My bad….that hit the yellow line. Double for McCann.
Hugh E. Reckshin
If it wasn’t for McFann’s doubles crusade, that would’ve been a homer.
Look at it Blue!
I stand corrected. It shouldn’t be a homer. It hit the yellow and came straight back. I thought it hit the yellow, then the wall behind it, but it did not. Saw that on replay.
rob from sc
Carey said the yellow line means nothing, is that true
Here We Go Again…! Time “To Live and Die With GA”…
Come On Loaf!!!
Frank from KS
David Berryhill any relation to former Brave Damon Berryhill?
PUT A SLOPE ON THAT DANG WALL!!!!!
*sloping towards the stands
Hey, we’re getting a replay!
Why wouldn’t you look at the replay? If you don’t know…go look at the dang replay!!! Don’t talk about it!!!
It hit on the yellow. No homer.
I hope everybody is doing their all-star voting. I know it’s dumb but Yadier Molina better not be starting for the national league. That can’t happen.
And Yunel is about 300 times better than Jose Reyes. Jimmy Rollins sucks and all Hanley Martinez is going to do is strike out four times. Not that he would bat four times but you know…
That was a mother trucking homerun. Give me a break.
GA needs to get a freaking hit for the first time in his life.
June 10th, 20098:50 pm
If we lose the appeal, do we lose a timeout……..
Steve from OH
Good stuff, Dave! Keep it coming, por favor.
Regardless about how one feels about Frank Wren~ One things for certain!!! He has put together one of the most exciting Braves teams in Quite some time!!! Personally~ I think he handled the “Glavine situation?” just like Glavine would have handled it, had roles been reversed. I doubt very seriously if he is done for the year! I look for him to “Do” something about the Frenchy situation when the time is right! I’m lookin for another Mclouth type deal.
As far as searching the “net” for pics or anything for that matter? Hope this helps?
Garret will pop uo here
I am tired of the supporting the braves
crap, its up to garrett anderson to drive mac in. i give him a 10% chance that it will happen.
They got it right.
June 10th, 20098:51 pm
Cool…a replay. I don’t like the replays, but…
Ah, I knew the call would stand. Oh well–RBI DOUBLE!!!!!
No worries. Here comes Loaf.
Took them longer to decide to review it than it took them to actually review it
LOL, still can’t believe they pitched to McCann there, makes absolutely no sense. All-Star catcher, or washed up old Loaf? Hmm…
June 10th, 20098:52 pm
Wow. Another guy with a crappy ERA making the Braves look like they need seeing eye dogs to bat. Of course it doesn’t help to have 5 automatic outs in a row at the back of the batting order. Very frustrating team.
pinch hit with Diaz here
maybe Diaz will come in for GA
My Loaf Percentage is 20% So I’m gonna raise ya 10!!!
Loaf will blow it.
Loafing to the plate
If it had been any other hitter than McCann, they would not have gone for the replay. But, they knew that the blog would be hearing about this for months from McFann if they didn’t review.
Loaf is due for a big hit. Of course so is Greg Norton….Jeff Francoeur…Kelly Johnson….
June 10th, 20098:53 pm
i lurnt too blag reall gud at jawja perry meter kollitch. i never thawt i cud get a kollitch dagrey. butt luk at me now!
C’mon Loaf, think we can show a little intensity here …..maybe?
loaf will blow it.
Hugh E. Reckshin @ 8:49–
Hey, at least it wasn’t a matter of fair-or-foul and they ruled it foul.
i really miss Infante
The thing is, the Pirates bullpen is overworked right now. Other than their closer (who will only pitch should the Pirates be leading in the bottom of the 9th), their best relievers that they will be bringing in now will all be pitching at least 3 days in a row. And this is only the 6th inning.
Something about Greg Norton
June 10th, 20098:54 pm
“Loaf is due for a big hit. Of course so is Greg Norton”
He’s due all right. He’s constipated.
So, Morton left with a “tight right hamstring” according to the report on the radio.
I wonder what they pay PTV’s “JJ?” Is this a full time job for him? Annoying.
Andersin makes me miss Mondesi
June 10th, 20098:55 pm
I’m glad Wooley has the stuff, because he’s a real knucklehead. I guess if he gets his head on straight and gets some more experience he’ll take off…
I’m most excited about Mychal Jones. He’s a little old for my liking but he seems like a steal.
When I saw Hefflinger’s picture, he kind of had a Corey Hart-type body. He definitely has to have some untapped power potential.
98 mph fastball on Berryhill? I’ll take that.
I think we saw some of Wren’s fingerprints on the draft with speed being emphasized.
i really miss Infante -Rob
Man you’re not kiddin.’
a typical garrett anderson at bat. lazy hack at the ball.
once again, Cox is showing his brilliance…
Keeping GA in
i called it.
SEND “The Professional Hitter known as Loaf” A..s Down NOW!!!
Three runs? Not a chance in hell!!!
LOVE that anderson LOVE HIM!!! *eye twitch*
At least Frenchy is hitting double what Norton is. But add Frenchy and Norton together you get Chipper’s average.
Maybe Anderson has his “annual” Braves homer already??
Booo! Hissss! GA has looked very bad in this game.
June 10th, 20098:56 pm
we all knew that was coming. didn’t we
beavis and butthead
I love it when McFann types “Hugh E. Reckshin”. heh heh.
Chop It Up All-star
Man, Garrett is getting a little hard to defend.
Sorry DOB but you are wrong on that one. The yellow line is treated exactly as the foul lines. The ball hits on it and it is in fair territory. Therefore if it hits the yellow and lands in play it is considered a live ball. If it hit and goes over it is considered a HR.
Is it just me or do the Braves seem to pop out more than other clubs. I mean, damn. Every other out is a pop up to short or 3b.
Hell, Loaf Makes Be Miss The Old Brian Jordan, Fo Real!
I am not even asking for a power hitting outfielder. I just want somebody who makes consistent hard contact.
Casey Kotchman will make this lineup much better
Is it just me or is Garrett Anderson the second coming of Raul Mondesi?
June 10th, 20098:57 pm
No worries: next inning = Norton, Frenchy, KJ, and if anyone gets on…. pitcher.
(well, if anybody gets on, I guess we could see Diaz. But… if any of those guys gets on, we’ll probably also see the Lord.)
tomahawkin, that was not a good bet. i will let you double down
You’re not kidding, either!
That observation about relievers is brilliant.
All of us fair-weather, non-brave fans would have NEVER guessed that their bullpen has been overworked
Thank you for enlightening me oh great one.
How much longer do we have to put up with the Garrett Anderson project? This is getting really old, no pun intended.
How can Garret Anderson expect to hit the ball stepping in the bucket? He looks like a little leaguer at times.
“No Chance In Hell!!!”
Damn Son, You sound Like the Old Vince McMahon…!
Rob I was thinking that the Mondesi – Anderson was more appropriate than with JF. How many meaningful at bats has he blown? It seems like he ends more innings/semi-rallys for us.
Diaz should play everyday
Your current averages from the 5-8 hitters …
I don’t want to say that’s punchless, but … they are quite reminiscent of the 1977 Braves. That team was not good.
June 10th, 20098:58 pm
The outfielders not named Nate are 0-5 with now 2 TWO rallies killed.
Top of the lineup will get one more at bat this game. they got to capitalize. need bullpen to step it up and keep it a one run game.
Come On Easy-E….Make It 1-2-3!
Good call rob from sc. Pop up. Tired of watching GA bat. Jordan S. needs to get healthy, turn it around, and take over one of these corner spots. I’d prefer taking over for GA than Frenchy, simply bc of the age and defense. But I’m not saying anything everyone else hasn’t already.
why is bobby taking jj out, he is due 4th next inning. awful move bobby
wow, every hitter 5-9 tonight has a .300 OBP or lower! unreal…meanwhile Diaz watches
PS–McCann, who has 136 ABs, is now one RBI behind Francoeur, who has 216 ABs.
Our bullpen is sooo clutch isn’t it?
June 10th, 20098:59 pm
JJ was already at 111 pitches
I thought the yellow liine was called the homerun line indicating if it hits it it is a HR
Stinger Splash…yeah, that isn’t too good. Ugh.
The way this season has gome, if Norton, Frenchy and KJ all get on base our pinch hitter to line into a triple play.
Hugh E. Reckshin makes no sense. Sounds like Huey Reckshin. It should be Hugh G. Reckshun.
I’m Not Gonna Double Down On the “Professional Hitter Known as Loaf”
I have a better Chance Of Getting Some From Mariah!!!
eric will blow this game
June 10th, 20099:00 pm
That Sucks!!!! Chug Chug Chug!!! LOL
LOL, did you see that guy break his beer and then guzzle it? Hilarious
BTW, works better as Hugh G. Rection.
wonder how many pitchers it will take to get through this 7th inning?
Loaf Garret bloggin from the OF next to McLouth(I think that's his name)
I actually gave a bit of emotion after I popped out. How is dat not good enough for you all?? Jurrjens gets a loss or no decision…..cry me a river! You see dat dude spill his beer??
We pull a pitcher after 111 pitches. I heard a couple days ago that Cy Young once pitched 2 complete games in ONE day.
June 10th, 20099:01 pm
I am beginning to fear for the saftey of Francoeur, Norton, Anderson, and Johnson. McLouth, Chipper, Esco and Chipper are doing everything possible to carry this team. The starting rotation has been awesome for the most part, and EOF, Soriano, and Gonzalez have been outstanding. Those four (to be nice sucky players) need to be beaten in the clubhouse, or left behind on a roadtrip. It is hard to get on a role when you are playing with 4 hitters and 5 automatic outs. If we are in contention in September, and Heyward is tearing the cover off the ball, you need to call him up.
McCann is fabulous. He is awesome.
McFann don’t you agree?
After the first night…the Braves really have contained that McCutchen kid.
nm my 9pm. Original Jon beat me to it.
June 10th, 20099:02 pm
I am tired of the supporting the braves…………Jurrgens had reached the 111 pitch mark. There is no sense in having him go out there, considering the Braves are down 2-1.
June 10th, 20099:03 pm
A little knob action on that one, eh.
Good Break, I will Take That!!!
June 10th, 20099:04 pm
Norton almost makes a Braves fan want Lockhart back on the team.
I have never seen that before! O-Flaherty hit the knob of the bat and the ball bounced into play. McCann throws the runner out at first with no advance on the guy at second.
I have never seen that before. LOL!
we need to introduce Garret Anderson to Tonya Harding and her friends. Seriously he is terrible to watch.
Note to Frank Wren – if you sign old washed up veterans, Bobby Cox is going to play them.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
