Pinch-hitting Blanco instead of McCann is the icing on the cake.

Well, todays loss was a tough one, but the kids are playing really hard. They are playing hard and hitting the ball hard. Problem here is that ball is not finding any holes. But I can tell you something, this group of kids is the hardest working group of kids I have been around ever. Sometimes they get to the stadium at 4am in the morning to work on their swings. Last night JF didnt leave the ballpark after the game. He stayed here up all night, took 6 969 swings in order to be a better hitter, and it is paying off, he has been on base a lot today.

I meant Nate McLouth, not McClouth.

Folks the Braves are still in the hunt, like it or not, They are what they are. The Pirates match up well with the Braves and have been for the last few seasons. And playing them just days after the trade didn’t help either.

Vazquez is 1-4 with 3.66 ERA in his past seven home starts, with 63 strikeouts and eight walks in 46-2/3 innings.

He has two 12-strikeout games at Turner Field this season, and if the Braves lose this one they will have lost both of them. In those two games, Vazquez had 24 strikeouts and one walk in 14 inings in those two games.

It matters most when you get your hits, even if they are singles, and the Braves just can’t get them at the right (clutch) moments.

Their pitching will keep most games close, but until the hit better in clutch situations, they’ll just be a .500 team.

Because the games will always be close, it’s just the law of averages that helps them to remain at .500.

Can’t blame Soriano for this. He’s been dominant all year and was bound to give up a run or two sooner or later.

You could have a rotation of Maddox, Smoltz, Glavine (in their prime) with I don’t care….Clemmons and whoever else you think is one of the greatest pitchers of all time and this team would still be a .500 ball club.

I look forward to the day that I don’t have to watch Franceour, KJ, Diaz/Anderson. Maybe we won’t be any better but I’ve seen enough of this- really not much fun at all.

KJ hits a near double down the first base line. Laroche makes a good stop to keep it from going into the outfield. KJ hustles down the line and beats the damn throw. KJ called out anyway.

Not saying it would make a difference, but if you need 2 runs to just TIE, why the he!! are you pinch hitting Blanco for Ross??? It’s like you’re spotting yourself an out on purpose?? You have Anderson, who just homered off the guy pitching last night, on the bench and McCann. Why not pinch hit Anderson for Ross, hope he or KJ gets on the pinch hit McCann after Johnson for the pitcher?? Cause you know Blanco ain’t getting on.

Quality start after quality start wasted. On days when Chipper or McCann arent playing, it is virtually impossible for the Braves to win. That is why I am so “down” on Franceour. When McCann is resting on a day like today, the Braves need some power from Franceour, not punch and Judy singles.

I think that Wren was so freaked out on how bad the pitching was last year that he didnt notice that without Tex the offense was horrible last year also. He thought we will win games 2-1 not lose them. When you play in this division and look at the lineups I think the Nats have a better lineup then ours. We are the San Francisco Giants all pitching no hitting. OOOPS I forgot we got swept by them so I cant even make that comparison.

I mean really, normally I feel like we are going to do it, but lately, I dont feel that way anymore, because as long as TP and his swing at the first pitch you see mentality is the hitting coach, this offense will continue to suck. Thus resulting in a sub .500 year. I bet Derek Lowe wishes he would have signed with the Mets now.
