Get Chipper Out NOW!

I don’t want him to hurt his toe anymore that it is right now…

I’m telling you it’s an unfair world in baseball. A pitcher struggles and he can take it out on the next batter by plunking him. I think when a pitcher is kicking our ass, our hitters oughta be able to hurl their bats as hard as they can toward the pitchers mound. futhamukas!!!

So G. Anderson wee wees all over one (you seamheads will know the real dugout version of that cliche which I won’t use because this is supposed to be a PG blog) and Rafael Nadal gets beat at the French Open.
How will SportsCenter open the 11 p.m. show tonight? That’s a tough call between those two.
(OK, DOB, I’ll defer to your estimation of GA because you see him more closely and more often than we do).

I’m not equating a HBP with a car wreck, but I had a bruise right under my knee from a wreck and it hurt like hell to walk on it. Even though it was a regular bruise it hurt when I walked cause of the positioning of it. Let’s hope it was a bruise like that for Casey.

Garret Anderson continuing to heal that leg and to look like himself.

Paul Lentz Glavine was signed awhile ago so we’ve known for sometime he was going to pitch when healthy. As for the starting pitching not being a problem, the 5th spot can improve. Having a 300-game winner that knows how to pitch is not an awful thing.

Virginia Ranger, we did blow a 7 run lead against the Phillies at the beginning of the season. This is an offensive ball park. It would be nice to see Medlen go 6 or 7 innings today. With tomorrow being an off day, if Medlen can go deep into the game, then the bullpen should be really rested for the Chicago series.

Doesn’t matter to me in least whether a pitcher tries to hit you or not. That matters not when it appears that Kotchman may wind up misses time. We should still be able to make their miss some time. Then maybe they’ll try just a little harder to keep the ball fro getting too far inside.

From today’s Globe, notes from Nick Cafardo (the tradition started by Peter Gammons and carried on faithfully and well by Gordon Edes. Cafardo’s OK, but he’s not in Edes’ class. Few are.) —
Managerial ranks, with current rank first and previous in parentheses. Rankings based on interviews with front office and field personnel throughout the majors:
4. Bobby Cox, Braves: Probably the most respected manager in the game by his players. A fundamentally sound skipper (2).
David Ortiz on Terry Francona (who is No. 2 in the survey): “Francona is unbelievable. He might be the best handler of players I’ve ever seen. He gives you confidence. He’s the best. He’ll have a young kid here from the minors and before he sends him back he sits with him and he explains everything the kid needs to do, man. When they come back, they come back strong. That’s because of him.”
And lastly, an item on the blog denizens’ favorite whipping boy of late: One thing that makes sense about Boston scouting the struggling Francoeur is that he’s a big Red Sox fan (he used to carry a Red Sox Mastercard until his Braves teammates made him get rid of it). Francoeur has struggled for two seasons now, so we’re not sure there’s real interest. “That’s news to me,” said a Sox official. The Sox have to be concerned about Rocco Baldelli’s channelopathy, which causes fatigue in his legs.

And looks like KJ is ready to embark on one of those notorious hot streaks because he is ripping … um, well, you know, uh, fun bags.

Goldenglove002

I can’t really figure it out but I have noticed fewer and fewer GA critics. keylargo

I said it early in the game and GA has made a nice catch going back, coming in and has a HR.

GA and Diaz have LF covered. Send Schafer down, to work on hitting and defense and hope he makes enough progress to come back later. Blanco will fill in until help arrives. Continue to look for a power bat for CF or RF. JF has to be on the trading block in return for an outfielder.

KJ three doubles. Where are the KJ haters?

MP batting average below KJ.

Rookie Medlin will get the win.

Glavine will be back in a week or two.
