who was was that, JJ or frenchy??
Bobby is the worst manager in baseball. Have to get tossed there. You don’t bring Bennett in, down only 2 runs in the 7th. Just a horrible move. Bennett should be, at best, in AAA.
Bad enough that we suck so bad, but can’t even get the umps to do their jobs properly.
I’m shocked Cox didnt get tossed.
I’m certainly no expert.
My opinions are based on fact..
However, I will grant you this. Cox is a sure Hall-of-Famer. That there is no doubt. He did a WONDERFUL job keeping everything together during the stretch run.
HOWEVER his time has certainly passed.
WHY DON’T YOU DO ME A FAVOR
Why don’t you tell me what WONDERFUL managerial decisions COX has made this year that has helped this team.
How has his handling of the bullpen HELPED this team.
How has his handling of the lineup HELPED this team.
How has his handling of Franceour HELPED this team.
How has his during game strategy HELPED this team…..
BATTER UP, I’m waiting for your response.
Remember….turnabout’s fair play

I just turned on this game – R U KIDDING ME?
So Cox lovers?
How can you expect this team to keep a fire going when Cox CANT EVEN GET FIRED UP over a blown call when the Braves are struggling?
It takes losers to accept losing like this.
Somehow I can’t get too excited about expecting a .250 hitter to ignite the offense.
yeah I’m positive about Hanson and all but Jojo didn’t give up 3 homers in his debut…but he did face the Padres
June 7th, 20093:35 pm
I don’t think I remember bobby cox making this many games without gettin thrown out
I don’t even know how you make such a poor call. That was ridiculous.
Oh and ps? I hate Jeff Bennett.
Irrational Braves Fan
The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Tom Hanson the savior! Nevermind, Tommy Hanson is a bust (after six innings of big-league work)! Bring back Tom Glavine! Trade Hanson for Peavy! The Braves will never win another game! Bobby Cox is the anti-Christ!
Pryguy. You are right. You are fighting a losing battle. Just like the braves as long as we have Bobby Cox.
I’ve seen little league umps make worse calls than that. What did the unpire see?
Bennett is absolutely horrible. I cant understand how in God’s green earth he manages to stay in the big leagues. He must be related to someone in the main office or he has some major black mail material on frank wren.haha
We need instant replay for things like this, not just homeruns only. Umpires do have some blind spots where they can’t really see.
hey!!! is all good we have KENSHIN KAWAKAMI (call me KENSHIN!!!) tomorrow.
How on earth does a major league umpire miss a call like THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Come on Bennett! Please, don’t walk this guy, just make some good-tough pitches.
Braves Fan 88
Folks, Hanson has a live arm and excellent stuff. Let’s give him a few more starts before pronouncing him a bust, shall we?
Uh, nope let’s don’t. We were told this guy was ready to go. Not only that, we were told he could get big league hitters out better than Tommy Glavine. None of that was true and we can all see it now.
Wonder what ol Frank Wern thinking about his screwed up team rigth now LOL
June 7th, 20093:36 pm
What the heck happened in the 6th to Hanson?
What an awful job by Bennett there tsranding that runner at 3rd. Unreal!
Bobby Cox has got to go. He is the one ultimately responsible for this team losing, and until he goes, the team will continue to lose.
June 7th, 20093:37 pm
Wow. MLB security needs to take another look at Marvin Hudon’s offshore accounts. He had a PERFECT view of that play. There’s no non-criminal way he could have missed that call.
we will be back in our place in 4th place in another day or two.
BTW, RIP David Carradine. Absolutely fantastic in the Kill Bill movies (too young to remember Kung Fu).
MFin04 – who would replace Cox, TP?
June 7th, 20093:38 pm
Playing Jeff Franceour and batting him 5th was Bobby Cox’s worst managerial move today. I would have started Anderson in left and Diaz in right. Defense aside, you have to score runs to win this game. And Franceour is doing nothing to help in that regard.
I just noticed…every single time there was a runner on base he gave up a run….that’s not good.
I’m Hanson pro-active but that’s not good.
You’ve made the tough choices about running off 2 hall-of-fame pitchers,
why don’t you do the same with our manager…..
I JUST typed the fact that Cox has not gotten tossed this year, and what happens. He WEEBLES out to 3rd, and nothing happens.
well seeing Bennett just got out of that and has a good ERA this season he sould be at AAA doubt it hes a good enough long relief pitcher and theres people on this team that are performing way worse than Bennett try Kelly Johnson, Jeff Francouer, Peter Moylan, and a couple others like the Garrett Andersons, and Greg Nortons
Glavine would have never made it thru the first today.
For someone who claims to watch a lot of baseball, you don’t seem to know much about the game. I just saw your response on yesterday’s blog about your rediculous trade proposal. If you think the gap in the salaries wouldn’t keep the trade from happening, then you really have no clue what you are talking about. Teams have budgets. (Except for maybe the Yankees) The Rangers would not have started the season with $15 million left in their budget without going after any of the higher dollar free agents that were available this offseason. They would absolutely not trade someone making the league minimum for someone making $11.5 million. It absolutely makes no sense. As for Andrus, he absolutely has pop in his bat. He is batting 9th because he is a rookie. Just like Shafer. Do you also think Shafer has no pop in his bat? Please stop making such rediculous comments. David Wright only has 3 homers so far this year. Do you think he has no pop in his bat either? Andrus is ranked as a top 10 prospect in baseball for a reason, and it’s not just his defense.
Peavy for the likes of Hanson and Boyer is looking like a deal now huh? We would had the money to sign Adam Dunn.
June 7th, 20093:39 pm
We could replace Bobby with the President of the Matt Diaz fan club for all I care, it’s not that hard to manage baseball. Just don’t do anything stupid. Boooby is the king of stupid.
Prez of Matt Diaz Fan Club
At least we’d have a different hitting coach
“just shows how great JJ has been his first two years.” joe
Let’s not forget that JJJ had a 4.70 ERA in his first 7 starts for Detroit the season before being traded to the Braves.
ALL good pitchers struggle coming out of the gates, at times.
Going into his 20K game against Houston, Kerry Woods had a 2-2 record and a 5.89 ERA in his first four major league starts. Two starts before the 20 K start, he allowed 7 ER in 1.2 IP.
Now…. If you wanna talk about Jeff Francoeur’s inability to hit, and Bobby/Wren’s mule-like mentality to keep him not only on the roster, but in the lineup? Yeah. I’ll join in that conversation.
Where are you
I’m waiting for your response
we just sign john huber. right handed pitcher
braves2249, Jesus dude! McLouth has had 1 freakin hit in 3 days. It doesn’t matter how many are on base ahead of you if you don’t get the hits.
June 7th, 20093:40 pm
I was just wondering: how many of us would do better than, Medlen and Hanson on their debut start, better than Francoeur, Kelly J, Kotchman, Diaz, Escobar, Chipper (yeah, nobody’s bashing him today but he usually gets some “love” from us), better than Bennett…
I was just wondering…
TP is the hitting coach and hes darn sure failing at that so if he cant do his job he has now why would he deserve to be manager i just cant promote someone when there failing at there own job
Braves Fan 88 — are you serious? One game against a team who’s very strong offensively and you’re ready to send him back down, huh? Did you completely miss the first 3 innings?
June 7th, 20093:41 pm
I think Hanson will make the needed adjustments in his next few starts.
Point taken. Never thought I lived to see the day fans were calling for a new GM, coach, hitting coach, pitching coach, position players, and pitchers. An I missing anyone? Basically we just want a new team.
“What the heck happened in the 6th to Hanson?”
He turned into Jo Jo Reyes. But man he really had great stuff! Seems like I heard that about Jo Jo as well.
June 7th, 20093:42 pm
I’m going start a site Fire Frank Wren .com
It does when you talk rbi’s GENIUS
How are we supposed to take your points on Kris Medlin seriously when you spell his name Chris Medlin?”
Ms. Rogers, forgive me I had a deadline I was trying to make. Isn’t that usually your’s and Dave’s excuse. Plus I don’t get paid for this stuff. I’ll be watching you for a slip up. You had better be on your P’s and Q’s! Just messing with you.
We can keep the grounds crew……..
Also the Team doctor is pretty good from what I can gather.

Tommy Hanson to Frank Wren & Bobby Cox “Hey, why in the hell did you guys call me up to be in this mess?
Tommy “Can I be sent back down or traded to someone who’s in contention? I’d have more fun that way. This is complete BS”
I’m done with this blog…The majority of you guys are blabbering idiots who aren’t braves fans. Its one start Mclouth has been playing for 3 games. Go pick a new team to bash… the Braves fan’s unions says f you and go be a fan of the Pirates
Tim Lincecum’s first game: 4.1 IP, 5 hits, 5 ER, 2 HR, 5 BB, 5 Ks.
Hopeless in TN
Bring out the Powder Blue Uniforms guys, the 80’s has came full circle. We are done we just need to trade Lowe, Vazquez, Chipper, and BMac. Get all the prospects we can and play for 2015. We might have chance by then!!!!!!!
Frenchy Spasmour – this start reminds me of his spring training debut. He’s not good at performing under pressure.
The next lineup:
We are a MEDIOCRE team — NOT a bad team — because of our lack of offense. Unless Bobby turns into the reincarnation of player/manager Frankie Frisch, there isn’t much he can do about getting us to score more runs. Baseball statisticians have known for years that shuffling the line-up order makes very little difference as to the total number of runs scored. Only a change in personnel can do that.
But we have the foundation: solid starting pitching. The pen has been fine of late as well. I believe we are only one power bat away from competing for our division.
Buck up, will ‘ya — Braves fans! This is ATLANTA — not Hoboken!
McLouth of the South
Pull him after 68 pitches huh? Yeah, that’s conventional. None of you morons were saying that before the 6th, and none would be saying that if the lead held up. Hindsight is 20/20.
June 7th, 20093:44 pm
LuisG……how many of us are getting PAID like the Braves that you mentioned in your posting? If it was easy, then why pay them all that money? If you are comparing their abilities to hit to the regular fan, then you are really nothing but a “jock sniffer” for the Jeff Franceours of this world.
N Nine (Send Frenchy down)
“Now…. If you wanna talk about Jeff Francoeur’s inability to hit, “” N8
Ya no kidding N8. It’s time for his annual visit with some coaches to “adjust” his head.
… I forgot to mention Kawakami, Moylan and just anybody else on our team.
Frank from KS
You rock dude !
Prattvillenolzfan – the team doctors are really the unsung heros of this team. Just think, they had to deal with Chipper’s injuries.
Steve from OH
June 7th, 20093:45 pm
He sucks. Pencil-necked dweeb with long hippie-hair.
Just needs another at bat for a double ~_~
Chipper only needs a DOUBLE….let’s hope he comes up again
Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out
Chipper is going to hit for the cycle with 2 homers and we still won’t win, lol, that would be horribly sad, lol.
Chipper needs a double for the cycle.
Chipper HR,triple,single, double
DOB, Hanson make only three bad pitches, 3 fastballs over the plate, little high. Take those out and the Kid did great. Hanson will be a star…bet on it.
Chipper is the HOSS!
That Chipper Jones ….uhhh, that guy can hit or something.
June 7th, 20093:46 pm
Braves Fan 88, well that’s your first problem. You’re trusting what’s being told to you by Bobby and Wren. How about make up your own mind and then give an opinion.
Keep in mind, the same people telling us that, are the ones that think Francoeur belongs in the big leagues. KJ makes a good lead off hitter. Jeff Bennett can get big league hitters out. Norton makes a good PH off the bench.
Should I keep going? OK. I will.
On May 6th, Derek Lowe gave up 6 ER in only 5 innings of work. Did that start show that he was unable to get hitters out? Should they have sent him packing?
We get it. You like Tommy Glavine. Good for you. Face facts buddy. This offense stinks, and ain’t NOBODY that pitches, is gonna save this team in 2009.
Time to look towards next year, which my guess WON’T include Tom Glavine for ANY major league team.
If after 10 starts of allowing 6+ ER, you can complain. But it’s one start, and if the offense (besides Chipper) would have gotten off their ass against a guy that’s done what Hanson did today for the entire season, they might actually win this game.
MFin09, the only thing that is horribly sad here is you.
Diaz got hit
Don’t hit my boy Diaz – without him, who would I be?
if we don’t swing at every pitch, we might do something with against this guy.
but FRENCHY IS UP!!!!! LOOOOOOOOOLLLLL
Wayne in Utah
Sorry if I didn’t recognize you as a regular poster. OK, so now I must ammend my comment. You are not a coward, just an idiot! Just like MFin04.
As for the poster who called me a crybaybie (exactly how did you spell that??). Well, you are right, I am a crybaby. But you, my friend, are most definitely a coward. Show yourself and stand up for slamming me, or just shut the heck up. Coward.
Thanks for those with a voice of reason today. We true Braves fans will give Hanson ample opportunities to show his talent. (steve, daybed, kirk and others…)
Why will Bobby not put Yunel in the leadoff spot. He has the best average in the leadoff spot of any player on the roster!!!!!!!!!!!
June 7th, 20093:47 pm
McLouth of the South
He was starting to leave fastballs up in the 5th. We all may have been mad about it, but it wouldn’t have been bad no matter if he came out and got em out in the 6th or not.
Chipper just wants everyone not to forget Hampton..
after all they are hunting buddies!!!!!!!!!!!
OUCH……DIAZ I hope not again
Didn’t Morton win his MLB debut against the Angels on the road?
frenchy pop out to short or DP
Hanson is fine and will be fine. But this offense is terrible.
We have got to do something to get these guys playing ball. Terry Pendleton may have been a good player but he has no idea how to coach. When Francoeur has to have his high school coach talk to him and have Chipper work with him in the batting cage should let you know Terry isnt doing something.
Rob (from SC)
I blame David Ross 100%. Hanson was not going to shake him off in his debut. Ross needed to call more breaking balls
lolllll DP, DP
Francoeur into the DP
He’s getting boo’ed now. Deservedly so.
June 7th, 20093:48 pm
That’s it, man. No more Frenchy. Enough is enough.
Yeah I’m serious. At no time when people talked about Hanson did they even try to lower expectations. That includes Frank Wren too. Now after he looks like something less than “special” all y’all want to lower expectations. Sorry, but you fans built him up and you and Wren didn’t say “wait a few games”. Now you’re begging for patience..phuleeze!
Can we start a consensus BOOO for Frenchy?
I mean honestly.
And let the Frying of Frenchy begin!!!
Wayne in Utah, so your the one Braves fan in Utah. Chill out dude.
Lol, Frenchy needs to be in AAA, no way around it now. He is an automatic out.
BTW, let’s not forget, he did kill another rally earlier. Please send him down today.
It’s probably time to get rid of Jeff.
how much longer can we afford to have francouer in this lineup he always kills a rally he helps the pitchers pitch count uhh he doesnt do anything right man time for double a ball frenchy
June 7th, 20093:49 pm
Watching chipper get four hits from both sides you think frenchy would learn something but noooooo
Excuse me!! Continue!!
