Well it was just pointed out that McCann has his glasses on catching! Dave, I asked the question if that could possibly be the reason for his defensive woes over the last week. You didn’t answer probably because you thought I was being a smarta$$, but I think it will make a big difference.
Talk about some young pitching ready to break through at AAA — Medlen’s already up, Hanson is the next big thing, Morton is sticking it up people’s tailpipes and that Glavine kid is throwing well.
Is that like Tom’s son? That is Tom? GTFO!
I’m telling you. When it’s all said and done, Morton will be the more productive starter in the majors. But that is more about what I think Morton can be, rather than what I think Medlen can’t be.
If Morton every gets the mental side (confidence) down, he’s gonna be a fine starter in this league.
HEY that was a secret you jerk off! Jeff was a naughty boy and I always hated it when he’d make these weird jaw and neck movements. Does he still do that?
stand by what I stated. IMO, though a month or two worth of games behind Jordan’s “resume” of minor league games, Gorkys appears to be better prepared to not fail as badly as Schafer has so far (N8)
ramble all you wan Nate, Gorkys doesn’t need to be up here any more than Schafer does.Neither one is ready. Most players can not jump to the majors from limited AA play and succeed right away and neither one of them had the spectacular stats that would make you think that they can.
Unfortunately, this blog is loaded with bashers. It was just a matter of time before they started bashing on the best young Braves player on the team. What you have to do, is ignore them. At least, response-wise. They enjoy getting a negative response from the fans. DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM!
You are right about the eaglettes. I live near the Hudson River. There are more nesting eagles, along the Hudson, than anywhere else in NY State. I’ve been watching them, taping them, and photographing them for the last 5 years. From what I’ve read, they have 1-3 hatchlings every year. This is the first time I’ve seen three.
Never saw that one (True Romance). Was never an Elvis fan. I’m more into the 60’s lounge singers when it comes to music before my time. Don’t care much for the 50’s stuff..that’s my mom’s music, which is an automatic disqualifier.
How’s this for a kicker? I looked up Berkman right after I guessed him as the trivia answer on MLB.com and he is hitting .299 there. There may be no one besides CJ hitting .300 as a switch hitter.
First time Jurrjens has allowed more than two runs in his past nine starts, and first time he’s allowed more than three earned runs all season. Fortunately for the Braves, it comes in the game where they give him robust support.
With the way Tommy Hanson and Charlie Morton are pitching, we might need to explore trading Vazquez and/or Kawakami. Kawakami’s contract is probably untradeable.
Kelly should have caught that!! And does anyone notice how Garret Anderson just jogs to the ball and such. Never goes hard after it..Iv seen a lot of balls thathe could cut off but decided to just take it off the wall.
Obviously I am not DOB but I would think that JJ has been pitching more to contact because of the big lead…hasn’t exactly worked out like he planned, I’m sure…
Yeah you’re right…Kawakami can’t be moved without the Brave’s eating a lot of his salary. Hanson or Morton will be a piece in a trade and then we’ll see what happens when an organization show’s some patience with their young pitchers.

Jurrjens, you are my favorite Braves player, and you have been ever since you struck out A Jones last year in your 1 or 2 start. But you need to control yourself, 5 runs is inexcusable, can you image have slow this game would be in you had no run support? Pitch like its 5 – 5 ok?
Yes Cameron, i think people have noticed by now. If he dives for it, he probably breaks a hip so whether you guys like it or not thats probably the best the guy can do.
