I liked living in Marin and “just visiting” SF by way of the ferry from Larkspur (yeah, the one that goes right by San Quentin).
My ex and I were walking down in SF one night and came upon this guy in a toga sitting in the lotus position whilst looking directly into the window of a restaurant – there were patrons at a table right on the other side of the glass. On his lap he had a cafeteria-type plastic tray on which sat 3 cooked refrigerator-dough biscuits (think Pillsbury dough boy). Sometimes things downtown were a bit too Zen (or something) for my taste.
Maybe Charlie has “Canine Flu”??

“Chip Caray’s dog is named Tinkerbell.”
It’s a chihuahua and he carries it around with him wherever he goes.
Looks like anderson doesnt care out there
Charlie left with tightness in right hamstring
I’ve always wondered about that, Mixxo. My dog is on a strict schedule so I know she could make it thru a game of any length, I guess most people who don’t know their dogs schedule probably don’t attend bark in the park.
Man, Naw-Ton IS an Automatic Out…Cheese-Whiz!
Pay your bills NOAH PEEL, we’re tired of supporting you. A-hole.
Yeah, I’d say that too, DOB. Poor Charlie.
Bobby needs to keep batting GA and Norton 5 and 6 to insure that Chipper and McCann get very little to hit, and so that the Braves score no runs! WOW!!!!
man norton has had an awful season, .105 batting average
June 10th, 20097:45 pm
Norton should be either around or under .100 by the time the game is over. Hurry back utility first basemen!!!
What a catch. Francoeur will be sure to mention how he almost had a hit there.
“Sometimes things downtown were a bit too Zen (or something) for my taste.”
But you can always count on downtown Atlanta being clean, safe and free of panhandlers. Atlanta – jewel of the South!
Frenchy put a charge into that one but to the wrong part of the ball park…
June 10th, 20097:46 pm
francoeur’s days as a braves should be limited im tired of his crap
Kid’s a ballplayer that McCutcheon….yessireee!
That long out by Frenchy garauntees he’s in the lineup for another week
Bobby thinks that we should now have the black hole in our lineup at the 5,6,7 spots instead of the 6,7,8 spots. HOF manager my butt!!!
June 10th, 20097:47 pm
Do the doggies have a place to poop at The Ted?
Yes, right field.
Norton is pathetic.
I only visit Atlanta the same as I only visited SF.
Loaf and Failcouer total of 3 pitches seen (all swings).
June 10th, 20097:48 pm
and JJ has looked progressively looked worse this season. All-star? I think not.
Greg Norton is batting .105
Maybe he should find out what Charlie Morton ate for lunch and order some.
Tomahawkin…………I hear you. Have you ever watched ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ on HBO on Friday nights? I’m totally with him on the marriage thing. I tell my gay friends (yes it is possible for straight guys to have gay friends) that they are crazy for wanting the legal right to get married. Being single has it’s advantages. I could never imagine myself being tied down to one female, and only having sex with one person for the next 20-30 years. Yuk, lol.
morgan has both hits for the pirates.
June 10th, 20097:49 pm
Tightness in Right Hamstring, yeah. Now, tell me, which ailment would you like to read about being afflicted with in tomorrow’s Pittsburgh papers – a hamstring tightness or explosive diarrhea? Charlie will live to play again. He looked good.
Morgan is killing B’s. Will be at 2B shortly.
Norton is killing Braves, too. Hopefully, he will be down the road shortly.
JF did make good contact a few minutes ago. Not every CF would have caught that ball.
MFin04 he is a Hall of Fame manager and maybe you should try sex with woman youu effin jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get aclue MF’er. If ignorance is bliss you must be one happy mofo!!!!!!!!!!!
anyone know the mets and phillies score. need phillies to lose for chance to gain ground
June 10th, 20097:50 pm
Dangit…leave BMac’s head alone!
Least the Reaper isn’t here…
not jurrjens day! whats worse is we dont have a good lineup from 5-9 hitters.
June 10th, 20097:51 pm
Phillies Mets tied at 0 Bottom 3rd
If we could get Morgan, Sanchez and McCutcheon out, we’d be ‘aight!
Louisville brave……….great posting. Franceour’s “hard out” bought him at least another week in the line-up.
Chop It Up All-star
JJ not looking sharp early.
Good article DOB. It IS very interesting how he uses Gonzo and Soriano. They just need to get Moylan worked out.
I still say this team can’t get into the playoffs unless one of two things happens.
1-KJ or Francouer starts hitting, and even Garret. You can’t have three guys in the lineup giving NOTHING.
2-Get a big bat to hit HRs. You can’t win without a few more HRs. You can’t count on 3 hits an inning. Milwaukee has a low batting average but lead the league (or are 2nd) in runs scored.
Strikeout and double play, come on JJ!
June 10th, 20097:52 pm
“I could never imagine myself being tied down to one female, and only having sex with one person for the next 20-30 years. Yuk, lol.”
I will co-sign to that…! Being Single Rules, especially when you go to bars and clubs…I couldn’t imagine being Married with Children at age 25
Plus Al Bundy Taught Me All the Reasons as to why not to seek marriage…He is my mentor…
BTW Double J doesn’t look good so far…
JJ really looks pretty poor tonight. It’ll be a miracle if he gets out of the 5th.
DP would be huge
DOB or anyone-
A question please. If the Nats could not sign Strasburg, my understanding is that they will draft #2 next year. So, if they keep stinking this year and get the worse record, would they draft #1 and #2 next years?
Kellie and Marissa
June 10th, 20097:53 pm
We’re two teenage girls and we think Paul Lentz is groovy.
Paul, how can two girls attract a sophisticated guy like you?
June 10th, 20097:54 pm
Good play Norty.
Whatcha think haters?
JJ is just not on. WAY too many balls in the dirt
OMG Is that Dude Behind the Backstop wearing a Cle. Browns Jersey…?
Man I’d be ashamed to be wearing that…That’s Loyality!
June 10th, 20097:55 pm
larf @7:53 pm
JJ likely to be at 100 pitches by the end of the 5th. Averaging 20 per inning so far.
60 pitches already for JJ, god awful.
Loaf and Failcouer….Whoever came up with that = Priceless:)
Yip…Braves Corner OF strike FEAR into the opposition I tell you!
Braves better beat the Pirates scrub 5th starter. Time to “man up” now. Come on Offense!
jurrjens needs to give braves some innings. i feel a jeff bennent appearance in the future.
President, He-Man Greg Norton haters club
June 10th, 20097:56 pm
He’s batting .105, he’s slow, he looks like a dork and he’s constipated.
JJ wouldn’t have to throw so many pitches if the ump would call some third strikes on the corners!!!
DCBrave – American League drafts first next year
What was that about JJ getting out of innings quickly? Hmm. Hope Medlen’s ready to go another 3 tonight.
When did Medlin pitch last? PLEASE get out of this inning!
Double J, has is fighting it against an AAA offense, Not Good!
We can’t have him struggling like this the next 2 weeks!
June 10th, 20097:57 pm
Get him out Bobby, he’s done.
Why did he cut it off?
What was Norton doing?
Um? JJ? What was that?
AJC stop highlighting these guys in the paper on how great they are; everytime you do they have games like this!!
Well you had to wonder if his performance was going to continue given how many runners he was stranding. Reality unfortunately might be catching up with JJ.
June 10th, 20097:58 pm
That throw woulda never got him at home….sorry Joe.
We Need The Offense Bad Tonight!!!
Our Offense Can’t sit and try to wait for a rally in the 8th And 9th Innings!
What did norton do?
JJ not on tonight, he’s laboring so far
NEED AN OUT
Wait? That was Norton? What the hell was he doing on the pitcher’s mound?
Maybe Braves have another comeback win in em?
Not sure what Norton did, but it didn’t matter, McLouth hesitated in CF and had no chance throwing the runner out.
“What was Norton doing?”
Uh, I dunno.
In the words of the customer in the suit and tie at All-American Burger right before Brad got fired …
This is not the best game Jair has pitched.
June 10th, 20097:59 pm
Good Stab Hoss!!!
Double J will be out by 5…Not Good!
mets took lead 1-0
He was going to be safe
1-4 hitters have to carry the load yet again and Medlen is gonna have to pick up JJ. Lets just hope figures it out, his last few starts have been sub-par to say the least.
June 10th, 20098:00 pm
I wont be surprised if JJ goes on the DL with shoulder fatigue or something.I hope not but
His last 3 outings have been uncharacteristic of him. I am not sure of velocity but control is usually quite strong.
You should know your teammates voices….That can’t be an excuse.
its possible that braves can come back. only if 5-8 hitters contribute somehow
Bullpen is going to get some work tonight.
Somebody yelled ‘Cut it!’ …..right?
June 10th, 20098:01 pm
In fairness the Norton cutting it off failed in comparison to the fact Nate double clutched.
Kelly is terrible, really. He is MUCH better than this…..
Atticus – Medlen pitched 3 innings in the 15 inning affair on Monday.
June 10th, 20098:02 pm
So maybe he could give us one or two?
“JJ not on tonight, he’s laboring so far.”
Perhaps he’s tired after catching a “red-eye” flight to and from SF last night to sift through the ladies?
On a side note. With JJJ having a tough go of it, it almost assures us of a Bennett sighting later in the game. Can’t wait.
Yeh not sure what McLouth was doing there, should have come up throwing. Anyone else notice that this offense sucks? No way we score runs with our 5-8 hitters, they all suck equally!
June 10th, 20098:03 pm
The Braves just look like they don’t care tonight.
Didn’t JJ hurt his shoulder like 3 weeks ago…it was his left though.
June 10th, 20098:04 pm
Yeah There We Go Nate-DAWG!!!!
I like this McClouth guy.
McLouth can hit…and run. Wow! Nice!
If Norton gets 3 more ABs and goes 0 for 3, he will be batting below .100.
nice hit McLouth. It’s a matter of time before the Braves start rocking this guy.
Let’s get one Yu!
mcclouth gets on, see if we can bring him home
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
