildings and it was well confined. There was three helicopters flying above for most of the day which was kinda annoying for us locals. There was a lot of people crying in the streets due to memories and of course losing jobs, etc.
Bobby, catch a clue and bench Kelly. If you’re going to pull Esco for being brain dead in the field, you should pull Kelly for being brain dead at the plate!!!
TnBrian, if you were his Mom you wouldn’t be.
June 19th, 20097:42 pm
Jason Bay’s Statistics Puts Our Outfielders corps to Shame…!
I think the ball hit the wall not the fan.
June 19th, 20097:43 pm
Be careful KK….Ortiz has been performing better of late.
Come On Big Sloppy! Pop Up… Right Now!!!
JJ- I really think Martin Prado is better vs. LHP and RHP than KJ.
Anybody…big papi on roids?
June 19th, 20097:44 pm
Nice K KK!
Yeah, you swang Papi.
Yeah! There We Go Kamakaze, Big Sloppy Is Off the HGH!
dude, the roids didn’t help big papi on that one.
June 19th, 20097:45 pm
Driver, they have started pouring water/foam from high above on a very tall ladder onto the building….It has been burning for over 12 hours now.
why’s that a double necessarily? how bout punishing the hometeam fans for interfering, instead of giving them a break?
KamaKaze Do Not Hang That Slop Curve in this Ballpark!
I’m anti-French/Kelly, or anti-Frelly, to keep it simple.
Kelly caught it! ~_~
I kid….I kid!
June 19th, 20097:46 pm
Man when Kelly goes after those pop ups it gives me the heeby jeebies.
Wow The Red Sox Are Looking Like the Braves offense this Inning
Thanks for the update Corky … my friends from Athens have been informing me about this but not much details. Wow! Sad news in the Classic City. Maybe they can build a brand new and improved Georgia Theatre?
brewdawg, there’s a big difference between guessing if Smoltz can make a transition and reporting what you’ve seen with your own eyes in rehab assignments.
June 19th, 20097:47 pm
Hang in tough KK…let’s put another ‘0′ on the board here.
B-Macc, Come On!
I think He was Crossed Up…!
You may be right, I didn’t want to look it up. I’d much rather see Martin right now. But KJ is streaky and you never know when he’ll catch fire.
June 19th, 20097:48 pm
Y’all are very rude to Big Sloppy.
I hate Chip Carey. I don’t want to hate him. I just cant help it! He is the king of hype! He can’t just shut the hell up!
Pregame, his going to commercial tease is “lets see if the Braves can keep up their winning ways.” What winning ways? Ways is plural. Braves won one in a row! I could name another 3 or 4 dummy statements the guy has made tonight but ain’t gonna waste my time!
It’s a shame when I have to feel like the guy who represents my home team is by far, not even close, the WORST play by play TV guy in baseball!
Chip…. sometimes less is more. Stop talking just for the sake of talking. The more you talk the more like an idiot you sound!
Yay KK. Very solid.
Train Wreck Bystander
June 19th, 20097:49 pm
Good news – Braves score 2 runs in 1st inning.
Bad news – Braves only score 2 runs in 1st inning.
Even when it’s good, it’s bad.
KK says, “hey, who needs more runs?”
Or something like that.
Steve from OH
I wonder if the Red Sox bloggers are freaking out because they wasted that leadoff double? Will our bloggers give as much praise to KK as they would vitriol to the offense had they stranded the runner? Inquiring minds want to know.
ATL and BAL both lead going into the top of the 3rd…I’m likin’ it, I’m likin’ it.
June 19th, 20097:50 pm
Driver..they have been renovating the theater..since new ownership. Maybe now the draft keg lines will be clean so when we get a big beer (draft) no more hangovers.
Bloggers…. sometimes less is more. Stop posting just for the sake of posting. The more you post the more like an idiot you sound!
KK averaging only 15 pitches per inning, pretty good avg. for him
What ever you’re doing to keep them off the bases, keep it up!!!
Ha, thanks. Don’t know how that got started, LOL. I was first on a page on the last Blog–that doesn’t happen often, but I planned it out so it would be up there.
Oh yeah, he was definitely crossed up on that pitch.
June 19th, 20097:51 pm
Ah, crud, they did call that a PB, didn’t they?
another first pitch hack… I suppose being aggressive works sometimes, but I wish as a team the Braves lineup would slow down their at bats.
June 19th, 20097:52 pm
Chip, “popped up the first pitch to left, Mike Lowell under it.”
Mike Lowell is playing third and the ball never came close to left field.
make him work Chipper .. then look for your pitch!!
June 19th, 20097:53 pm
did they? I heard wild pitch (although it did look more like a passed ball…)
I LOVE patient ABs. Just seems like more good comes when a batter is patient. That said, hard to fault Chipper too much when he was first pitch swinging the the first AB and lined a 2b to right. Can’t have it both ways I suppose….
My point is that people have doubted Smoltz numerous times in the past, scouts included. And every time Smoltz has proven them wrong.
My god, look what a little lead does for our blogging family. Thank you God!

June 19th, 20097:56 pm
Happy Juneteenth to everyone
wow. don’t think I’ve ever seen a ball do that before
What a terrible hop. That could put an eye out.
June 19th, 20097:57 pm
“You can have the base hit, just don’t hit me in the face.”
Nice hop there for Garrett. Will look like a line drive in the box score tomorrow.
Arg…what’s up, BMac?
Gameday says PB–which was my first reaction, too. He was crossed up, though.
When’s the last time GA put two “professional” at-bats back-to-back?
“”The more you post the more like an idiot you sound!”"
Ummmm, that’s kinda the objective ain’t it… DUHH
June 19th, 20097:58 pm
I’m Not Sure If I asked U this earlier this season, but do u have
B-Macc’s Rookie Cards…?
If So, Then Which One’s, I stopped collecting cards in 2004…
Well Dice K has certainly settled in…
June 19th, 20097:59 pm
Corky – One can only hope! Either or the first beer in the rebuilt Theatre will taste sweet and hopefully in time for some Dawg games this fall.
Diaz against RHP is a completely different hitter than facing a LHP like yesterday. He looks almost pathetic in this game. See why Bobby doens’t start him against righty’s now?
he was majorly crossed up…it’s rare that you see him miss a ball that hits his chest protector…but I do believe the official ruling was a wild pitch (if I am incorrect someone please correct me!)
Whatever Dice-K was doing, he obviously settled down and stopped doing it. Either that or the Braves feel like they have enough runs and just quit again.
June 19th, 20098:00 pm
Wow Boston hasn’t even batted thru the order once have they?
BTW Has Anyone Ever Won the Home-Run Inning Contest on Bytch-Tree TV…?
Would have been nice to have somebody at second or third on than ball by Anderson.
Seems like the bounces are going our way tonight but I’m not exactly breathing easy.
Let’s go KK.
So, I’m watching the game tonight on mlb.com, so I get the home team’s telecast, the Red Sox in this instance. It’s really interesting to hear what other teams’ announcers have to say about the Braves. Anyway, tonight, the two Sox announcers are incredulous that Braves don’t seem to have a “group approach” to hitting.
From following the Braves for 30+ years now, it never occurred to me that an entire team would actually adopt an approach toward hitting in any particular game, and that it might, in fact, help the entire line-up be more effective. It sounds like a very good idea to me, however. Is this something that is common in major league baseball? If so, why aren’t we doing it?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
