Wait. People don’t like Javy? WTF?
June 6th, 20097:53 pm
Curious, he’s almost my favorite pitcher on the staff. Mediocre is what his record says, though. I think he’ll break that this year. Something like 15-10 or so.
RHR – I like Javy.
June 6th, 20097:54 pm
Curious Braves fan – Seems quite “fashionable” to some here to hate some of our own guys.
Don’t ask me why though, I’ll never “get it.”
Maybe they don’t have anything better to do?
You probably know by now that I like New Javy
June 6th, 20097:55 pm
Well, Ron Gant’s not such a bad announcer…
Tonight better be the night out…or tomorrow, if he plays.
But just to be safe, he better break out tonight…and if he plays tomorrow, he cann do the same…
“maybe because Adam wanted to come with him”
OK- that cracked me up
June 6th, 20097:56 pm
Nate getting used to being here!
June 6th, 20097:57 pm
HANSON LOOK’S BETTER THAN GLAVINE AND SMOLTZ, AND A HELL OF A LOT CHEAPER
May I finally see 2 steals in a game?
That WAS funny!!
cabravesfan – you and I think alike (LaRoche).
“I find it funny to hear Gant tell players to hit the ball the other way.”
That is funny. About the only thing more absurd, would be Francouer telling young players to be patient and take a couple of pitches.
June 6th, 20097:59 pm
If that’s true I am very concerned for you
June 6th, 20098:01 pm
We finally get a guy that can steal bases and then we bat him in front of the team’s best hitter and reigning NL Batting Champ where a stolen base takes the bat out of his hands. I guess that’s “Bobby ball”???
Fine, just…stay in your slump then.
We can’t hit Jeff Suppan? Who can we hit? Why did we trade tons of prospects for Vasquez and McLouth? Why not keep them and make a trade later on? Maybe we’ll be ready to win by then(2010).
June 6th, 20098:02 pm
Maybe it’s just meaningful.
June 6th, 20098:03 pm
well they do say great minds think alike…
June 6th, 20098:04 pm
good news cabraves cause im liking it, fire rock is more special than longboard i think alsp
Rob (from SC)
June 6th, 20098:05 pm
Maybe if you set your eyes or ears on other players once in a while, you’d feel better.
What’s going on? KJ dove and actually came up with one then threw the runner out!
That was a great defensive play from KJ!
Glad you like it
The Truth – the truth is too intricate for us poor mortals to comprehend. (Or maybe we needed a pitcher, and, after 12 innings, it’s too early to call the McLouth trade).

June 6th, 20098:06 pm
DOB, thanks for the new blog. Great job!
Man, that stolen base was great to see. I love it.
Another great part of this game tonite, Ron is in the house. I like hearing him so much better than Chip.
Let’s get some run support and get our record even so Hanson can put us above .500. Go Bravos.
June 6th, 20098:08 pm
cabravesfan – ok, key test, I have to know – what is your opinion of the singer known as Jimmy Buffett?
June 6th, 20098:09 pm
No, I do. I like (most of) our other players…Kotchy was my second favorite…
June 6th, 20098:10 pm
I am almost afraid to answer that for fear of you not liking me anymore but I kinda love Jimmy Buffet (Come Monday and Southern Cross are two of my favorite songs)
Braves havent scored a run in 72 hours.
June 6th, 20098:11 pm
Try the coffee porter. My wife used to work across the street from brewery there.
June 6th, 20098:12 pm
What did the ump say?
Please tell me you aren’t serious about Schafer?
June 6th, 20098:14 pm
Gonzo coulda been a BoSox? Wow
I met Frenchy last year with my brother at a St. Louis game. Great guy, and a pleasure to meet such a nice ball player. That being said, I hate watching him bat. Wtf is wrong with taking pitches and working the count and maybe a walk now and then?
I dont give a *UCK…real loud too cus the announcers were done talking…
June 6th, 20098:15 pm
DODGER BEAT PHILLIES
June 6th, 20098:17 pm
GOOD STUFF ANDRE! Now all the braves need to do is win…
Way to lose, Phillies!
(Just couldn’t bring myself to congratulate the dodgers)
BoSox loss is our gain, huh bravos2249?
June 6th, 20098:18 pm
Where did that come from?
June 6th, 20098:19 pm
cabravesfan – you have passed the test (I had a good feeling you would), young grasshopper (but please, two t’s in the last name) – I had just thought to catch the end of the recorded concert being streamed on Radio Margaritaville – where every concert is streamed live (and I hate myself when I forget). Even now, we hear Harry Belafonte post-game. I managed to catch him opening for the Eagles (before I really knew him) shortly after Come Monday was actually on the radio (and a dozen or so times since). While I would technically rank Springsteen and Billy Joel at #1 & #2, it doesn’t get better than Jimmy (although, as I mentioned earlier, Elvis Costello and I share ‘real’ last names).
Horner, i am in the minority of adults in my hatred for coffee so I cant say that I will give that Porter a shot but im all about anything else. id say working across the street from a brewery would be tough, just daydreaming about how much better working there would be all day
Oh, my. Prince does it to the Bravos again. Dude KILLS the Braves
Definitely our gain
June 6th, 20098:20 pm
Prez of Matt Diaz Fan Club
There she blows
If Frenchy could have jumped 10 feet he could have caught that – I blame him!
June 6th, 20098:21 pm
get those EX BRAVES OFF OF OUR SPORTS HOME – they both have no class.
Ok for Smoltz to run to the sox, but Glavine is a whining premodona and he can rot in H. Now if the Braves can figure a way to win, the Phillies fell and the Muts are way behind
Vasquez is overrated. You have to outpitch Jeff Suppan. He sucks.
June 6th, 20098:22 pm
solo homer. no biggy.
It’s the “cool” thing to do.
June 6th, 20098:23 pm
Can anyone remember the last time the Braves scored?
There were originally two “t’s” but the second one went rogue and I can’t find it…sorry- when it comes back we will have a talk. Come Monday was one of the first songs I downloaded to my iPod (took a little while to find Southern Cross but I got it eventually) Never seen him in concert but my brother has a few times and always raves about it
It could be worse. We could be losing 7-0 to the Nats, right?
I actually blame Tom Glavine for that hr
Coach ( Moon Pie, Anyone?)
June 6th, 20098:24 pm
Wow, four hits after four innings tonight, compared to yesterday’s two hit performance.
This is progress! Bobby’s new line up is impressing the hell out of me. Cox, you are a genius.
did it see it right – Nats lead Mets 7-0? that’s something.
June 6th, 20098:25 pm
I had to run out and get butter for tonight’s taters. What’d I miss? How’d they score?
I see LA won.
Are you a ROb too?
is so my apologies..I meant to Rob in SC…he said something about why Schafer isn’t playing.
June 6th, 20098:26 pm
You should also be well aware by now that spelling is more of a guideline for me then an actual rule
DCBrave – we need to win for it to mean something, huh?
I miss runs . . . how long has it been?
June 6th, 20098:27 pm
bravos2249- Oh, did not see that.
Huh. Another “leadoff” and inning AB for KJ, resulting in an out. Go figure. Never would have seen that coming.
Someone should’ve sat KJ in a corner after swinging at the first pitch with runners on. Little MF’r! I swear, it’s like deja-vu game after game.
June 6th, 20098:28 pm
DCBrave I like your attitude. No biggie is right.
Huh. Followed by a basehit by Yunel. Wow. Odd.
That homer from Fielder looked like a pop up. I couldn’t believe it went out.
June 6th, 20098:29 pm
No problem…I didn’t know you where a Rob as well..lol..I just didn’t feel like typing all that or going back and copying and pasting.
more good baserunning
i hate dish network i havent got to see a game if a while ahhhhhh
June 6th, 20098:30 pm
How come only like 3 of our hitters realize that Suppan has gone 0-2 then ran it full.
in a while my bad
Well, the faker got faked. I guess that’s karma…
Flat Bill Kid-
God know it took me a while to get that attitude. don’t try to smash it.
cabravesfan – I was a big fan of ‘Southern Cross’ when Stephen Stills did it (still am), but the Coral Reefer Band took it to another level. I will remind you next time he has a concert coming up online (June 18). He just finished a few West Coast dates – maybe we should meet in Paris on September 26 (or my hometown of Wantagh, LI, NY, on 8/26). I did miss his April date here thanks to tutoring (oh, Yunel!)!
Escobar: worst baserunner ever?
The only person I ever see Escobar talking to is Chino
Wow. That play pretty much sums up the Braves season.
June 6th, 20098:31 pm
Vazquez is a headcase…look how he sat down the 3 guys in a row with ease after he gave up the HR to Fielder. Loses concentration until it’s too late soemtimes.
Way to go Escobar!
that was a tough ball to read
Well I gotta say Escobar did deke thm last night…so what goes around comes around. Atleast I think he did it to them and not the Cubs.
Is Escobar the worst baserunner in basball?
X-Country Braves Fan
June 6th, 20098:32 pm
Who thinks Fl will pass us by July?
We WILL win this game.
Steve from OH
June 6th, 20098:33 pm
nolie, you were on a roll today. Good stuff. I think there is a chance that Matzek and Wheeler will be gone, but I think Miller will almost certainly be there. I posed a question to Keith Law in his comments section and he thinks Miller is the Braves’ third choice after Wheeler and Matzek. I’m happy with that.
I love Yunel, he plays with a little fire in his belly, plays great D, is a good hitter, but man, they need to send him back to Baseball 101 to learn how to run bases. Yeesh.
AndyC: “That homer from Fielder looked like a pop up. I couldn’t believe it went out.”
I saw Glavine’s lips moved right before that.
What just happened with Escobar? Gamecast didn’t explain it
Check that: by mid-June?
Get them on and leave them on.
Chipper Jones is getting worse
Imagine what it will be like in 2012.
June 6th, 20098:34 pm
wow Durbin (of the Phillies) threw Either 6 straight fastballs…can we say stupid
Paris? You buying? I’m not big on flying but execptions can always be made (restocking the Ambien works too) and I love Paris
(long island? doable. I have family there and I also love NYC)
cabravesfan – I do not comment on spelling, except in cases that are close to my heart. And, even then, I should not comment when the person involved is close to my heart. Therefore, I heartily apologize.
line drive that fell in front of Hart in right field, but he deked Escobar who started going back to firt and he got forced at second
Chipper Jones is getting worse: I can’t wait.
