Bobby is the worst manager in baseball. Have to get tossed there. You don’t bring Bennett in, down only 2 runs in the 7th. Just a horrible move. Bennett should be, at best, in AAA.

I’m certainly no expert.

My opinions are based on fact..

However, I will grant you this. Cox is a sure Hall-of-Famer. That there is no doubt. He did a WONDERFUL job keeping everything together during the stretch run.

HOWEVER his time has certainly passed.

WHY DON’T YOU DO ME A FAVOR

Why don’t you tell me what WONDERFUL managerial decisions COX has made this year that has helped this team.

How has his handling of the bullpen HELPED this team.

How has his handling of the lineup HELPED this team.

How has his handling of Franceour HELPED this team.

How has his during game strategy HELPED this team…..

BATTER UP, I’m waiting for your response.

Playing Jeff Franceour and batting him 5th was Bobby Cox’s worst managerial move today. I would have started Anderson in left and Diaz in right. Defense aside, you have to score runs to win this game. And Franceour is doing nothing to help in that regard.

Paul Lentz,
For someone who claims to watch a lot of baseball, you don’t seem to know much about the game. I just saw your response on yesterday’s blog about your rediculous trade proposal. If you think the gap in the salaries wouldn’t keep the trade from happening, then you really have no clue what you are talking about. Teams have budgets. (Except for maybe the Yankees) The Rangers would not have started the season with $15 million left in their budget without going after any of the higher dollar free agents that were available this offseason. They would absolutely not trade someone making the league minimum for someone making $11.5 million. It absolutely makes no sense. As for Andrus, he absolutely has pop in his bat. He is batting 9th because he is a rookie. Just like Shafer. Do you also think Shafer has no pop in his bat? Please stop making such rediculous comments. David Wright only has 3 homers so far this year. Do you think he has no pop in his bat either? Andrus is ranked as a top 10 prospect in baseball for a reason, and it’s not just his defense.

“just shows how great JJ has been his first two years.” joe

Let’s not forget that JJJ had a 4.70 ERA in his first 7 starts for Detroit the season before being traded to the Braves.

ALL good pitchers struggle coming out of the gates, at times.

Going into his 20K game against Houston, Kerry Woods had a 2-2 record and a 5.89 ERA in his first four major league starts. Two starts before the 20 K start, he allowed 7 ER in 1.2 IP.

Relax people.

Now…. If you wanna talk about Jeff Francoeur’s inability to hit, and Bobby/Wren’s mule-like mentality to keep him not only on the roster, but in the lineup? Yeah. I’ll join in that conversation.

We are a MEDIOCRE team — NOT a bad team — because of our lack of offense. Unless Bobby turns into the reincarnation of player/manager Frankie Frisch, there isn’t much he can do about getting us to score more runs. Baseball statisticians have known for years that shuffling the line-up order makes very little difference as to the total number of runs scored. Only a change in personnel can do that.

But we have the foundation: solid starting pitching. The pen has been fine of late as well. I believe we are only one power bat away from competing for our division.

Buck up, will ‘ya — Braves fans! This is ATLANTA — not Hoboken!

Braves Fan 88, well that’s your first problem. You’re trusting what’s being told to you by Bobby and Wren. How about make up your own mind and then give an opinion.

Keep in mind, the same people telling us that, are the ones that think Francoeur belongs in the big leagues. KJ makes a good lead off hitter. Jeff Bennett can get big league hitters out. Norton makes a good PH off the bench.

Should I keep going? OK. I will.

On May 6th, Derek Lowe gave up 6 ER in only 5 innings of work. Did that start show that he was unable to get hitters out? Should they have sent him packing?

We get it. You like Tommy Glavine. Good for you. Face facts buddy. This offense stinks, and ain’t NOBODY that pitches, is gonna save this team in 2009.

Time to look towards next year, which my guess WON’T include Tom Glavine for ANY major league team.

If after 10 starts of allowing 6+ ER, you can complain. But it’s one start, and if the offense (besides Chipper) would have gotten off their ass against a guy that’s done what Hanson did today for the entire season, they might actually win this game.
