This is absolutely embarrassing. We get a runner in scoring position because Ryan Braun lost the ball? Sweet Lord this offense is awful.

consistent? Who said anything about consistent? I said “at least … they were scoring”

That was 1 shutout in 9 games, this is (so far) 2 shutouts in 2 games since he arrived. Apparently the baseball gods demanded compensation for that trade too, and they took the rest of the braves offense.

Didn’t mean to put words in your mouth CALM DOWN. It doesn’t really matter if they score 1 or none if they still lose. They are still getting hits and walks, they just aren’t scoring. At least right now they are losing to a first place team and not the Giants and D-Backs.

So I know our astute observers, those who see him far more often in person … that would be the (sorry, just saw Michael Young break up Jon Lester’s no-no after 6 1/3 innings) impresario of the blog … that G. Anderson is snapping out of it. But his average remains glued between .250 and .260. And he couldn’t get a run home from 3rd with nobody out. He used to be a very reliable run producer with the Angels of Orange County. Now? Sorry, I still hold reservations about his usefulness.

I’ll be honest, for once I was mad at JJ last night. I didn’t think he really got the job done.

Maybe I was just tired of blaming Yunel but no more, I refuse to blame any of our pitchers for the current state of the Braves braves-ness.

At least for now. Vasquez has really bad karma. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t pitched poorly at times but nothing ever seems to go his way.

time out… what’s up with the crowd tonight?

There are people there. I can’t believe it. Of course you wouldn’t know it, it’s not like they ever react to anything. At least not premeditated reactions.

According to the AP: “Smoltz threw 51 of 74 pitches for strikes, walked two and struck out three. He topped out at 91 mph on the McCoy Stadium radar gun and retired the last 10 batters he faced.” He only “allowed one hit and one run while pitching six innings Saturday for the Pawtucket Red Sox in a rehab start against the Durham Bulls.” Interesting
