Guess I wrote about Soriano at the right time (yesterday). Ouch….
Maholm could sing similar hard-luck blues as Vazquez: The lefty now has a 1.67 ERA in four starts against the Braves, and only one win for it. His team has scored one run while he’s been in each of his past three starts against the Braves.

Braves are a sub 500 team with this outfield. They’ll win about 76-80 games. The Pirates are just as good as the Braves, and alot cheaper payroll lol

You had to know this was coming when McClouth didn’t get the runner in from 3rd. It was the over-used Soriano, but if it wasn’t him, it would have been any of them out of the pen.
Also, the Braves continue to let people steal bases and that will come back to hurt you.

Great… the Pittsburgh effing Pirates come to town fresh off of our ripping their hearts out via the trade for McLouth… and we’re gonna split with them. When the HELL will somebody be held accountable (Terry Pendleton) for this horrendous letdown-after-letdown? We have starting pitching that rivals ANY of the premiere teams in the league, and we’re middling at .500 because “Coach” Terry can’t fix the guys who aren’t hitting. Geez, if it’s LOYALTY, make the blob a bench coach and GET us a hitting coach that, I don’t know, can COACH hitting!!!

Im done with the braves this year they make a move and its the same thing. This is nothing but a .500 club. When they hit they cant pitch and when they pitch they cant hit. This team is frustrating and embarassing see what the mets and phillies do to pittsburgh. We are nowhere near the class of the phillies and mets both of those teams have passed our team by. Maybe its time we shake up this franchise dare I say do bobby what we have done maddux, glavine and smoltz and tell them its time we move on.

DAMNIT, its not like you can fault Bobby for bringing in Soriano because he has been lights out lately, but with two outs and first base open, you do not Intentionally walk LaRoche, make him beat you, which, during the series, he was only 2-13 or something like that. Ian Curtis, you’re likely right. They get good pitching and no hitting to back them up. They get a game or two over five hundred and slide back to five hundred. I had hoped that good pitching could carry a sub-par offensive team but I don’t think GREAT pitching could carry the little bit of offense they get.

Can’t throw a shut out every time and that’s what it takes for this team to win. No shame for Javy or Soriano. Starter with under a 3.50 and a reliever with under one.
More and more I am amazed at how many games we won last year with lousy pitching. Even with superb pitching, we are, at best, a .500 club.

This is astonishing: Vazquez is 2-2 with 2.56 ERA in his past seven starts, with 55 strikeouts and five walks — that’s FIFTY-FIVE STRIKEOUTS and FIVE WALKS in 48-2/3 innings.
team will be 3-4 if it loses today, and that includes four consecutive losses in his last four starts.

It’s not Soriano’s fault. Those were some pretty good pitches on perfect locations, but some good piece of hitting from the Bucs gave them 2 runs.

What a waste of a great pitching performance. Ross never got Soriano off of that outside corner. I kept waiting for him to throw the slider at Laroche’s shoulder and have it snap across the plate for strike 3. You just can’t stay in one part of the plate over and over. This team is what it is. A .500 team no matter how good the pitching is. Just can’t score.

The hit off of Andy LaRoche was just lucky hitting guys…can’t really be upset at Soriano for that one… sometimes the other team just gets lucky.
Like yesterday, a loss here falls squarely on the offense…can not be upset at pitching.

Nothing against Soriano but sooner or later you have to give your pitchers something to really pitch for.
The Chophousers are really suffering in the face of another loss.

This team cannot friggin hit to save it’s friggin life and they are about to drop 2 to the Pirates and even that series.
Playoff chances are basically nonexistant , but I’m not sure why this upsets me. We knew what they were before this year started.
I’m not sure how many good pitching performances have been wasted but they can count this one too.
I’m really tired of hearing the excuses for it, we ran into a buzz saw what have you.
This team, the team and farm system and the guys that were brought here by the management cannot friggin hit to save thier friggin lives and it’s painfully sad to watch these guys struggle day in and day out.
