Terrible AB Matty, just terrible son.
Steve from OH
A quick question…why is Francoeur hitting fifth?
It took some help, but who cares!!
Mannnnnnnn, Franceour. No comment.
Another day, another embarrassing display from Frenchy. Ho hum.
Carroll – you mentioned Kotchman going on the DL – who is taking his roster spot?
the hope of the braves nation rests in your hands mr hanson
June 7th, 20091:49 pm
Mike Cameron broke the scoreless streak, RHR.
Diaz and Francoeur fail.
it’s nice to see a run finally. why is francoeur batting fifth? or in the lineup at all?
June 7th, 20091:50 pm
not good Diaz and Frency … believe GA would have put the ball in play
Worst cleanup hitter put in a lineup this year?
We still need two outfielders….
Steve from OH, yeah man. White did strike out 12 yesterday, but it was in the Super regionals against East Carolina. I read that question, I was going to ask if that was you. I dunno, I saw a question in the chat that asked if the pitcher the Braves were going to get at #7 was going to be a better prospect than Jeff Locke, and Law said probably. So ya figure whoever we get has at least #2 starter upside.
our 4-8 is pathetic
OH my bad, Chop Chop.
June 7th, 20091:51 pm
francoeur should take the wade boggs approach – take the first pitch regardless of situation. it certainly wouldn’t make things any worse.
and francoeur manages to swing at 2 balls rather than taking them for a 3-1 count.
why is he 5th today? any guesses? i’m out of ‘em.
There is your run Tommy. Hold Em!
Another man left on 3rd. Deja Vue all over again.
Hate to make a negative comment during a win, but why doesn’t SOMEBODY tell Frenchy to TAKE the first pitch, just once, just to humor ME, if for no other reason?
Is it Frenchy’s fault, is it TP’s fault, is it Bobby’s fault, is it our fault? Who’s fault is it that Frenchy’s is one of the worst hitters in MLB right now?
Jeff Francoeur sucks. I am sorry. I have been patient and hopeful that he would snap out of it. Facts are facts…he just isn’t very good. You HAVE to get the run in from 3rd when you are as run starved as this team!!!
June 7th, 20091:52 pm
Francoer swung at a pitch that probably was going in the dirt-they don’t even have to throw it near the plate for him to swing at it.
MR FLY — well done, very well done.
same ol' same ol'
Matty Diaz needs to be on the same train outta town as Frenchie and KJ. A big hit from time to time followed by failure to make contact with overswinging.
JJ and Javy have got to be saying…WTF man.
Another man left on 3rd. Deja Vue all over again. -Johnny Quest
I hear you.
that was 95 mph cheese to get fielder
Nate from NCState
June 7th, 20091:53 pm
getcha some of that
Nice job, Tommy H. Bye bye Princey.
Hanson looks so at ease out there. So nice to see.
Nice Tommy! Nice life on that fastball.
June 7th, 20091:54 pm
Where was THAT???
Where’d that 96 mph heat on the corner miss?
And a WHIF!
that’s 96, twice, to get Cameron (shoulda had him the pitch before, i thought)
go do some more roids Mike.
June 7th, 20091:55 pm
YOWZA. This kid’s good. Locating so well, 95 right where he wants and then that hook right behind it. Nasty.
Struck out the side!
It could’ve me, it could’ve been meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Wow, do you hear our fans? How exciting is it at the Ted?
Can I just take a moment to thank Frank Wren for not trading this guy?
just got the wooo from the crowd on the curveball. i hadn’t heard that since his outings in spring training. and a hearty cheer after his second perfect inning, in which he struck out the side.
And there’s the K. I’m telling you. This is like opening day all over again.
I can honestly say, that had Glavine been pitching today, I would still have tuned in and been curious how he would have done. But I’ve been WAITING for this game since they announced it. As I’m sure the rest of you have.
Succeed or not, today is the new beginning for us fans.
Strikes out the side. This is frickin’ awesome!!
Somewhere, Frank Wren is smiling too.
Boog called him Big Red ~_~
jesus christ what a curve on that 0-1 count! struck out the side?
we should have kept glavine huh?
June 7th, 20091:56 pm
Well, a bloop single and a cheap triple later and the Braves have their first run in about 5 years. On the down side, only the Braves can score just one run in that situation. Francoeur hitting fifth is a travesty. Hanson is looking great. He’s gonna have to be.
Hanson is dealing!
Wow, Braves fans actually paying attention.
I got free tickets to this game but didn’t have anyone to go with. Sniff.
Hey Carroll who his taking Kotchman’s place on the roster?
Have to like that folks. I don’t recall any other recent call up striking out the side.
most exciting moment all season WELCOME TO BIGGS TOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
only five balls in the first 21 pitches for hanson
Franceour batting 5th? Unreal. But not surprising. Franceour’s fan club must be blackmailing Braves management with some compromising pictures or something, because I just do not understand the “logic” in not only playing Franceour, but batting him 5th.
Nice to see that Mike Cameron is playing for the Braves today. He breaks back on Escobar’s ball that drops in for a hit. Then he misplays Chipper’s single into a triple.
Meanwhile, no surprise to see Franceour swing at crap all 3 pitches he swings at. Pathetic but not surprising.
Steve…I’m with you man. Glad we didn’t trade this guy.
I’m actually sitting here giddy to watch him pitch. And Carroll’s right…crowd with a big “wooo” on that hook.
June 7th, 20091:57 pm
why is he 5th today? any guesses?
Like it really matters where he’s hitting?
But Jeff says he doesn’t get anything to hit because he’s so low in the lineup (no really, he said that) so here’s his chance! I mean, him swinging at pitches in the dirt is all due to where he hits in the lineup, right? I swear if I were an opposing pitcher, just for laughs, I would freaking ROLL the first pitch to Francoeur up to the plate just to see if he’d hack at it.
3Ks in an inning… Nice!
Wham Bam thank you Ma’am. Strike out the side. Hanson is the most entertaining pitcher on our staff.
A new spotlight with McCann! ~_~
They are premiering a Spotlight B-MAC!!
Hehe, you should hear Don Sutton getting excited over on radio!
June 7th, 20091:58 pm
Yikes! Hanson’s FB looks great, but those were some wicked curves he snapped off against Gamel.
Striking out the side in the 2nd…WOOOOOOOOT!!!!! Mr. Hanson is here folks!
Anyone still on Team Glavine?
Maybe it’s too early, I’ll ask again after he gets thru the lineup one time.
June 7th, 20091:59 pm
This kid is gonna be a shot in the arm for the entire team. The crowd is buzzing at the game. The guys seem to be just as pumped as the fans.
Think Kerry Wood type of impact the rest of the season. Dontrelle Willis perhaps? Our very own “Fernando Mania”.
willie mays hayes
Jerry Holcombe… so your saying no other teams have failed to drive in a run w/a runner on third and one out?… And if you can name me the last time the Braves had a “bloop single and cheap triple” like that then i’d be impressed… haven’t had that many good breaks lately
When does it come on again?
Caroll, N8 – Didn’t mean it that way. It’s just that a lot is at stake in Hanson’s start today. And any letdown in his start today would surely put a damper on everybody.
I’m glad that so far Hanson is doing good!! yeah!
Oh Kelly…Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. Ugh.
Hanson is throwing some serious smoke. Nice to see him strike out the side.
And to think that many of you would rather see Tom Glavine pitch today. Unreal, lol.
I dont understand why Franceour isnt batting 8th. Prado is a much better hitter than Franceour. Ross has power. And Kelly Johnson hits better against left handers anyway. Franceour, on the other hand, pretty much SUCKS against everyone.
why not have kj bunt there
June 7th, 20092:00 pm
Wondering if Glavine is watching the game today. hehehe.
Let’s go Ross!
2249, it premieres Saturday night after the game.
June 7th, 20092:01 pm
Hanson looks good so far.
Nice hustle by Chipper taking 3rd base on that “triple” as well.
Tommy Hanson to hit!
Frank from KS
Nate from NCState
Hanson took Kotchman’s spot on the roster.
June 7th, 20092:02 pm
i would have gone with you. = – )
Thanks…All I saw was McCann and Spotlight and I was like FINALLY….I mean he’s more of the hometown favorite than Jeff now.
KJ is starting to look like a left-handed version of JFK
June 7th, 20092:03 pm
Can you imagine if Hanson got a hit…
PI Braves, I guess I can agree with that. A poor outing today, might have had that affect.
hanson puts up a better AB than francouer
Hanson’s got better plate discipline than 90 percent of the order.
June 7th, 20092:04 pm
Francouer should be in Ross’ spot in the lineup and Ross should be in Francouer’s.
In this at-bat, Tommy Hanson will see more pitches than Franceour sees all day, lol.
Is Manny Parra going to throw a quality start today?
Poll: Is Hanson our best pitcher?
back to the strike out machine!
THK has more patience than our #5 hitter
June 7th, 20092:07 pm
Watch this guys!!
Frenchy shouldn’t have a spot in the lineup, period.
June 7th, 20092:08 pm
Strike throwing machine.
