Braves r a sunken ship.while getting rid of Tex Chipper should have been the one.Anybody who get on TV and call out his team mate wow what can i say. Chipper has not done nothing in the last month, but they say teams r pitcher around him. For what i see they been going rigth after him. 0 for 4 with 2 more chances today, but didn't come thur team is 0 for 16. Don't play enough small ball for me. when they do the little thing they win. take for instant the other day francouer had a runner at second why he was't bunting.See thing like that break the morale of the team. that where your head man come in he don't have a clue to what to do. If Mr Wren can't see what going on then you'll just robbing fans out of there money. Bobby Cox just done lost it. It time for him to go to go.

They get the laid back, no give a crap attitude from Bobby. They can get get blanked by a nobody one night and the next day Bobby says....you know we are ok, we just need to get some guys going and it will be alright and blah blah blah. If I wasn't producing at work, and all I heard from my Boss was, it will be OK, I would eventually believe........ it would be OK.

In the past week, Francoeur has gone 7-23 with 1 double and 5 RBIs for a .308 average. Considering what Francoeur has done for the past year and a half, he has been "one fire" for the past week. PATHETIC. Simply PATHETIC.

For the month of June, Francoeur is 11 for 44 with 1 double and 1 homer. This after his "stellar" May when he was 25 for 109 with 3 doubles and 1 homer.

For the year he has 6 doubles and 4 homers. FOR THE YEAR? This in 236 at bats.

As a life long Braves fan, I regretfully say that Braves management is not going all out to win this year. I'm not talking about potential trades or call ups from the minors. I'm referring to the refusal of Braves management to bench Jeff Francoeur. Over the past year and a half, I have become very frustrated with Francoeur's inability to drive the ball and knock in runs when the game is tight.

Yesterday's game was CLASSIC of the negative impact that Francoeur has on the Braves offense. 4th inning, runners 1st and 2nd and 2 outs, swings at first pitch and grounds out. 6th inning, bases loaded and 1 out, swings at ball 4 and grounds into a double play.

However, many of you Jeff Francoeur apologists will point out that weak a$$ infield single that he got in the 8th inning as evidence that he is coming around. Going 1-4 with an infield single is not what I call "carrying a team".

If Braves management cared about trying to win TODAY, then they would start Matt Diaz in right field and either bench Francoeur or send him to Triple A. When I say "cared", I'm not talking about "wanting" to see the Braves win. I'm talking about taking "action" to help the Braves win. Putting Francoeur in the line-up does not give the Braves the best chance to win, PERIOD.

The Braves' offensive woes lie deeper than Jeff Francoeur. However benching him would be a START to addressing those woes. No team is going to trade for Francoeur PERIOD. He has ABSOLUTELY no trade value. Main reason (besides him sucking as a hitter) is the fact that will be in line for a significant bump in salary during salary arbitration after this year. Do you really think that any team out there is going to give up anything for a hitter who not only cant hit..........but also likely to command $6-7 mil in salary arbitration after this season?

The Braves only options are to either bench Francoeur and use him as a late inning defensive replacement..........or........send him to Triple A.

Maybe I'll hold out hope that the Braves will finally bench him when Omar Infante comes back. Then again, they'll probably bench Kelly first and have Omar play second base.

you guys are looking back and remembering 2007 when kelly was awesome, and so patient... in 2007, when there was a result on a first pitch, kelly hit .400. other counts he did well in when there was a result were 1-0, 2-0, and 2-1. the single most active count for him (the one where the pitch had a result the most) was 1-2, where he didnt do well at all, hitting .184.

heres the thing...swinging at the first pitch isnt always a bad thing. kelly did it and made contact 50 times in 2007, hitting .400. that was 50 times all year that swing at pitch one resulted in something. this season, he already has 34 times where he swung at the first pitch and something happened. granted, hes hitting .333, but that 34 times already. thats way to many.

one other thing. on 0-1 counts in 2007, kelly still hit almost .400, meaning even if he swung and missed, or watched one go by, he hit next next pitch for a good average. this year, his average drops way down hitting 0-1.

yeah, his patience has definitely diminished.

DOB laid it out correctly. I have another observation. Why are all the players mentioned as possible additions to the team all slow footed white guys? Why suggest that the Braves trade for the same type players that are here now. Are there no young Black or Latino guys out there who can run, play defense and hit for power? The Braves were pretty successful when they had Black and Latino players during the 14 year run. What happened to this success formula? I wonder how Hank Aaron views this.

"Seriously-what would be accomplished if DOB, Carroll or any other writer were to accuse or browbeat the management and players for quotes they a. didn’t want to make or b.Were just plain dumb to begin with? Do you want information or would you prefer they be locked out of the clubhouse or had their questions ignored? Do you seriously believe Bobby would turn to David and say-”Damn, I’ve been waiting for someone to ask a question with balls. We suck, I need to retire"

One thing at a time

What I expect Cox would say would be "Hee-Haw"

And what good it would be is that at least in one place we'd be getting it told like it is, instead of the donkey-ass excuses and bull-crap we now get all the time from the Braves and most of the time from the AJC

"No, this just isn’t a very good team. No spark. No fire."

DOB - the thing is this COULD be (and most likely WOULD be) a very good team - in the right hands

No spark, no fire - that's the fault of the leadership

Fire Bobby Cox TODAY!
