Daniel: Thanks for reminder on Mos Def, heard it’s his best work in a decade. Gotta get that one.

Phoenix: The CD is good, but not as nearly as good as some reviews proclaim, at least in my opinion. Pretty lightweight.

You guys want to hear a great, rockin’ album, the The Thermals’ Now We Can See. Everything they’ve done is great, but the new one … tasty. Very strong.

Jon (no Original Jon): The thing with Huddy was this spring, not last year. Bowl of bitterness to go?

andersI have to tell you I’ve seen a lot of him this year with the Yanks and he’s nothing special.

that is in no way backed up by his performance this season, or in his career.

swisher’s .932 OPS this year is 100 points higher than kotchman or kotsay have ever totaled, so im not sure where that comparison fits.

he is getting on base at a chipper jonesian rate, has good power, and plays several positions (from what i can tell, he plays a + LF)

swisher is a good player, and no evidence i can find about him says anything else. if by watching him, youve decided he is nothing special, but melky is, then youd be smart not to trust your observations.

If Swisher is getting pitched to in the Yankee lineup then he has one heck of an eye for the strike zone. Guy is hitting .255 AVG with a .394 OBP…… .394! He’s drawn 42 BB’s in about 226 AB’s. The Braves could definitely use the guy. Not saying he would be my first choice, but depending the trade cost and who else is even available, Swisher wouldn’t be a bad pickup at all.

the radiohead show was awesome. they played “paranoid android” towards the end of the show and it started to rain a little bit just as the chorus was kickin in “rain down, rain down, c’mon rain down..” would love to see them again.
