I have the feeling we will have better luck 2nd time trough the order.
And I know Ross just K’ed, but think God we don’t have Corky Miller anymore. He was the 2nd worst Brave ever, right after Albie Lopez.

Both Frenchy and Esco have frequent brain farts, we just criticize Frenchy more becasue of his hitting futility. Esco is young and exciting and is a clutch hitter but, he makes just as many bonehead mistakes in judgement and Frenchy.

One of the many things I’ll never understand about Francoeur is how someone who supposedly could play a speed position in football and still appears to have at least decent speed could be completely incapable of ever stealing a base. Not that that was necessarily the specific time to try, but I mean, ever.

Elephant-in-the-room Dept: Why isn’t Bobby Cox held fully accountable for Yunel Escobar’s non-stop bonehead plays?
Baserunning mistakes daily….braindead play last night allowing Monroe to score 3rd run….Escobar tosses glove up in the air after fielding lapses like a little leaguer…no questioning Escobar’s awesome skills, but when does Cox pull him aside and say, “kid grow up or sit down.”
More to the point, does Cox even know Escobar more interested in stylin’ (tinted hair) than being a winning MLB shortstop?

The Braves look flat-out terrible right now.
I wasn’t too impressed with those first two wins in the series to begin with. We probably wouldn’t have won them if we were playing a number of other teams.
Vasquez as usual is throwing a lot of pitches. The other guy is getting a lot of help what with the lazy fly balls and slow grounders early in the count.
The bullpen is going to have to be ready sooner or later. Bobby’s not going to let him go that far I’m sure.

You have to download and install ‘TvAnts player’ (click on the ‘Downloads’ tab, at the top). I think it is virus-free (i installed it a month and so far i havent had issues, my anti-virus program deemed it safe). so install at your own risk.

Pretty nice meal. Grilled Chicken Salad, lovely company, profanity-laced diatribe whispered to me by candlelight. Volume escalated a tad when informed she’d spit food in face… There were veins popping out in her forehead I’d never seen before. Red as a beet too. She even threatened to DELIBERATELY spit food in face. Hell, I got kinda skeered…
Cutting lunch short for Braves didn’t sit very well to say least.
No, I don’t like sports more than her! Yup, that’s what I told her…

To clarify, I should say that Javy is pitching very well. There’s no reason why he couldn’t be a number one starter in most rotations.
If we had any offense and consistency and were mentally tough we’d be a darn good team. Unfortunately, we have a great pitching staff and only three or four above average hitters and a solid back end of the bullpen…
Where am I going with this?
I cannot freaking believe Kelly just struck out on that.

You know, you guys making sarcastic comments about the blog “turning on somebody” act as though, Jeff just got called up last week, or that Schafer was “hated” by braves fans.
Jeff and KJ have had PLENTY of time to show “what they can do” on a regular basis. So to say people have turned on them is silly. People are growing TIRED of them.
When a team claims they are going to be a contender, the fans certainly are within their “right” (whatever that is), to bitch and gripe about guys that cause them NOT to win. Like Jeff does. Like KJ’s glove occasionally does. Like G. Anderson’s glove (and bat) does. Like Schafer’s AB’s were (though, he’ll be back and improved, and his glove was fine). Like Chipper’s injuries do.
This “turning” on Jeff has been 2 years in the making. It didn’t happen overnight.
Besides, how can anybody “turn” on Canizares, when he’s replacing a guy that was batting .098? Do you know HOW BAD he’s going to have to be, before the blog “turns on him”? Lets put it this way. Bobby will NEVER give him that many AB’s for it to get that bad.

These are the times that I wish Omar was healthy, Kelly is just too damn streaky. He’s like crackhead up there at the plate. His highs are high, but lows are gutter level.

I just tuned into the game, and, damn! is Javy dealing. He’s going to have to have a good game to get the W against Maholm, who has been probably the Pirates’ best pitcher this year.
I see that Francœur has the only hit of the day for the Bravos, and Greg Norton has made the “hang-nail” trip to the DL to clear his BA off the books going into a really tough stretch.

Question that has nothing to do with baseball,
I am expecting my first child here in a bout a month and plan to be there for the delivery. My mother in-law and sister in-law will also be providing support on and around the clock basis. Do I need to be at the hospital all day the next day after the baby is born. I will be there after work, but I don’t want to burn the off-days, especially if there are more Braves day games.
Am I wrong or am I thinking logically?
