We still need two outfielders….

Steve from OH, yeah man. White did strike out 12 yesterday, but it was in the Super regionals against East Carolina. I read that question, I was going to ask if that was you. I dunno, I saw a question in the chat that asked if the pitcher the Braves were going to get at #7 was going to be a better prospect than Jeff Locke, and Law said probably. So ya figure whoever we get has at least #2 starter upside.

francoeur should take the wade boggs approach – take the first pitch regardless of situation. it certainly wouldn’t make things any worse.

Hate to make a negative comment during a win, but why doesn’t SOMEBODY tell Frenchy to TAKE the first pitch, just once, just to humor ME, if for no other reason?

Is it Frenchy’s fault, is it TP’s fault, is it Bobby’s fault, is it our fault? Who’s fault is it that Frenchy’s is one of the worst hitters in MLB right now?

Jeff Francoeur sucks. I am sorry. I have been patient and hopeful that he would snap out of it. Facts are facts…he just isn’t very good. You HAVE to get the run in from 3rd when you are as run starved as this team!!!

Well, a bloop single and a cheap triple later and the Braves have their first run in about 5 years. On the down side, only the Braves can score just one run in that situation. Francoeur hitting fifth is a travesty. Hanson is looking great. He’s gonna have to be.

Franceour batting 5th? Unreal. But not surprising. Franceour’s fan club must be blackmailing Braves management with some compromising pictures or something, because I just do not understand the “logic” in not only playing Franceour, but batting him 5th.

Nice to see that Mike Cameron is playing for the Braves today. He breaks back on Escobar’s ball that drops in for a hit. Then he misplays Chipper’s single into a triple.

Meanwhile, no surprise to see Franceour swing at crap all 3 pitches he swings at. Pathetic but not surprising.

Steve…I’m with you man. Glad we didn’t trade this guy.

RHR

June 7th, 2009
1:57 pm

why is he 5th today? any guesses?

Like it really matters where he’s hitting?

But Jeff says he doesn’t get anything to hit because he’s so low in the lineup (no really, he said that) so here’s his chance! I mean, him swinging at pitches in the dirt is all due to where he hits in the lineup, right? I swear if I were an opposing pitcher, just for laughs, I would freaking ROLL the first pitch to Francoeur up to the plate just to see if he’d hack at it.

Jerry Holcombe… so your saying no other teams have failed to drive in a run w/a runner on third and one out?… And if you can name me the last time the Braves had a “bloop single and cheap triple” like that then i’d be impressed… haven’t had that many good breaks lately

Hanson is throwing some serious smoke. Nice to see him strike out the side.

And to think that many of you would rather see Tom Glavine pitch today. Unreal, lol.

I dont understand why Franceour isnt batting 8th. Prado is a much better hitter than Franceour. Ross has power. And Kelly Johnson hits better against left handers anyway. Franceour, on the other hand, pretty much SUCKS against everyone.
